Impacts of a state of emergency on the life quality of theater actors

The diploma thesis is mainly devoted to the quality of life of theater workers during the period of two new states in the Czech Republic in the spring and winter of 2020-2021. The aim of this work is to map the experiences of theater actors and to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences with the closing of theaters. We are also interested in what helps theater actors during this period and whether and how they perceived the differences in their experiences in the first and second state of emergency. The theoretical part of the work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is briefly devoted to terminological definition, the next chapter is focused on crises, extraordinary events and related topics, the third chapter is dedicated to the quality of life with a focus on the quality of life during the covid-19 pandemic here and abroad. The last chapter is focused on theater, the actor's personality and the specifics of theater work. The theoretical part is followed by an empirical part with qualitative methodologies. To fulfill the research objective, we used interpretive phenomenological analysis as a research method. The research is conducted as a series of semi-structured interviews with twelve theater actors and actresses.
The possibilities of facilitating posttraumatic growth in therapy

(in English): This thesis explores the possibilities of facilitating post-traumatic growth in the context of individual psychotherapy. The theoretical part summarizes the state of current knowledge on post-traumatic growth. In order to take a more comprehensive view, post-traumatic growth is situated within the broader framework of the trauma therapy process. The theoretical part is concluded with an introduction to the possibilities of facilitating post-traumatic growth. The empirical part deals with the experiences of practicing psychotherapists with post- traumatic growth within their individual practice. The qualitative research focuses on what therapists consider to be the goals of trauma therapy, how therapists conceptualize post- traumatic growth, in what areas and forms they encounter it in their clients, and how they believe they can influence it. Data are collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with nine psychotherapists and further analyzed using a thematic analysis method. Data analysis led to the discovery of sixteen major themes that relate to the therapist's way of thinking about and dealing with post-traumatic growth during psychotherapy sessions.
The relation between flow experiences and mindfulness

This thesis explores the relationship between flow and mindfulness. The theoretical part of the thesis defines common elements of both concepts and differences between them. The first quantitative research is a correlational analysis that examines strength of the relationship between flow in everyday activities as measured by the Dispositional Flow Scale-2 (DFS-2) and mindfulness as measured by the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) in the Czech adult population (N = 2129). Results showed a moderately strong correlation between flow and mindfulness (r = 0.54). DFS-2 dimensions challenge-skill balance, clear goals, unambiguous feedback, total concentration on the task at hand, and sense of control correlated most strongly with the FFMQ. Dimensions action-awareness merging and transformation of time were weakly negatively correlated with the FFMQ. A new English translation of the DFS 2 was created for the purpose of this study. Intimate relationships of people with schizophrenia

The thesis is dedicated to intimate relationships of people with schizophrenic disorder (F20). The aim of this study was to determine the importance of intimate relationships attributed by women and men with schizophrenia in young adulthood. Their experience, ideals and expectations of partnership were also investigated. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first chapter describes the illness of schizophrenia, its characteristics, etiology, epidemiology, symptoms, deficits in cognitive and social functioning as well as current treatments oriented at psychosocial intervention. In the second chapter, the topic of partnerships of common people is presented. The third chapter describes the theme of partnerships in persons with schizophrenic disorder itself. The empirical part is based on qualitative methodology. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 11 respondents, investigating intimate relationships and sexuality of people with schizophrenia. The results are properly described and afterwards discussed with the available literature. In the conclusion, it is recommended further research and intervention in social relationships among people with schizophrenia.
The Rey-Osterrieth complex figure: a specificity of performance in schizophrenic patients

This Master thesis focuses on the neuropsychological test called Rey-Osterrieth complex figure test and its diagnostic value in the clinical assesment of schizophrenic patients. Deficiency of cognitive functioning is a dominating feature in the clinical picture of schizophrenic patients. Attention is brought especially to the specific aspects of the ROCF performance in the clinical group of schizophrenic patients. Theoretical part is based on the realized investigative studies focused on the Rey-Osterrieth complex figure test and its value in cognitive assesment in psychodiagnostic praxis. The diagnostic method ROCF is presented in its complexity, the way of administration, assesment and interpretation are described and attention is also brought to the specific features of ROCF performance in healthy, neurological and psychiatric patients with focus on schizophrenic individuals. Empirical part of the thesis in the first section compares the ROCF performance of Czech healthy individuals and schizophrenic patients. The influence of demografic and other factors on the ROCF performance was analyzed and isolated elements of the figure and their difficultness was evaluated in both surveyed groups. Psycho-social factors in eating habits and their perception among athletes.

The main goal of the diploma thesis is to examine the issue of psycho-social contexts of eating habits and their experience in athletes. The theoretical part summarizes the findings to date on the issue of nutrition and eating disorders in athletes and possible preventive measures. The empirical part presents qualitative research on a sample of six Czech and Slovak athletes. The research is carried out through a semi-structured in-depth interview and three diagnostic questionnaires. The information obtained is processed into individual case studies and an overall summary. Due to the size of the research population and the nature of the study, it is not possible to generalize the results to the entire population of athletes. In a specific research cohort, all respondents had a negative comment related to body weight or physical appearance as a risk factor leading to nutritional problems. The main protective factor for all respondents was social support and support from their relatives. The outputs provide many recommendations for athletes, coaches and other specialists who work with athletes. The role of a psychologist in a long-term intensive care unit Dagmar Brejlová Abstract The thesis defines the role of a clinical psychologist in the long-term intensive care unit in MEDITERRA-Sedlčany, s. r. o. and reflects the present experience. In contrast to standard acute care, patients of this unit demand long-term intensive care stretching from a number of weeks to a number of years. The care focuses on physiotherapy, the treatment of associated diseases, practicing and developing new competencies and skills. The role of a psychologist in the long-term intensive care unit has not been defined yet. Thus, the theoretical part describes the structure and aim of the long-term intensive care unit, the possibilities and constraints of psychological cooperation with patients, their relatives and team members. The core of the thesis is a qualitative research based on ten case studies and a semi- structured questionnaire. The aim is to present the background of care and its critical appraisal, to describe its development and to suggest its future direction. Drug Abuse In Women suffering from Eating Disorder

This thesis concerns addictive substance abuse in women suffering from eating disorders. In the theoretical part it defines the term eating disorder itself and furthermore briefly works with the cause of these disorders, patients' personality and commonly associating complicating diagnoses. Afterwards it defines the term addiction and illustrates some of the possible influences on development. Then it characterises commonly abused substances and their relation with eating disorders. The empirical part consists of quantitative research, which is based on an questionnaire survey given on-line to participants in discussion forums on websites concerning eating disorders. It is supplemented with qualitative research based on personal semi-structured interview with women suffering from eating disordes.
Possibilities and limits of the Pesso Boyden psychomotor therapy in working with traumatized clients

Pesso Boyden psychomotor therapy (PBSP) belongs to a body-oriented psychoterapies that in their thought basis point to the importance of linking physical, emotional and cognitive components of each of us. The subject of the dissertation is: Possibilities and limits of the Pesso Boyden Psychomotor Therapy in working with traumatized clients and is focused on the psychological characteristics of the psychotherapeutic movement, which is processed by the available literature only to a limited extent. PBSP is presented in the context of working with traumatized clients. The theoretical part consists of two basic topics-introduction of practical and theoretical framework of PBSP and lead-in into issues of trauma. The theory of Pesso Boyden Psychomotor Therapy is expressed primarily through general psychological topics and developmental perspective on individual personality, PBSP practice is reflected in the detailed description of the psychotherapeutic process and approached by fictitious case report of PBSP. In the theory of trauma is particularly pointed out its genesis, heterogeneous definition of the term, both positive and negative symptomatology and treatment option for clients with traumatic history. Coping strategies of people with HIV

Facing a traumatic event, such as being diagnosed with HIV, require developing of coping mechanism. The purpose of this study in the theoretical part was to give a review of psychological aspects of HIV and inform about research of coping strategies among people with HIV/AIDS. The second purpose of this study was to show typical coping strategies of people with HIV in Czech Republic. Five asymptomatic participants were interviewed, the time since diagnosis was 3-14 years (mean age 7,6), the age in the sample was from 31 to 44 years, (mean age 36,0 years) It seems, that the way of reaction to diagnosis differ from the way they cope now, so the strategies can possibly change in the future. Our participants develop these strategies of coping: rational problem solving, self-appraisal, hedonism and religiosity/search for meaning
