The rythmic feeling of preschool children and the music component of the Good start method

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the rhythmic feeling of children aged 5-7 years in connection with the music element of The Good Start Method. The aim of the diploma thesis is to present the issue of connecting psychology and music for the use in pedagogy, with emphasis on The Good Start Method. Using my own research, i evaluate its theoretical basis, practical use and point out its problematic parts and try to find a possible improvement of this method. The theoretical part deals with the description of the use of the rhythmic element of music in accordance with the development of children's motor skills and the related development of their rhythmic feelings. It also focuses on a specific methodological approach to the development of musical abilities and related motor and graphomotor skills. The work is explicitly focused on the Czech version of The Good Start Method. This section focuses on the description and objectives of this method and it also presents its pitfalls, which are further mentioned and discussed in the empirical part of the work. Title of thesis: Use of musical fairy tale in the musical development of a preschool child The bachelor's thesis focuses on the phenomenon of musical fairy tales and possibilities of its application in the musically creative process. It represents a musical fairy tale as a mean to develop musical, physical, singing, instrumental and art creative activities. The work focuses on preschool children. It briefly characterizes their development in terms of the development of musical abilities. It presents a fairy tale as a way to creative activities. The theoretical part focuses on the musical fairy tale, its functions, comparison with folk tales and historical excursion. Moreover, it explains the developmental psychology of a child aged 5-6 years and the specifics for a given age, especially in terms of musical development. It also points to the educational aspect of the fairy tale and competence, which can be developed in the child through this musically dramatic genre. The practical part reveals the project of a musical fairy tale, which was carried out in the Kindergarten Telč. Musical Activities In The International Pre-Schools in Prague

This work analyses music activities of English-speaking children of pre-school age, attending international schools in Prague, following the British Curricula. The goal of this work is to develop and to validate teaching materials of musical activities, supporting children with different native languages from the language of the teaching material, those in transition period, and those with communication barriers, and to offer concrete implementation strategies for teachers of music in both Czech and international schools. The theoretical part compares Czech and British music curricula for pre-school children. It defines terms such as transition period and describes its course in Czech and international environments. Furthermore, it addresses the role of music during this stage of development and explains the concepts of project-based learning and music integration project. As theoretical underpinning for the practical portion, the work offers detailed discussion of musical factors, syllabic structure both in English and Czech language, and the variations in interpretation of musical fairy tales. The Selection of a Singing Repertoire for primary school pupils of classes 3. - 5.

This thesis deals with the possibilities of working with the selected writing repertoire in the 3rd-5th year of primary school. The aim is to present a wider range of musical activities with a focus on vocal activities for the five selected songs. The first part of the thesis consists of a theoretical part, in which we characterize the physical, psychological, musical and vocal development of pupils of younger school age. In the following chapters, we set out the criteria for selecting a singing repertoire and analyze selected publications in which we can be inspired in its selection. Based on the selected criteria, we present a sand repertoire compiled according to the course of the school year. For each selected song we present the introductory motivation, suggestions for talking about the song, training vocal exercises, recommended method of its rehearsal, dance rendition and instrumental accompaniment. For these songs, the reader will also find possibilities of inter-subject connection, for example with art education, drama education of homeland science or natural science. Thesis looks at parallel pensum of high school and musical education from the perspective of the teachers and students of Gymnasium and Musical School of Capital City Prague. Apart from the history and the foundation of musical classes, the paper mainly focuses on the research part which brings the teachers' views on for example the cooperation with their colleagues, their opinions on the appropriate school equipment, or what they themselves gained from teaching at the school. The thesis also looks at the school students and graduates. Using a survey, it attempts to find their opinions on the time demands of their studies, what they learnt at the school and how they retrospectively see their experience with it. Furthermore, the paper provides interviews with graduates, teachers and headmasters.

Reflection of the European Student Forum EAS in terms of up-to-date needs of Music education

The thesis deals with a reflection on European Student Forum 2018 and ascertains selected delegates'viewpoints concerning pre-graduate teacher education. The thesis compares resulting ideas with attitudes of selected Czech candidates studying at different faculties of education. The theoretical part describes music education factors such as teachers and students. It further models the notion of music education and its historical development in European context. The third part provides readers with some insights into music organizations, their goals and mission. The EAS organization and its Student forums have been emphasized. The practical part constitutes of the result analysis based on future music teacher's ideas (Student Forum delegates as well as Czech students). The second part further establishes student's experience regarding their pre-graduate and informal teacher education. Activating teaching methods in teaching process of music education

This diploma thesis deals with activating teaching methods and their application into a teaching process in music education. The theoretical part deals with specific methods; e.g. comics, pantomime, reflection, visualization of listening activities, live pictures, or didactic games. The choice of selected methods depends on the particular class sample in which the methods of music education were used. Besides that, it reflects the range of the thesis itself. The practical part focuses on the implementation of activating methods in the educational process. The research was realized at the first stage of elementary education, the classes and activating methods were chosen to cover all the grades. The age of middle childhood has typical features which are essential for the development of musical skill and abilities. The range of the first stage of elementary schools is beneficial for the full implementation of the methods into music lessons. The end of the thesis brings some examples of materials showing how to work with these methods in the music education process. The working sheets are meant for students of music education and other courses as a source of inspiration helping with cross-curricular cooperation.
