Dynamic Image Presentations Using Depth Maps
Hanzlíček, Jiří ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis focuses on the dynamic presentation of still photography using a depth map. This text presents an algorithm that describes the process of creating a spatial model which is used to render input photography so that the movement of virtual camera creates parallax effect due to depth in image. The thesis also presents an approach how to infill the missing data in the model. It is suggested that a guided texture synthesis is used for this problem by using rendering outputs of the model themselves as guides. Additional information in model allows the virtual camera to move more freely. The final result of the camera movement can be saved to simple video sequence which can be used for presenting the input photography.
Augmented Reality on iOS - Displaying of Map Features in Terrain
Bezák, Adam ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis aims to improve the user's orientation in terrain using his smartphone and augmented reality. By combining these two elements and cost-free OpenStreetMap database of geographic data, is possible to show nearby map features from the maps or show additional information about nearby objects. The resulting technology is used in implemented iOS application called Water Radar. This application displays nearby water streams (or other water objects) relative to the GPS position of the user. The application also uses Google Elevation API, in order to enable displayed water streams to follow the landscape.
Postcognitivistic HCI: Seeing interface as a sociotechnical relation
Ferenc, Jakub ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor) ; Malečková, Dita (referee)
(in English): This thesis focuses on the theories of Human-computer interaction, called by the selected authors "postcognitivistic", that react critically to the cognitivistic approach of the first- wave HCI. The working hypothesis of this work is to view the broader context of interface of technological objects as a medium of a sociotechnical relation between technological artefacts, human actors and the society. The goal of the thesis is to develop a theoretic-philosophical analysis and the comparison of how the primary sources focused on the HCI theory and sociotechnical systems, together with the chosen literature on the new media theory and philosophy of technology, contribute to the contemporary discussion about the contextual aspects of HCI, including the question of how seeing the interface as a sociotechnical relation influences the work of the designers who have to deal with the complexity of contemporary design problems.
Mobile App for Acquisition and Processing of HDR Images
Michalák, Patrik ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
The goal of this paper is to create an application that solves HDR image processing problems and focuses to interactivity with the user, offering him more opportunities in clear and minimalistic graphic user interface. Application generate HDR content by merging a series of low dynamic range images with different exposure time values. The solution provides work with HDR photography, four tone mapping methods and various tools for user.
Algorithms for Automatic Image Cropping
Ambrož, Vít ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is study and implementation of methods that can automatically crop images, so the result has good usability from a photographic view. In this thesis are made experiments with three methods and possible optimalizations are discussed. The properties of cropping algorithms are also described here and the evaluation of implemented algoritmhs is made according to user testing.
Web App for Capturing New Shots of Historical Photographs
Sikora, Martin ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and implement a web application focused on rephotography management. Analyze existing solutions, create list of features and simple graphical user interface. It also includes a design of API structure to communicate with the mobile application. Essential application requirements include adding photos on a map and combining different photos in a photo editor with enhanced auto-alignment features.
Online System for Visual Geo-Localization in Natural Environment
Pospíšil, Miroslav ; Čadík, Martin (referee) ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is creation of an online system serving as a performing application for presentation results of visual geo-localization in nature and mountain environment. The system offers the users to choose one of the pre-defined photographs or~to~upload one's own photography while choosing a file or inserting an URL address. The~system will localizate a camera of a given image based on a visual geo-localization. The~geo-localization uses the mountain horizon as a key characteristic when searching for similar horizons. The~curve line of the horizon is extracted by a fully automatic algorithm based on supervised learning and dynamic programming. Visual geo-localization running on the server which using new inversed index with cache politic. This allows further scaling of the system. The server processing detected horizon curve and respond with set of the best candidates on results. Results are visualised to the user in form of classic map, detailed sattelite view and rendering of found panorama.
A Set of Web Tools for Visualization Geo-Location System Performance
Hodoval, Pavel ; Pavelková, Alena (referee) ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor)
Aim of this thesis is to create a set of web tools and web user interface to present the results of geo-location system. Thesis contains introduction to theory of data visualization in cartography and basic image processing algorithms. Also there is a research of existingsolutions and tools as well as available web technologies. As a result, a library for geographic data processing and visualization was implemented and its results are shown as web map presenting geographical and statistical data. Quality of the implementation was verified and tested by user test and automated machine test with mostly positive results.
Image Completion Using Depth Maps
Valeš, Ondřej ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement aplication for dataset driven scene completion utilizing data from similar dataset images and test the posibility of generating data used in reconstruction directly from depth map. For scene matching in dataset novel modification of GIST descriptor including depth data is used. Furthermore, depth maps can be used to split reconstructed image into parts with similar depth, simplifying reconstruction process. Part of this thesis is also computing GIST descriptors for datset images and implementation of tools for searching datset for similar images using depth maps.
Mobile Robot Localization in Indoor Scenarios
Sýkora, Tomáš ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
The goal of this project was to create a software for an autonomous mobile robot capable of navigation in indoor scenarios and of detection and recognition of the objects on its way. An important condition that the final software had to meet was to find the cheapest solution possible. I achieved the given goal and its conditions using an open source software framework Robotic Operating System (ROS) and its tools. The final system is a set of ROS modules communicating with each other, using a single sensor as an input data stream and a small motor which is able to send information about its velocity and rotations to the control part of the system. This mobile robot can, without any significant problems, navigate through a mapped area while trying to find trained objects. Such a robot could be easily used (after adding specific mechanical parts) to help retired or disabled people, to cooperate with industry workers or in many other fields.
