3 Abstract Title of a work: Geographical determinants of sport participation in high school students Objectives of the thesis: Identify and evaluate according with the research at selected schools whether geographical location of residence and school, respectively distance between home and school can determinate where students are held leisure and sports activities, in particular. Method: This is a quantiative research using a questionnaire method. Obtained data were evaluated using statistical methods - the percentage methods and methods of frequencies. Results and conclusions: There was found the impact of the distance between residence and school respectively lenght of time spent in transport to the school which determinates choice of leisure and sports activities for students of secondary school. Title: Support of sports in the region around Havlíčkův Brod Objective:The aim of the thesis is to analyze municipalities' approaches to providing support for sports in the region around Havlíčkův Brod, Czech Republic. Methods: A questionnaire survey and interviews were especially employed to obtain data. We have also applied primary and secondary data analysis in our thesis. Results: Organization and staffing are the most lacking areas as regards support of sports within municipalities. Title: Media Image of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Focused on the Top Czech Athletes Goal: Evaluation of the presentation of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (mainly Czech athletes) in the Czech daily newspapers Mladá fronta DNES and Hospodářské noviny Research method: Quantitative content analysis Results: The press dedicated much bigger room to Olympic information compared to other competitions. Out of the Czech athletes, medalists and hockey players were mostly presented. The most articles about the Czech athletes were published after their successful races or matches. Life style of middle school students in the city of Most in relation to the socio-economic status of their parents

Abstract Title: The lifestyle of middle-school students in the city of Most, in relation to the socio- economic status of their parents. Goal: Ascertaining, in the city of Most, the connection between parents' socio-economic status and their children's lifestyle, i.e. ascertaining whether parents' position in social strata creates a difference in the lifestyles of children from individual classes. Method: Explorative method of empirical research. The research technique chosen was to utilize questionnaires. The questionnaires were not standardized. Results: The symbolic borders between lifestyles of middle-school students from various social classes in the city of Most are diffuse and not strictly defined. Individuals whose parents have differing socio-economic statuses have lifestyles which resemble each other. Keywords: Lifestyle, socio-economic status, family, vertical stratification.

Spatial and material conditions applicable to physical activities of young adolescents living in Central Bohemia Region

Spatial and material conditions applicable to physical activities of young adolescents living in Central Bohemia Region The major objective of dissertation thesis was to explore the continuity of spatial and material conditions and affiliation to physical activities of individuals aged 12-15 years, i.e. young adolescents, living in municipalities, around the area of Central Bohemia Region (population 10 000-22 000) and their surroundings. The presented study was conducted predominantly as an empirical association research. The research sample consisted of 2 660 young adolescents living in five muni- cipalities in the area of Central Bohemia Region (Benešov, Beroun, Čelákovice, Kutná Hora, Neratovice) and their close surroundings. However, 2 564 properly completed questionnaires were analyzed. No direct relationship was found between the perceptions of spatial conditions, individual material equipment of young adolescents, and their attendance in physical activities. The correlation between spatial conditions applicable to locomotion activity and between locomotion activity of young adolescents reached r = -0.04. The correlation coefficients between spatial conditions applicable to sport and between organized sport activity in young adolescents were ranging from -0.10 to 0.19, and from -0.17 to 0.26...

Changes of Czech rowing sport after 1989 - its structural changes and aims

Název: Vývoj Českého veslařského svazu po roce 1989 - strukturální změny a zaměření činnosti Title of Thesis: Development ofCzech Rowing Association after 1989 - structural changes and activity orientation Cíl práce: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit a popsat důsledky politických, společenských, ekonomických a legislativních změn v České republice na činnost Českého veslařského svazu a veslařského sportu v České republice obecně. Metoda: Ke zjištění potřebných informací pro vypracování této diplomové práce jsem využil postup kvalitativního výzkumu. Provedl jsem rozhovory podle návodu s čelnými představiteli Českého veslařského svazu. Následně jsem provedl analýzu dokumentů získaných především na sekretariátu Českého veslařského svazu (dále jen ČVS). Ostatní dokumenty jsem získal v dalších organizacích a dále prostřednictvím internetu. Získané informace jsem doplňoval z neformálních rozhovorů s funkcionáři, pamětníky a jinými činovníky, kteří ve sledovaném období v ČVS působili. Výsledky: Z výsledků šetření vyplynulo, že ČVS je občanským sdružením ve smyslu zákona č. 83/1990 Sb., které svoji základní úlohu plní. V době zásadních transformačních změn se ČVS osamostatnil a dokázal se integrovat do nově vznikajících struktur českého sportovního prostředí. ČVS je právoplatným členem Mezinárodní...
