Sugar factory of Dobrovice in years 1987 - 1993

This thesis deals with sugar production in Czechoslovakia in 1987 -- 1993. The issue is outlined by using the probe method in the sugar factory in Dobrovice. It describes the history and condition of the industry before 1989 which was controlled by central planning. It lists and characterizes changes in the sector after the transition to a capitalist system and market liberalization. It describes in detail the administrative, technical and financial developments in the sugar factory in Dobrovice. It examines the process of delimitation of the state company, the transformation into a joint stock company by privatization and the entry of foreign investors. The issue is elaborated on the basis of unpublished sources in the form of internal documents, which are archived in the factory and with using oral history method.
Changes in the Czechoslovak agriculture in the course of 1945 to 1948

The theme of the present paper is the post-war development of the Czechoslovak agriculture and the task of agriculture in the power-political intentions of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia within the three years of postwar development 1945 to 1948. The first part of the paper is concerned with the research of the origine and the forming of the new Government, the decreets of the president of the republic, the ownership changes, the soil reform and the immediate changes in agriculture taking place within this context. Included is also the role of the communist party and its agricultural policy. The following part of the paper relates to the political and economic development in the years 1945 to 1947, characterized by the elections in May 1946 and the ensuing controversy of political parties over agricultural policy. It researches also the development of the agricultural policy of the communist party on the basis of documents in the National Archives. The last part describes the process ending in the turn-over of the political system and is focused on the change of the agricultural policy of the communist party of Czechoslovakia and the scope of fulfillment of the hitherto aims of the communists and the opening of the collectivization process. The author has used in his paper the information derived from publications and articles, archives documents and the press media of the period.
Soviet foreign trade and political relations in the late twenties of the 20 century

In the thesis I will focus on the development of the economic situation of Russia and its foreign trade relations in the late twenties of the 20 century and changes in connection with the Stalin's rise to power. I focus on Stalin's personality, and I will try to prove that his actions in the mentioned period were not the result of mental illness, but personal power interests. I will also pay attention to trade relations with Germany in comparison with other European countries. Emphasis will be placed on the standard of living of the population and the associated transformation of Russia into a world power. I will use monographs, articles and sub-study of Czech and foreign origin, as well as published sources, for processing of the topic. From unpublished sources, I will focus on the study of documents in the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the National Archives in Prague.
Czechoslovak foreign trade 1945 - 1953

The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of international trade in Czechoslovakia from the end of World War II to the period of "sovietization". The author will examine foreign trade during the first post war years. He will concentrate on international trade in Czechoslovakia during 1945 -- 1953, especially on the problem of restricting trade with West European countries and strengthening ties with the Eastern bloc. The contribution of this paper consists mainly of creating a compact view of Czechoslovakian foreign trade after World War II until the end of the first five year plan (after the communist revolution).
Analysis of the arms export from Skoda Works and Zbrojovka Brno to the Little Entente countries in the 30th years of the 20th century

The history of Czechoslovakia and his position played a key role in developement of weapon industry in the interwar period. Because of the instability in this region, which was formed after First word War, the weapon industry started to develop much faster. At the early 1930s the weapon industry was already so robust, that the consequences of economic depression didn't slow it down as much as they slowed down the other industry branches. At 1930s was weapon industry influenced by condition of economy of theirs business partnes from Little Entente and by politic situation in neighboring countries. Business plans of companies producing weapons and weapon material were lagrely influenced by czechoslovak gowernment. Economic policy was used by czechoslovak gowernment like foreign policy. This fact largely influenced the behavior of weapon-producing companies in their trade relation with business partners in Little Entente.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the develoment of banking system in the Czechoslovakia during Great Depression between years 1929 - 1933/34. For outlining the context, it is important to briefly focus on the characteristics of the great Depression, its course inthe Czechoslovakia and its impact on paticular sectors in the Economy. the main part od the thesis is focused on the National Bank in Czechoslovakia, its monetary policy and its behaviour during the Depression, and also on the impact of Depression on commercial banks.
The analysis of the technical equipment of Czechoslovak household in 1970´s

Bachelor thesis contains a description of everyday life and consumer society in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic at 1970s. It is focused on technical equipment of contemporary households. The thesis is based on the hypothesis that during the seventies market offers to women household appliances they never had before. In more detail it analyzes the situation of the first automatic washing machines. The aim of my thesis was to discover what changes the automatic washing machine brought to the nature of women's work and also what were the differences of laundry technology between the Czechoslovakia and Western countries during the seventies.
Měnová politika v meziválečném Československu

The diploma work charts the evolution of monetary policy of interwar Czechoslovakia in the context of development of domestic economy. It puts emphasis on the foreign relationships. The most important sources are materials from the archives of Czech National Bank and articles of foreign authors. The goal of work is to evaluate our monetary policy from several perspectives, such as the adequacy of the then economic situation, the impact of decisions of monetary authorities on individual national economic entities, and finally determining the most important persons of Czechoslovak monetary policy.
Economic impacts of displacement of Sudeten Germans in the Karlovy Vary region

This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of forced displacement of German population on economic development of the Karlovy Vary region after the Second World War. Preliminary, the author weights up the role of Sudeten-Germans in the region in 1918--1945. Afterwards, he focuses on transfer of German-speaking inhabitants from the region after resumption of the Czech Republic. This thesis analyses immediate consequences of changes in the structure of population. It makes use of examples such as disappeared borderline communes, closedown of Sudeten-German companies or their nationalisations. Onward, this writing follows the inefficient level of workers in economically important professions as well as changes in social structuring of society and its standard of living. This thesis draws particularly from archival documents such as State provincial archives Karlovy Vary and Sokolov resident in Jindřichovice as well as unpublished sources of private provenience (recollections, memoirs) and chronicles of described communes in the Karlovy Vary region.
Czech resistance and Alois Eliáš

This diploma thesis focuses mainly on general Eliáš. The goal of this thesis is to explain the relationship of Alois Eliáš with the czech resistance during 1939-1942. The thesis analyses the resistance activities of Alois Eliáš and their hidden and public manifestations. The existence of Schmoranz's group and other important facts is resolved in this connection. Different forms of Czech collaboration are analysed as well, with special sight on Czech journalists. One part of this thesis deals with the economical benefits of Protectorate economy for the German economics.
