Comparative analysis: Virginia Woolf Mrs.Dalloway and Michael Cunningham Hours
Procházková, Lucie ; Kubíček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
Adeline Virginia Woolf ( 25 January 1882 - 28 March 1941) was an English writer, and one of the foremost modernist of the first half of the twentieth century. In 1925 she wrote her best-known novel. This novel details one day in June of 1923 in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, who organizes a party for his husband and her friends. The second plane is the story of a war hero's Septum Smith, who is haunted by the consequences of the horrific events in the form of insanity, even after five years from the end of the conflict. Although these two characters never meet, their lives are linked to mental basis. Thanks to Septum's suicide occurs reflection of Clarissa Dalloway and "fusion" of the two characters. Woolf does not put emphasis on the story, but to capture a fleeting moment of time, which leads to death. Literary constructs in the form of the characters are carriers of many existential themes such as death, conventions, elusiveness time. Woolf offers readers the technique of stream of consciousness and the technique of monitoring characters and events from multiple perspectives. The result is a characteristic of the characters through the other characters and the internal monologues of the characters themselves. The novels of Virginia Woolf assume a perceptive reader, educated, having an overview of...
Legal Protection of the Environment and the Human Health against the Effects of Selected Physical Factors
Procházková, Lucie
204 Abstract This thesis is focused on the legal protection of the environment and human health from the effects of selected physical factors, especially noise, vibration and ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. In the introduction the thesis defines the every singe physical factor, reminds their effects on the environment and the health and life of humans and especially suggests possible measures to eliminate the negative effects of these factors. The emphasis is placed on clarifying the consistency of these measures with the means of protection. Subsequently, the thesis includes separate chapters devoted to European, Czech and selected international legal instruments of protection from selected physical factors and their comparison. One of the key questions to be dealt in the thesis is the effort to clarify whether and how does the legislation in different countries exploit physical similarity between the studied factors. Another question to answer is to what extent is it (for the effective protection of the environment, life, health and other values) useful to accurately identify and name the sources of threat, and whether the case-focused legal protection, anchoring extensively detailed rules for each previously known source of threat, actually leads to more efficient protection against various sources...
Determination of antimicrobial activity of berry fruit extracts
Procházková, Lucie ; Veselá, Mária (referee) ; Vítová, Eva (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor´s thesis was the determination of effect of model sample of chokeberry extract (Aronia melanocarpa) on selected types of microorganisms (bacteria Bacillus cereus and Escherichia coli, yeast Candida glabrata). Two commercially available samples of natural extracts from raspberry and cocoa were selected and analysed for comparison. Theoretical part is focused on characteristic, composition and properties of mentioned plant materials, there are also listed their uses in pharmacy, medicine and cosmetics and possible methods of determination of antimicrobiological activity. Analysed commercially available samples of raspberries and cocoa don´t show any antimicrobial activity to selected microorganisms with the exception of 100% raspberry extract on Candida glabrata. There was growth promotion of colonies in the surroundings of the extract in other microorganisms. Ethanol extract of chokeberry fruits showed growing antimicrobial activity with increasing concentration of the extract. The strongest potential was observed in yeast Candida Glabrata and in bacteria Bacillus cereus. The bacteria Escherichia coli was completely resistant.

Procházková, Lucie ; Kubíček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
This work is an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the 1960s through an in-depth analysis of selected literary autobiographies. The first section is devoted to the theoretical foundation for exploring the chosen four texts of autobiographical literature. It is based on the analysis and subsequent comparison diaries of Ivan Diviš and Pavel Juráček and the memory of Vaclav Černý and Ota Filip. Additionally, this paper examines how these writers created an image of the 1960s and early 1970s.mFurther exploration includes narrative elements, for example, by what means texts are constructed, character space time, composition, and relationship to the audience. Moreover, the meaning of writing autobiographical literature, specifically the selected works, will be explored. Lastly, these major themes set the stage for the comprehensive analysis of the authors' works, revealing the creative design, history, society and culture of their time.
Weigth-height proportionality and subcutaneus fatt distribution in preschool children
Procházková, Lucie ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Hana (referee)
In the Czech Republic occurred a change of lifestyle in recent decades, there was an increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity, and even for preschool children. With these changes can be related as well as the increasing number of children with bad posture. The aim of this research was to analyze weight parameters, body composition, fat distribution and its effect on posture in preschool children. Another aim was compare different methods for calculating the amount of body fat and see if it show the same clinical validity. Furthemore, we compared the measurement of the abdominal circumference with waist circumference in absolute and in relative form, these parameters are often used interchangeably. They are usedto detect fat distribution and estimate the amount of body fat. To determine the distribution of fat is also used centrality indices, which we also compared with abdominal and waist circumference. Our aim was also to evaluate the clinical validity in determining the type of fat distribution. The study included 208 children (101 boys, 107 girls) aged three to six years, most of Prague and its surroundings. Comparing the SDS BMI and weight - height ratio showed a statistically significant difference between the set 2013 and standard. The difference in the values of BMI (p = 0,0006)...
Stalking
Procházková, Lucie ; Herczeg, Jiří (advisor) ; Gřivna, Tomáš (referee)
in English My thesis is focused on the criminal offence of "nebezpečné pronásledování" (dangerous harrasement as literally translated into English) under the section 354 of Czech Criminal Code. The offence was added to the Criminal Code recently, in order to allow criminal prosecution of stalking. In the past, the absence of special antistalking law has caused serious problems because of insufficient protection of victims. As the criminal prosecution of stalking has been possible for 3 years, I was convinced that the effectiveness of the provision should be evaluated and suggestions for de lege ferenda should be made. The thesis is divided into three major parts and each of them is further subdivided into chapters and subchapters. The first part of the thesis (represented by chapters 1 - 5) focuses on the obligatory elements of a criminal offence, this is the section of the thesis which analyzes and compares opinions of scholars with the opinions expressed in their judgements of judges. Subsequently, observed insufficiencies and inconsistencies are described and the suggestions on how to eliminate these insufficiencies are brought forward. In some cases relevant foreign legislation is mentioned and serves as a certain source of inspiration for suggestions for de lege ferenda. Chapter One is...

Effect of latent toxoplasmosis on the thyroid function during pregnancy
Procházková, Lucie ; Kaňková, Šárka (advisor) ; Springer, Drahomíra (referee)
While several past studies dealt with the effects of latent toxoplasmosis on the function of the thyroid gland and on the pregnancy separately, the former one with varied results, this work combines the two areas together with goals to determine whether the latent toxoplasmosis affects levels of antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (TPO) in the 1st trimester of pregnancy, to analyze the effect of toxoplasmosis on the levels of the thyrotrophic hormone and to learn whether the interactions between latent toxoplasmosis and autoimmune thyropathies affect conception, foetal development, length of pregnancy and mode of delivery in childbirth. The work follows on the recent years' discoveries of our laboratory that showed the latent toxoplasmosis to affect both the course of pregnancy and the prenatal development of a child. It also takes up directly on a screening of autoimmune thyropathies in pregnant women conducted in years 2006 to 2009 in General University Hospital. The retrospective study comprised of 1434 pregnant women who underwent serological examination as a part of the 1st trimester screening and whose serum was subsequently examined for toxoplasmosis. The data set obtained from medical databases contained results of serological screening of the mothers, ultrasound examination of the...
