The complexity of relationship of these entities creates legal vacuum, impression of lawlessness, which is harmful for the safety of American Indian women. Native American and Alaskan Native women are more than 2.5 times more likely to be raped than women in the USA in general.
The application of Spinning programme for changing women's physical condition
Čermáková Vrbská, Zuzana ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
The name of bachelor's final project: The application of Spinning programme for changing women's physical condition Objectives of this project: The main goal of project is to set an individual 6 week Spinning programme based on interventional fitness programmes for a middle aged woman to find out whether it will influence her physical condition or not. Methods: For stating whether the programme influenced physical condition following tests were done before and after the 6 week Spinning programme: Step test, Ruffier's index (evaluating physical condition), "Fit steps" (complex test), training cycle (evaluating aerobic endurance), Jacík's test (the motor system examination), complex muscle test. Also the BMI (Body Mass Index) was culated and a regular heart rate was measured. All the results were recorded in a chart in an Excel computer programme and interpreted. Results: The results of the tests performed after completion the designed 6-week spinning programme show that in five of the total six tests (i.e. in 83 %) the results and thereby also the performance improved, as compared with the same tests carried out before start of this programme. In one of the five improved cases, the grading remained unchanged and in the four remaining improved cases the grading got better (in two cases objectively,...

Kučerová, Petra ; Čermáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Marešová, Vilma (referee) ; Treml, František (referee)
SUMMMARY Title: "Molecular biological methods in laboratory diagnosis of pathogenic leptospires" During Ph.D. study programe real-time PCR method based on detection of gene encoding surface lipoprotein LipL32 was designed, devised and introduced into clinical laboratory practice of laboratory diagnosis of acute form of leptospirosis. Positive and negative analytical specificity 100 % in both cases was defined and limit of detection in range 1 - 5 copies of genome / ml of liquid biological material was determined. Real-time PCR method was in clinical practice on biological materials gained in period April 2010 - April 2013 from 295 patients suspicious on leptospirosis verified. Total number of 9 persons from whom 15 biological materials originated as LipL32 positive were evaluated. Real-time PCR was tested during the analysis of environmental samples for the presence of Leptospira. From 680 samples (surface water, waste water, wet substrates) were 5 real-time PCR reactions (0.7%) evaluated as borderline, results sequence analysis were repeatedly "uncultivable bacteria." All samples were as negative evaluated. From mention is clear that this method is not suitable for testing these materials. Multilocus sequence typing analysis detecting 5 genes (adk, icdA, rrs2, lipl41 and lipl32 gene) was used to create the...
The question of divorce in the Czech Republic and Germany in comparison
Čermáková, Zuzana ; Radvanová, Senta (advisor) ; Hendrychová, Michaela (referee)
In this thesis, I primarily deal with the question of divorce in the Czech Republic in comparison to Germany. The objective is to describe the legal regulation of divorce in general and the legal regulation of the visitation and education of children after the divorce and the historical development of the legal regulations. The thesis shows that the German legal regulation of divorce is often more detailed and elaborated. Finally, it is possible to state that both legal regulations are in the main part very similar and have the same principles.
Diagnostics of toxoplasmosis

CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Candidate: Bc. Kateřina Bajajová Supervisor: PharmDr. Barbora Voxová Title of diploma thesis: Diagnostics of toxoplasmosis Worldwide widespread parasite Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) is an agent of toxoplasmosis infection. This infection is the most widespread antropozoona and pertain to the most frequent infectious disease, because it affects about one third of population in its latent form. For immunocompetent people infection is not a risk, its progress is asymptomatic and it causes lifelong latent infection. On the other hand for some of patients means toxoplasmosis weighty medical problem. There are mainly people with immunodeficiency after reactivation of latent form of infection, the primary infection in pregnant women, the infection is transmitted from mother to fetus and newborns with the congenital form of toxoplasmosis. The disease can has in these cases very serious consequences and fatal process. The T. gondii infection can be diagnosed by several methods. Methods are divided into direct, aimed at finding a microbe in biological material, and indirect methods, in which serologically show antibodies against infectious agens. The direct methods include histological...
Comparison of results of two methods for laboratory diagnosing lyme borreliosis- PCR method and ELISA
Vargová, Radka ; Křivčíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Čermáková, Zuzana (referee)
Bc. Radka Vargová Comparison of results of two methods for laboratory diagnosing lyme borreliosis - PCR methods and ELISA Diploma thesis Charles University in Prague, Facutly of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Specialist in laboratory methods At present time the Lyme disease is relatively wide-spread affection. Its agent is spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato and its most eminent vector in Europe is the tick Ixodes ricinus. In the theoretical part of my thesis I decribed the basic characteristics of the genus Borrelia, its antigenic structure, epidemology and pathogenesis, disease vectors, clinical sypmtoms of the infection and possibilities of laboratory diagnostics. My thesis is aimed at comparison of dignostics of Lyme disease by using serological method ELISA and using method PCR. It was used 113 anonymized samples of patients for analyse. The samples were examined for the presence of the antibody against Borrelia in classes IgG and IgM and by using real-time PCR method they were examined for the presence of DNA pathogenic Borrelia. The experimental part of the thesis describes realization of the methods, which we have used for diagnostics of Lyme disease. In the results part is claimed that we noticed only one positive result within detection of Borrelia DNA (total positivity 0,88%). The...
The Comparison between Health Care Reform of W. Clinton and Health Care Reform of B. Obama
Čermáková, Zuzana ; Kozák, Kryštof (advisor) ; Sehnálková, Jana (referee)
Bachelor thesis The Comparison between Health Care Reform of W. Clinton and Health Care Reform of B. Obama deals with the health care system of the United States of America. The aim is to explore the mechanisms for securing affordable health coverage of the reform proposals of the last two Democratic presidents of the USA, The National Health Security Act and The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Despite a lapse of more than fifteen years the goals of proposals were the same. Both presidents called for reducing the federal deficit and the number of uninsured Americans. Analysis of the bills shows there are many similarities in the mechanisms for ensuring health insurance. Even if President Obama adopted a more conservative approach than President Clinton, both reform proposals were based on the system of managed competition and on the state intervention.
Awareness of public about risks of lyme borreliosis
Kafková, Martina ; Čermáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Skála, Bohumil (referee) ; Košťálová, Jaroslava (referee)
The bachelor's work deals with clinical picture, pathogenesis and diagnostics of Lyme Borreliosis. It is aimed at a cycle of a tick, its ability to transfer the infection to a human organism and also geographical spread within the Czech Republic territory. It emphasizes that the only effective method against the infection of the Lyme disease is prevention, first of all protection against ticks and their timely and proper removal from the body. The main part of work is formed by a quantitative exploratory research of awareness in public about the risks of borreliosis. It is aimed at ways how people protect themselves against ticks and how they handle them during removing. It probes their knowledgeableness about this infection. Examined sample is formed by randomly chosen respondents of various age in the region of eastern Bohemia.
