Sleep Problems in Children and Adolescents

( Sleep Problems in Children and Adolescents ) The main topic of the thesis is the issue of sleep in children and adolescents. The theoretical part deals with the physiology of sleep and sleep disorders. The practical part were processed by means of qualitative and quantitative research . The aim of our thesis and our research was to determine the incidence of sleep disorders in different age categories. The aim of the qualitative part was to determine the causes and effects of sleep disorders in children and adolescents. In practice , the qualitative part certainly importance , especially for teachers , case reports indicate that some other sleep disorders affect child development , behavior and school performance. In this thesis we compare the quantitative survey targeted four designated groups of children . One group of preschool children are 1-6 years old . The second group consists of a sample of pupils of primary school 7 - 11 years . The penultimate group of children at the elementary school , aged 12 - 15 years. The last group are secondary school students aged 16-18 years . At the beginning of quantitative research, we set three hypotheses. Hypothesis 1 were not confirmed . Testing of the sensitivity of bacteria on selected substances in school environment

The aim of this bachelor thesis lies in describing and executing of methods which are determining the resistance of various types of bacteria to antibiotics and selected common household disinfectants and also selected products for oral hygiene. Due to the structure of these methods they can be used f.e. in practical classes in grammar or high schools. Antibiotic discs and other supplies are used when examining resistence of bacteria towards antibiotics which are affordable for aforementioned schools. We can see the efficiency of various antibiotics and disinfectants and we can easily decide which ones are worth of purchase and which ones are not very functional alltogether. Last items tested are samples of mouthwashes and toothpastes. The mechanisms behind the efficiency of all these substances and the sensitivity of bacteries will be described either in practical and theoretical part of this thesis. Analysis of used Natural history and Biology textbooks in terms of anthropology, the morphology and anatomy of human

The thesis "Analysis of used Natural history and Biology textbooks in terms of anthropology, the morphology and anatomy of human" is largely empirical work. The aim was to determine the didactis and the difficulty of textbooks which are available in the Czech Republic for the 8th grade of elementary school. The work is complemented with research of using the textbooks in primary schools and lower grammar school in Trebic. The used methods were 2 analysis, according to the specific criteria and own questionnaire for teachers of the subject. Analysis of textbooks is based on the methodology of Prof. Průcha a Doc. Hrabí. Creation and verification of educational programs for students of lower secondary education in ZOO Pilsen

Title: Creation and verification of educational programs for students of lower secondary education in ZOO Pilsen The diploma thesis is focused on the ZOOs in the Czech Republic and their educational activities. The most examined one is Zoological and botanical garden in Pilsen, for which I created two educational programs including worksheets for students and teachers. The educational programs were then tested at a selected group of students from 8th grade of lower secondary school. The evaluation was based on the success of students in solving tasks in the worksheets. The practical output of this thesis are designed educational programs (methodology for teacher) and worksheets for ZOO Pilsen (programs Mysterious Africa, Far Australia) including correct solution.
Tick-Borne Diseases - Knowledge of High School Students

Tick-borne diseases are caused by a group of pathogenic microorganisms which are transmitted between animal and human population by vector which is most frequently tick. Evaluation of danger and perils of these diseases is important due to prevention and monitoring of current situation development. The most common tick-borne diseases in the Czech Republic are borreliosis, tick-borne encephalitis and ehrlichiosis. Rarely can we encounter bartonellosis, babesiosis, rickettsiosis and tularemia. All these diseases can have serious consequences and in critical cases they can result in death of the infected person. One of the basic and the most important of preventive measures which lower the risk of the infection by any tick-borne disease is prevention of tick encounter and eventually vaccination. Due to continual global warming we can expect that in near future ticks will spread even to locations which have been so far not suitable for their development. We can expect that we will even more frequently encounter tick-borne diseases - including diseases which were formerly not found in our territory or were very rare. Teaching skeletal-muscular system in high schools This thesis is devoted to the methods which are applicable to the teaching of biology. The aim of the thesis is to find out which methods are used at two distinctive high schools, compare and contrast them by the use of the students' feedback. It is devoted to the comparison of ŠVP of three subjects and student books that are used there. The practical part is based on the discussion with teachers and questionnaires for students that consequently serve as work sheets. Finally, the thesis compares the attitudes of students and teachers, and way of teaching at grammar school and vocational school.
Trombophilic states during pregnancy

The aim of this thesis is to summarize the available data concerning the influence of trombophilic states on the process of pregnancy and to present the results obtained by investigating the prevalence of congenital trombophilia in infertile women and its influence on the success rate of assisted reproduction. It is aimed at those interested in the problematics - be it professionals, medical students or women planning pregnancy or cannot get pregnant. The theoretical part draws data from literature written by leading Czech experts in the field and from scientific journals, included are also foreign sources. The practical part was executed with the kind permission of the PRONATAL s.r.o. centre for assisted reproduction. Autism and Zootheraphy

Title: Autism and zootherapy In my thesis I deal with the topic of using different kinds of zootherapy for people with various autistic spectrum disorders. The thesis has a goal to find out diverse possibilities which zootherapy can offer to people with autistic spectrum disorders. I focused on exploration what kind of zootherapy is suitable for the specific diagnosis or the other way around, what kind of zootherapy is not a good fit for a concrete diagnosis. In the thesis I also describe a various subtypes of autistic spectrum disorders including Asperger's syndrome. I co-operate with organizations which are engaged in assistance for people with autism spectrum disorders, medical treatment and rehabilitation, zootherapy or professional animal assistance training. Zootherapy is in a constant expansion and suitability of various kinds of this therapeutic method for each autistic spectrum disorder, or mentally and physically disabled is still a matter of contemporary research.
