The construction of social workers' reactions of OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children) to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene in situations where a court petition may be filed to remove the child from the family

8 Abstract The Diploma thesis focuses on the construction of the reactions of social workers of OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children) to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene in situations when they deal with cases related to the possible removal of a child from the family and the related initiation of a court petition. In the theoretical part, the concept of dilemma is explained, including its setting in the framework of everyday dilemmas. Next, I discuss the setting in which the construction of reactions to the dilemma of whether or not to intervene occurs, which is the OSPOD (Authority of Social and Legal Protection of Children), and lastly, I present the structure of the construction of discourse using Gee's categories. The aim of the research was to answer the primary research question - " How do social workers of selected OSPOD construct reactions to the dilemma to intervene or not to intervene when filing a court petition to remove a child from the family?". The findings showed what specifically plays a role in these dilemma situations for social workers in their thinking about the dilemma. The Diploma thesis "The importance and responsibilities of the Curator for youth in the Capital City of Prague" focuses on explaining of work of curators for youth, his responsibilities and work with institutions, which cooperate with curators. Whole topic is hugely supported by case studies of clients. This work consists of introduction which characterizes the aim of the thesis. Next part contains basic terms and describes activity of the curator for youth. Diploma thesis also focuses on institutions, responsibilities and difficulties of work of curator for youth. Next part is about cases. This part consists of case studies of clients, these case studies are from clients of department of social prevention from curators for youth of Prague 10. Next part is The Discussion, which compares differencies between theory and practise. This Diploma thesis contributes to understanding the work of curators for youth.

Child Sexual Abuse Syndrome

Thesis CSA syndrome in children, examines current issues of sexual abuse and its consequences. The theoretical section deals with the history of sexual abuse, contemporary view on this issue and the legal treatment of offenders and victims. Furthermore, thesis acquaints readers with various types of sexual abuse and marginally with commercial abuse. The aim of the research in the practical section of the thesis is to ascertain the level of awarness of students in this issues, together with their own personal experience concerning sexual abuse and whether they have any sexually abused person in their vicinity. The quantitative research was conducted at the elementary school Drtinova.

The Approach of Children Helplines Consultants toward suicidal Clients

The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the problem of suicidal behavior of children, adolescents and young adults as well as the kind of work with such people in telephone crisis intervention. The theoretical part is based primarily on literature written by Czech as well as foreign authors. It describes the phenomenon of suicide, forms and kinds of suicidal behavior with the focus on the influence of developmental characteristics to a suicidal crisis within the above mentioned focus group. Further the specific ways of work and approach to this group of clients are mapped from the point of view of telephone intervention. The ethics of working with a client is treated as a subtheme of this thesis. The practical part studies the approach of workers in phone intervention to suicidal clients and the way workers deal with possible ethical dilemmas. A methodological approach of qualitative research with semi-structured interview was applied. Interviews were conducted with selected participants from Linka Bezpeci.

Prostitution as a psychosocial and social problem

Graduation theses "Prostitution as a psychological and social problem" is about prostitution and related issues in a social area. In my theoretical part I concetrated to prostitution from a historical prespective where we can see a major changes in a view of its operation. Also it contains definitions of basics concepts related to the topic. In addition to this I focused to problems associated with prostitution in a form of criminal behavior also in a form of impact on psychosocial development of persons attend to commercial sex. I concentrate to reasons of inception of this behavior. In a research part I tried to use my theoretical knowledge used in this work and find out what is the view of young people on issues of commercial sexual abusing. I created a questionnaire by which I managed to determine what is the subconsciousness of students of Hussite Theological Faculty in mentioned issue and what is their experience in this area. In the end of my work I summarized the results of my theoretical and research part and tried to propose solutions.
