Felis versus Felix - Symbolic and narative content (of Cat) in Art and Art education

The theme of this diploma thesis is Felis versus Felix - symbolical and narrative content within art and arts education. This thesis is both theoretical and practical study of the topic. Theoretical part is concerned with understanding key words, their meaning, cat itself, its symbolic, history, properties, and connotations connected to it. The author of the thesis maps the occurrence of cat in art and literature, which she supports by specific examples. She further offers using the theme of the thesis in arts education and introduces already existing art set called "Animal within us". The author proposes another possibilities of using the theme within pedagogical practise. Practical part of the thesis stems from results of heuristic preparation. It contains two sets of art works of various but interconnected nature.
Animation and Animated Film in Art Education

The thesis deals with the use of animated films in art education. It presents animation as a modern and accessible form of education which stimulates children's creativity, social and communication skills and their ability to teamwork. It describes the positive potential of animation in education as well as some problematic issues and their feasible solutions. The author builds on the best practise of Czech and foreign teachers and practitioners of the education of animation but also on her own experience in the field. The text is supplemented by a blog website that makes the experience accessible to teachers interested in the topic and to the general public. Jan Pfeiffer ABSTRACT: The diploma thesis examines different forms of humor through the eyes of selected theorists, artists or myself. It highlights the importance of humor in both life and teaching. Humor is seen as a tool, providing choice. It allows asking questions indirectly, it helps relieving the pressure or stress and develops creativity. It disrupts too serious social structures and thus revives itself. The objective of this thesis to defend the positive impact of humor on society, family, and teaching. I started thinking more about humor when I moved from my family. I missed its humor so much, and I realized, how important factor in life it is. This created an installation that captures family atmosphere, in which humor naturally arises. I reflect my relationship with my family, that has always been my big inspiration. At the very beginning, there were drawings from my diary captured in Prague, from my time when I was away from my home. Subsequently, audios recorded during family lunches. PhDr. Martin Raudenský, Ph.D. Abstrakt: This thesis deals with the creation of graphical worksheet (author of the book) in the form of illustrations associated with the text that will serve as an educational tool in institutions such as art galleries and museums with similar functionality as the gallery animation. Books (worksheet) are designed for production intended for children, with the parents, adolescents, or even random visitors. I created a variant of the worksheet has drafted according to the age of the users. Author book (worksheet) applies to a gallery and exhibition occurring in it. Work packages are factually created in two variants - package for a family with children or a group of younger pupils in colored graphic design and enhanced content for creating things. A simplified package for older visitors gallery, only with a pencil, which is even less economically demanding. The thesis deals with comics as a peculiar art which is suitable for education too. It defines concepts as art, illustration, comics or learning book. The thesis inquires into function and using of illustrations in learning books. It shows some examples of contemporary comics' production, focuses on theoretical angle of this medium and offers confrontation with other media. And finally it goes to using comics for creating a learning book, and it shows some aspects why is comics adequate device.
