Evolution of Morality, Morality of Evolution

The goal of this work is to present attitudes of two contemporary authors who are in the center of the evolutionary-origin-of morality debate, that is theories of Richard Dawkins and Frans de Waal. The critical reflection of their works on this topic will center around the building blocks of morality and the supposed "moral sense", which according to the dutch primatologist humans to some extent share with some of their living evolutinary relatives. In case of Richard Dawkins we are about to review his meme theory and parasytical character of some elements of culture. Morevoer there will be presented accounts of the dual inheritance theorists, which in authors opinion can reunite both presented authors and thier attitudes, i.e. put the parasytic/independent character of memes in accordance with the building blocks of morality approach. War as a Biosocial Theme in the Works of Edvard Beneš and Bohumil Němec

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Válka jako biosociální téma v některých dílech Edvarda Beneše a Bohumila Němce a sleduje v období První republiky politické biologismy v politických otázkách s obzvláštním důrazem na dílo dvou významných osobností československé veřejné i odborné sféry, Edvarda Beneše a Bohumila Němce. Od počátku 19. století se v návaznosti na Darwinovu evoluční teorii a její společenské aplikace (eugenika, rasová hygiena, "sociální biologie") začíná rozvíjet i tzv. biologie války neboli aplikace biologických principů na pojetí lidské války, k níž se oba zmínění autoři ve svých pracích vyjadřovali. Tato bakalářská práce představuje rozbor dvou jejich děl, vztahujících se k danému tématu, a pokus o jejich zasazení do širšího kontextu, jak z hlediska kulturně historického, tak z hlediska interní logiky darwinistických a jiných biosociálních teorií. Edvard Beneš a Bohumil Němec, dvě významné osoby československé odborné i veřejné sféry, politicky, intelektuálně a vědecky významní představitelé První republiky. Ve svých vědeckých, filozofických a politických názorech se hluboce rozcházeli a v roce 1935 proti sobě dokonce stáli jako protikandidáti v prezidentských volbách. The Theory of Self-Domestication in German Anthropology and Biology till 1945.

Concerned with the theory of self-domestication, claiming that humans have morphological, anatomical, physiological, behavioural or psychological traits typical for domestic animals, this master's thesis attempts to describe how anthropological and biological stories speaks to people and how people are shaped by them. Has given rise to eugenics and racial hygiene, the idea implicit to this theory that the practice of animals domestication and cultivation can be applied to humans, is still relevant when speaking of genetic engineering.
