Management of major orienteering events

Name: Management of major orienteering events Goal: The main goal of this thesis is to determine and summarize basic managerial methods important for successful organization of major sporting events, with focus on orienteering. These methods will be described more in detail to support potential organizers of main orienteering events and so to help to bring professionalism to delivery of the event. Methods: In this work a mixed method approach was used for the data collection as well as for analysis of collected data. Information about events were collected through questionnaires, analyzed with basic statistic methods such as mean, median or correlation and visualized in graph. Correlations were critically evaluated considering logical interrelation of two variables. Results: The results showed a crucial role in success of any orienteering event plays functionality of organizing committee - its satisfaction, commitment and coherence. Even though, organizing committees doesn't necessarily have any professional education in sport event management, years of organizing national and grass root events gave them enough experience to organize successfully major orienteering events, considering their own objectives. Title: Product's offer of the cycling race Transbrody for sponsors Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to innovate the offer of the Transbrody bike race to sponsors. Based on the processed analyzes of interviews and the survey, to design options how to improve the current offer and complement the current offer with new options and products for new sponsors and sponsorship packages or new sponsors. This work will serve for the cycling club as a proposal to increase the offer for sponsors for future years. Methods: The work has used both quantitative methods and qualitative methods. Among quantitative methods, an electronic questionnaire survey designed for the sponsors of the race was used. As a qualitative method the method of semi- structured questionnaire with the marketing director of the race was used. Results: Based on an interview with the marketing director of the Transbrody race and a questionnaire survey for sponsors, it turned out that the sponsors of the race would also welcome a change in the current offer. It turned out that the organizers do not use sponsorship packages at all and do not work with sponsorship activation. It was recommended to create these packages. Title: Web presentation of basketball clubs in Kooperativa NBL Objectives: The main objective of this diploma thesis is to create a summary of recommendations for the web presentation of the sports club through marketing research based on the evaluation of existing websites, but also based on the requirements, recommendations and expectations of website visitors. Methods: There are used two interdependent methods in the thesis. The first method is the content analysis of the website, which was subjected to 12 websites of KNBL clubs. The second method is Focus Group, which was attended by 8 selected respondents. Results: The research results show that the web presentation of clubs in KNBL is on the high level. Title: Proposal for improving the game day experience in the ELH based on the NHL Objectives: The main goal of the diploma thesis is to suggest the program arrangement of the game day for the visitors of the Czech hockey league. The thesis targets on new features appropriate for the Czech environment but also for the improvement of the current ones. Another goal of the thesis is to describe the attitude of the game day management teams to the accompanying program in ELH and NHL which represent the image of the league itself. Methods: The main sources for collecting the data are as the following: a structured observation and in-depth interviews. All of the information is collected based on the questions created for the purpose of the thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on the literature sources and the consultations with experts in the field of the Czech and Canadian-American icehockey. Results: The main result of the diploma thesis is the suggestion for the improvement of the gameday program of the club HC Sparta Praha. The suggestion was prepared based on the analysis using the methods stated above. The suggestion includes elements usable in front of the arena before the game starts. Title: Attendance at home matches of FK Dukla Praha Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to find ways of improving attendance at home matches of FK Dukla Praha based on data from marketing research. The goal of the thesis is designed in collaboration with FK Dukla Praha in a way that would provide them valuable data about their fans and their satisfaction with offered services. Methods: The method used in this thesis is marketing research. Its main part was made up of electronic survey using a questionnaire created specifically for the purposes of this thesis. The survey was supplemented by a semi-structured interview with a member of marketing team of FK Dukla Praha. Results: The results of this research revealed a few options that would lead to increase in attendance at home matches of FK Dukla Praha. The influence of foreign players on the Czech football league

Title: The influence of foreign players on the Czech football league Objectives: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find out, how foreigners influence the Czech league football in seasons from 1993/1994 to 2017/2018 and compere the differences or similarities with the rest of the football world in regards to economical, culture, historical and geographical point of view. The next objective is to analyze flow of the players from different part of world into Czech Republic and the other way around from Czech players standpoint. Second purpose is to collect data that will be used in dissertation thesis and will be analyse by hierarchical linear model that will provide better characterization of hypothesis. Methods: In bachelor thesis the descriptive statistic is being used to analyze data from the Czech first league background from season 1993/1994 to 2017/2018, the results are presented in clubs level and competition level. Care of foreign players in Czech basketball

Title: Care of foreign players in Czech basketball Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to understand the difference in care for foreign players at selected clubs of the Kooperativa NBL. Methods: A qualitative research method of personal interviews is used in the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The respondents are foreign players playing for Czech teams and also the management of the club. Interviewing took place in March 2019. In total 15 interviews were conducted. Results: The outcomes of the research are processed by comparative analysis in the fifth chapter of this work. According to the results the care of foreign players differs mainly in access to foreign reinforcements. The majority of players confirmed that the terms of the contract are being respected. We have noticed that the teams in the first half of the table tend to choose experienced players while the bottom for financial reasons elects rookies. Czech sport media coverage of women during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games

Title: Women in Czech sport media coverage during Winter Olympic Games 2018 Objectives: Main objective of this thesis is to analyse gender inequalities in Czech sport media coverage during Winter Olympic Games 2018. Compared with previous studies I will find out, if there occur women discrimination in the Czech sport environment and how it is being demonstrated there. Methods: For realization of this research was used a quantitative and qualitative content analysis. There were chosen several indicators to be searched for based on previous studies. As a research event were chosen Winter Olympic Games 2018. The analysis was made on two Czech sport online sites respectively sport.cz and sport.idnes.cz. Results: Overall results showed higher internet coverage for men. However, when compared to the percentage for participants by gender the results came out surprisingly better for women. The results about the length of articles were also in favour of men. More active sporting photographs came out for man and more inactive photographs still in the sport environment were found for women. The most mentioned sport was ice hockey. Marketing research of RunCzech brand image

Title: Marketing research of RunCzech brand image Objectives: The aim of this work is to analazye through research the image of brand RunCzech.on czech market and to compare it with brand identity. Results will provide suggestions for improvement RunCzech brand image. Methods: This bachelor thesis uses the method of interview and the method of electronic questioning. The method of interview was used during the meeting with marketing director of RunCzech brand. The data acquired from the interview helped to identify the identity of the brand and the information about desired image on the market. The method of electronic questioning will be used for analysing current image of brand RunCzech and I will compare the results with brand's identity. Results: The results of research show that the brand has very positive image. Its personality had the greatest results, brand was described with many excellent traits. Brand was perceived as successful, high-quality, modern, popular and innovative. Brands service (organising long-distance races) is also very well perceived. In the process of analysing the image of brands symbol I discovered disagreement with the phrase of its slogan.
