The vanished village of Přísečnice in the memories of its inhabitants

This thesis explores the history of Přísečnice, a no longer existing village in the district of Chomutov, which had to give way to a construction project for a drinking water reservoir and dam of the same name in the early 1970's. The first part of the thesis briefly describes the history of Přísečnice up until 1945; the second part focuses on the village developments after World War II until its destruction. The latter part describes how the village evolved in the 1940's and 1950's, and depicts the municipal life in the 1960's as well. It also discusses the reasons why a decision was made to create the reservoir, traces back the construction project negotiations and the issues that arose at that time due to the plan to ruin Přísečnice and the surrounding settlements. This part also describes the actual process of destroying the village, which started by eliminating the cemetery early in 1970 and ended with the demolition of the last houses in 1974. The third part of the thesis reports on the lives of Přísečnice's former inhabitants after their relocation and looks at their current feelings toward the location where they had spent longer or shorter periods of their lives. Beginning of Women's Ice Hockey in Kladno

The subject of this work is the beginning of women's ice hockey in Kladno, Czech Republic. This study deals with the continuity of the team in its early years from 1986 to 1992. The author uses Clifford Geertz interpretative approach to culture and oral history as a method. The rise of Kladno women's hockey club is shown in the context of women's hockey history in the World and Czechoslovakia. The story of the club is based on analysis and interpretation of interviews which were led with seven hockey players from the first generation. The work shows everyday life of hockey players in Kladno and also shows the dynamic of the team life in late eighties. The whole story is situated in social and sport life in Kladno, where ice hockey was very popular game and entertainment. As a crucial factors, which helped the preservation of the club after it was abandoned by its founders, were identified firstly the transition of the team from "friendship first" club to the team where it is mostly important "what happened on the ice" secondly the ability of the first hockey players to accept new joiners. The paper explains founding of the tradition of one sport club in former Czechoslovakia.
Contacts of countrymen from FRG and Austria with Czechoslovakia (1947 - 1967)

This master's thesis is aimed at the communication of Czechoslovak countrymen living in the Federal Republic of Germany (former West Germany) and Austria with Czechoslovakia during 1947 - 1967. The aim of the thesis is to find out how they've remained in contact with their homeland during the communist regime. The research is based on the study of the archival materials resulting from the activities of the Czechoslovak Foreign Institute, the institution which has been concerned with life of our countrymen until now. This thesis mainly analyses the contents and structure of the countrymen's correspondence with the institution as well as it describes the character and duration of the countrymen's visits to the homeland. The final part of the thesis is dedicated to analysing various forms and realizations of Czechoslovak former regime's ideological influence on the countrymen enforced by the Czechoslovak Foreign Institute as well as other institutions, like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since none of the communication of Czechoslovak offices with the emigrants was free of ideological propaganda. Supply of non-durable goods and services in Opava during the time of so-called normalization

This thesis is going to discuss the supply of non-durarable goods in Opava and the accessibility of different services for its inhabitants during the time of so-called normalization. It will examine what services and non-durable goods were available in Opava and its surroundings and what services and non-durable goods was Opava lacking as well as the level of satisfaction of local people with the scale of supply of those goods and services. The thesis will follow the transformation of public spaces in the city with regard to the change of discussed supply. Relevance of this thesis is strengthened by interviews with contemporary witnesses associated with this area. Oral history as one of the methods of research will also be used for this approach. This method in the area of contemporary history, the most important epoch in this thesis, is working with the fact that participants of the reviewed period are still alive and can comment past events based on their own experience and memories.
Sources and Consequences of the Slovakian Political Crisis in 1947

The three years lasting postwar period in Czechoslovak history, sometimes denoted as the "Third Republic", still deserves attention of the historical research in the Czech Republic. The 1947 autumn political crisis in Slovakia is undoubtly one of the most important issues of that historical period. The aim of this thesis is to point out the sources, the process and consequences of this political crisis that is nowadays recognized as a "litmus paper" of the following "coup d'etat". First parts of the thesis analyse the collapse of the nondemocratic regime of the Slovak Republic as well as the framework of the political system of Czechoslovakia and its main features. The following part deals with circumstances of the general elections that took place in May 1946, elections, that resulted in a quite unexpected win of the Democratic Party in the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia. The political situation in Czechoslovakia deteriorated, as the year 1947 continued. It developed into a deep political crisis in autumn, preceded by a campaign against the alleged subversive complot against the state authority. Property loss of the czech families - nationalization and restitution of the real estates, qualitative research

The topic of the thesis is post-war nationalization of the Czech inhabitants' properties into the state's ownership with reflection for the property return to the hands of the original owners, or rather to the hands of their heirs by means of the restitution proceedings. The restitution started in early 1990's and it is still in progress. The main target is to find out in what way have both transactions taken place, in what way the propertyless families have been affected, and last but not least, how the restitution has influenced being of the family in the last twenty after- revolution years, as well as how the related family perceived recent situation and finally in what way have been violated perception of justice regarding private ownership sanctity. The empirical part of the thesis is built on interviews with 5 chosen narators, who have been recorded by oral history technique. The basic question of the thesis is "family relation to the property" in progress of the researched years of 1948 - 2012. The main idea of the research is based on impulses given by the relation of the society to the unchangable history in connection to the change of legal relations, which is being brought by every new period.
Prague Scouts during the normalization era - Memories of Scout Leaders

This paper focuses on the era of Normalization, specifically on history of the scouting in Prague in years 1968 - 1970. It describes history of the movement in this period and, through the method of oral history, explores main approaches of scout leaders regarding the end of the organisation. It searches, with the help of the concept of collective memory, for the main reasons of different views and expectations, including their roots in the history and future consequences. In the end it also pursues individual stories of scout functionaries on the background of big history. The Fragmented Municipal Structure of the Czech Republic and Its Political Aspects

This thesis deals with the issue of the fragmented municipal structure in the Czech Republic and its political aspects. The opening part includes the circumscription of the topic, characterizes a municipality as a territorial self-government unit, it also tries to outline the miscellaneous interpretatons of the term "small municipality". Next chapter compares municipal structure of European countries with focus to municipal structure reforms and intermunicipal cooperations in selected European states. This part is n't followed by the description of the historical development of urban and municipal structure in the Czech Republic and the influence of its current form on municipal political systems and party systems of the municipalities. The thesis then observes the options of recent voluntary inter7municipal cooperation in the Czech Republic. Next chapter describes the shared tax income of municipalities as intended "catalysator" of the amalgamation of Czech municipalities. The penultimate sector deals with the reforming propositions of the urban structure as seen in project of the Operative Group for Issues of Small Municipalities created by Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. Evalution of the Financial Situation in the Firm

Bachelor thesis is focused to evaluace the performance of the Zemědělské družstvo se sídlem ve Sloupnici. The aim of this work is to provide the financial analyse of this cooperative during the time period starting 2008 to 2010. The theoretical part is devoted to the financial analyse. It deals with the information sources, phases and finanacial analysis methods and with particular indicators calculations. The practical part consists of cooperative description, the financial analyse of the financial results and summary financial situation of the company. in conclusion are mentioned possible solutions of the problems of the cooperative. There are used the vertical and horizontal analyses, flow and proportional indicatorst and bankruptcy and creditworthy models in the thesis.
