Electrochemical properties of synthetic drugs 3-fluorophenmetrazine and 4-methylpentedrone
Jiroušková, Eliška ; Schwarzová, Karolina (advisor) ; Dejmková, Hana (referee)
The aim of this Thesis was to clarify electrochemical properties of two new psychoactive substances. These substances are an alternative to classical drugs because they are not controlled by current legislation. It is important to determine the metabolites of these substances to be able to detect them in organism. Their electrochemical properties could explain the process of the first phase of biotransformation in human organism. Two synthetic stimulants were studied - 3-fluorophenmetrazine and 4-methylpentedrone, used as substitutes for cocaine or ecstasy. The purity of substances was controlled by HPLC with UV/Vis diode array detector and the stability was verified by UV/Vis spectrophotometry. Electrochemical properties were studied in phosphate buffer using cyclic voltammetry. For both substances was calculated theoretical HOMO and LUMO spatial distribution. This information was important to estimate parts of molecules, that can be reduced or oxidised. The analytical method was developed on glassy carbon electrode using differential pulse voltammetry. Substance 3-fluorophenmetrazine was determined in phosphate buffer pH 9,0 with limit of detection of 5,1 µmol l-1 . The linear range of calibration curve is from 7,0 to 107,0 µmol/l, R = 0,9988. 4-methylpentedrone was determined in phosphate...
Kinesiophobia, her predictors and consequences in selected chronic diseases - theoretical review
Schwarzová, Kristýna ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Plevková, Lucia (referee)
Title: Kinesiophobia, her predictors and consequences in selected chronic diseases - theoretical review Objectives: To review the issue of the occurrence of kinesophobia in various chronic diseases and to identify its predictors. Methods: The diploma thesis was prepared in the form of a literature search using electronic resources of the National Medical Library, the Central Physical Education Library and professional databases Pubmed, EBSCO, SCORPUS, Medline, Web of Science. The first half of the work summarized all the theoretical background and knowledge of kinesophobia and selected chronic diseases. The second half was focused on the processing of the issue of kinesophobia in selected chronic diseases and on the mapping of their predictors. Results: Based on the processing of available resources dealing with the issue of kinesophobia in selected chronic diseases, a comprehensive overview was created. In patients with chronic low back pain, high levels of kinesophobia were most often associated with chronic pain, functional impairment associated with the disease, obesity, low levels of education, and emotional states (anxiety, depression). In coronary heart disease, high levels of kinesophobia were associated with a lack of understanding of the need for physical activity, social support,...
Study of electrochemical behaviour of tauroursodeoxycholic acid at mercury-based electrodes
Pišnová, Kateřina ; Schwarzová, Karolina (advisor) ; Navrátil, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with electrochemical behaviour of tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) at silver solid amalgam electrode modified by mercury meniscus (m-AgSAE), polished silver solid amalgam electrode (p-AgSAE) and hanging mercury dropping electrode (HMDE). This thesis is a part of a bigger scientific research that deals with synthesis and characterization of supramolecular systems based on natural steroid compounds and its conjugates. TUDCA offers one reduction peak at m-AgSAE in the environment of Britton - Robinson buffer in range of pH 6.0 - 13.0. The potential of this peak is around −1200 mV. Using cyclic voltammetry was determined that the process on the electrode surface is quasireversible, the reduction is controlled by diffusion and the anodic process is controlled by adsorption. Concentration dependence measured at HMDE by direct current voltammetry in 0.04 mol∙l-1 borat buffer (pH 9.1) is linear in two concentration intervals - 1∙10-3 - 2∙10-4 mol∙l-1 and 1∙10-4 - 8∙10-6 mol∙l-1 of TUDCA. There was no linear dependence between the increase of concentration of TUDCA and the height of the peak obtained on amalgam electrodes by methods DC, DP, cyclic and "square-wave" voltammetry. On HMDE was in several short concentration intervals measured by a CV method a linear dependence of cathodic and...
Factors influencing electrochemical oxidation of m-cresol at boron-doped diamond electrode
Procházková, Kateřina ; Schwarzová, Karolina (advisor) ; Vyskočil, Vlastimil (referee)
This study investigates electrochemical oxidation of m-cresol on boron-doped diamond electrode using direct current voltammetry (DCV), differential pulse voltametry (DPV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). In aqueous media in pH range 2.0 - 12.0 m-cresol provides one oxidation peak. The electrode reaction is diffusion-controled. Because of electrode passivation two types of pretreatment were applied for reactivation of electrode surface., i.e. alumina polishing and anodic activation using potential of +2400 mV. Peak heights and potentials are strongly dipending on the type of pretreatment for DCV and DPV - the difference in peak potentials can reach 430 mV. Using optimal conditions for alumina polishing in 0.01 μmol·L-1 NaOH the linear dynamic range is 1.0 - 75 μmol·L-1 for DCV and 0.75 - 75 μmol·L-1 for DPV. And for anodic activation in BR buffer pH 2.0 the linear dynamic range is 0.75 - 75 μmol·L-1 for DCV and DPV. The influence of boron-doping level was investigated using a semiconductive and mettalic-type BDD film. For the latter the sensitivity in DP voltammetry is two times higer and for both types the linear dynamic range is ca 1 - 25 μmol·L-1 . The voltammetric response of m-cresol was further investigated in the presence of cationic surfactants. In the presence of CTAB and CPB the peak current...
