Analysis of the educational needs of pupils with behavioral problems

My bachelor's thesis is entitled "Analysis of the educational needs of pupils with behavioral problems". It iconsists of a literary survey of the field and a research proposal following the conclusions of the theoretical part of the work. Last mentioned is divided into three parts. The first one is dealing with educational needs of students (meaning needs of all pupils). The second one defines a group of students, which we refer to as "students with behavioral problems." And the third part analyzes their educational needs. Results of mentioned parts imply the need to focus on creating an school environment, which will prevent behavioral problems of pupils. Depressive symptoms in elderly people and their possible reduction in interaction with children

5 Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on depressives symptoms in elderhood and possible impact of interaction with children on these symptoms. The elderhood and its psychological characteristics are described in theoretical part. Afterwards the thesis describes depressives disorders in elderly, their prevalence, etiology and prognosis. In this part there is also one chapter about screening of depression in elderhood. A big part of this thesis is focused on protectives factors which can protect elderly people against depression and the most mentioned factor are social support and contacts with people. This information is followed by a chapter which deals with interaction with children and its benefits or possible risks during the interaction in intergenerational programs. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on some intergenerational programs. The outcome of the thesis is research proposal which would try to evaluate intergenerational programs which exist already in the Czech Republic and the research should answer the main question of this bachelor thesis if the interaction with children can reduce depressives symptoms in elderly people and/or protect the elderly against them.

František Jira Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Morávková Krejčová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This work focuses on problems of dyslexia in the adult population, especially among university students and graduates, and explores the possibilities of its assessment. The starting point of the thesis lies in its theoretical part, which first introduces the topic of dyslexia on a more general level (concept, definition, incidence, causes, symptoms, theoretical approaches to the study), second considers dyslexia in adults (psychosocial context, unoiversity study, work, family, common life) and finally talks about possibilities of dyslexia assessment in the adult population (detection of dyslexia in the process of psychological evaluation, selected methods for the diagnosis of dyslexia in adults in the Czech Republic and abroad). The empirical part of this thesis bases the basic idea of the research project on the theoretical background of the first part. Participants in the study were university applicants, students, and graduates. Teachers: burnout syndrom versus engagement and professional enthusiasm

The thesis is dealing with the problematics of burnout syndrome and engagement in teaching profession in different types of schools and grades. Its objective is to detect the degree of burnout in a selected sample of teachers and map the main determinants of contentment related to engaged teachers. The theoretical part defines the concept of burnout syndrome, its development, progress, signs, causes and diagnostics. It clarifies the development of burnout in teaching profession. Furthermore, it describes the key characteristics of engagement, the diagnostic methods and the relationship between teaching and engagement. The empiric part has two goals: to find out the degree of burnout in teachers and depict the essential factors which contribute to their engagement. The research was based on questionnaires and interviews and answered the research questions. The results are presented in tables and graphs. In conclusion, there are some suggestions how to lower the risk of genesis and growth of burnout syndrome. Aggressive Behaviour in Families Focused on Work with Children Exposed to Domestic Violence

This bachelor thesis introduces term "aggression", "aggressiveness" and their mutual relation. At the same time it mentions basic theories of development of aggression and describes connection of aggression with violence. Next it concentrates on aggressive behaviour in families, when it focuses on phenomena of domestic violence. The thesis further pursues children who have been exposed to that violence and concentrates on its impacts within particular fields of children's lives. It introduces as well possibilities of work with these children, when it mentions therapy methods, realized programmes and organizations, which are concerned with this issue. Research part is based on research project, whose aim is to examine work with a projective method sandtray at children exposed to domestic violence by making case studies of these children on basis of used method sandtray together with interviews with a mother and a teacher of the child. Grandparents in the educational process

This bachelor's thesis concerns relationships of grandparents and grandchildren. The theoretical part focuses at the relationships from grandparent's and child's point of view. It describes the role of grandparents in education, interactions of children and grandparents and transformation of the relationship depending on the age of the child. The thesis also examines grandparents in the role of important adult and in the concept of intergenerational learning. There is a presentation of my research project in the second part. This project is focused on the transformation of the grandparents and grandchildren relationships along with the age of the children, and different expressions of the relationships depending on the grandparent's sex.
Raising a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This Bachelor thesis deals with raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Its primary focus is an impact of ASD diagnosis on raising a child and secondary it also introduces the basic principles of intervention, which are broadly used in raising a child with ASD. Literature review part of this thesis defines current approach of ASD. It also describes the impact of impairments in communication, social interaction and imagination on raising a child with ASD. Important principles of intervention in raising a child with this diagnosis, which are individualization, structuralization, visualization and motivation, are presented there as well. The second part of this thesis presents a proposal for qualitative research that aims to point out differences between how mothers and fathers accept the diagnosis, perceive the impact on family relationships and use the principles of raising a child with ASD. Proposed research should provide hypotheses which would serve as a foundation for future research.
Educational interaction teacher-pupil from the teacher's point

This rigorous thesis deals with self-assessment of a teacher's educational work, it looks for characteristics of pedagogical interaction and communication at basic and secondary schools reflected by the teacher. It also introduces current concept of upbringing and education, summarizes the most important facts on social and pedagogical interaction. Further on, the thesis describes the social communication process, deals with particulars of pedagogical communication, with the socio- professional role of the teacher and with the relationships of teachers and pupils in the school environment.
The positive influence of learning and activating methods, applied in a adulthood as a prequisite for active aging

My thesis focuses on the education of adults, with view to peculiarities of their development and with accent to the senior population. It deals with the impact of physiological changes in the period of interevium and senium, which significantly affect the level of learning and education, and subsequently also self confidence of an individual, activity of their approach towards old age and their perception of well-being. The author projects to her thesis her own feelings, attitudes, opinions and experiences. She works with mnemonics, which facilitate long-term memory and support healthy activity of an individual. She considers current needs of the senior population and has tried to depict them graphically in the form of a treetop. A survey in the form of a simple questionnaire was carried out among senior citizens in order to identify their interest in education and their understanding of learning as a prevention of active and healthy life in old age. The survey was participated in by 150 responders, mostly women, from the Center for Social and Nursing Services in Prague 10 and within the activities of the Civic Association Život 90.
