Autism Spectrum Disorders - Sibling's Perspective
Tietzová, Alžběta ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
The bachelor thesis aims to map sibling relationships of people with autism spectrum disorders and their intact siblings. The theoretical part deals with the issue of autism spectrum disorders and with the developments in the field of professional approach to this concept. The next section is focused on sibling relations and constellations in the majority population, followed by a section dealing with the influence of autism spectrum disorders on sibling relationships. Finally, I try to explain briefly the concept of social support. In the empirical part I present results of the qualitative survey implemented through interviews and a social support questionnaire. The research seeks to examine the problem of demanding coexistence of intact children and their siblings with autism spectrum disorders and to discover impacts of the disorder on mutual relationships of children, as well as on their relationships with parents and on the children's perceptions with respect to their future and the social support. The influence of Reuven Feuerstein ́s method on elementary school teacher didactics
Kurcová, Petra ; Lucká, Barbora (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with influence of Feuerstein's method of Instrumental Enrichment on didactics of elementary school teacher. The Instrumental Enrichment method is a very sophisticated strategy for developing individual cognitive structures. A person who helps develop cognitive structures acts as a mediator. These mediators are most often parents or teachers. So, according to Feuerstein, the teacher is not merely a knowledge builder, but he tries to develop his / her thinking and teaching potential. The aim of my work is to deepen the general knowledge of the influence of this method on teachers' didactics from the perspective of those teachers who work with it. To clarify in which areas didactics teachers perceive the impact of this method and how concrete changes are reflected. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the author of the method, Professor Reuven Feuerstein, and the theoretical starting points from which his method is based. In addition, Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment Program is introduced, which is an application of mediated learning to pedagogical practice. It further defines the concept of didactics. The last part deals with available research on the influence of the method on teachers' didactics. In the empirical part, which is based on qualitative research...
Stimulation of early child development according to "Estimulacion temprana"
Maryšková, Tereza ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
In my work I focused on the preventive group program Estimulación temprana, which is intended for children from 0 to 3 years old and their parents. Six case studies are presented to help analyze this program. Research has revealed that the program is working on children through coarse and fine motor, cognitive, speech and social development. The case reports indicate that the observed individuals did not deteriorate, on the contrary, there was a shift in the Brunet-Lezin scale. Activities take into account the developmental level of groups in which children are disaggregated by age, but the individual level of specific individuals reflects only to a small extent. The study also shows that Estimulación temprana leads parents to better orientation in education, targeted child care and out-of-school lessons and also helps them with effective ways of stimulating. From the subjective point of view of parents, the contribution of Estimulación Temprana lies above all in the possibility of sharing experiences, deregistering, establishing friendly relationships, and changing educational leadership. The results of this work provide a qualitative analysis in our not known program Estimulación temprana, whose specificity lies in the orientation to the whole of child development, thus being distinguished among...
Relations in gender unbalanced classes
Chládková, Jana ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Diplomová práce Relations in gender-unbalanced classes ABSTRACT The diploma thesis is focused on relations in gender-unbalanced high school classes. A combination of three methods was used for data collection: sociometric rating questionnaire, questionnaire for girls and boys in the classroom and interview with teachers. The sample included six schools in Prague. The theoretical part maps the influence of gender stereotypes on development of individuals and character of relationships in coeducated and separated classes. The empirical part provides data analysis with respect to the whole group and the position of minority individuals among classmates. Results showed that gender-unbalanced classes evaluated mutual popularity and influence comparably to gender-balanced classes. However, classes with predominance of girls achieved better results since the respondents reflected greater respect and tolerance in comparison to classes with predominance of boys. The boys' minority is more satisfied among girls than the girls' minority among boys. Boys in the boys' classes were negatively assessed for not appreciating girls and laughing at them. In both types of gender unbalanced collectives, minorities were in the background and not participating in class very much. Qualitative analysis of verbal responses has shown...
Written Expression among pupils at the fifth grade of basic schools
Karasová, Michaela ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
This thesis is focused on mapping written expression among pupils at the fifth grade of basic schools. The thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical knowledge available about written expression and about disorder of written expression. Attention is paid here to the diagnosis of written expression and to the analysis of the available diagnostic tools that deal with testing of written expression. In the empirical part of the thesis, we are primarily focused on designing the test of written expression and its evaluation system. Our next goal was to verify the predictive value of the designed test of written expression on fifth grade pupils and to compare pupils' performance among themselves. Secondary goal of the thesis is to compare the results of the test by a statistical quantitative methodology and to subsequently discuss them in terms of gender, font pattern (Comenia Script font and bound font pattern) and the presence or absence of specific learning disorders. The partial goal is to verify the correlation of the results of the designed test. Data collection was conducted by a group administration. A total of six basic schools took part in research studies of the written expression. We have...
