FROM THE END
Krausová, Radana ; Čapek, Jan (referee) ; Tobola, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on designing a cover for a multisensor fire alarm. The project originated in collaboration with the company LITES, which specified the requirements for the alarm cover. The main objective is to create a product suitable for various interior types and capable of integration with other end elements in the space. The design is conceived for installing the alarm either directly on the ceiling or for recessing it into the ceiling. Manufacturers and sellers of these devices are increasingly recognizing the importance of visual communication in the user interface of fire alarms. If the end element is too conspicuous or detracts from the overall impression of the room, it can evoke considerable aversion from the user. The work is based on simple geometric shapes such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders, and their subsequent perforation. This decision stemmed from the effort to streamline the shape of the cover from unnecessary elements. For the alarm design, I chose the shape of a cylinder, which best meets the requirements for installing the alarm and its function in the space. In my opinion, it is important to perceive the alarm as an accessory in the space, not just as a technical element. This idea significantly changes the approach to the product and therefore also the approach to its design.
Influence of the intensity of begging on the rate of predation in the common sandpiper and common cuckoo
ČAPEK, Jan
In this research, I examined whether the louder calls of the common cuckoo (Cuculus canorus), a nest parasite, would increase the rate of predation on the nest of the red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio), whose nestlings call at a lower volume. The experiment was conducted during both the nesting season of the red-backed shrike, primarily in June, and in the autumn of 2023. During the spring trials, nests were situated within bushes, whereas in the autumn trials, they were positioned on the ground. Each experiment involved three nests, each subjected to a distinct audio recording: one featuring the vocalizations of a young common cuckoo, another with those of nestlings of the red-backed shrike, and a third serving as a silent control. Predation rates were assessed across these nests to determine whether certain recordings elicited higher predation rates compared to others.

MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION OF SCIENCE PARKS BASED ON QUALITATIVE EQUATIONLESS RELATIONS
Fuzzy Model of Investor´s Decision into Photovoltaic Technologies During Pre-Design Phase
Pavlíček, Michal ; Brožová, Helena (referee) ; Čapek, Jan (referee) ; Koráb, Vojtěch (referee) ; Dohnal, Mirko (advisor)
Dissertation deals with fuzzy knowledge base supporting investor’s investment decision into the photovoltaic technologies during pre-design phase, when the engineering solution is not known yet. Probably, majority of investors have particular image about the cost and risk coming from investment into the photovoltaic technologies. However, this image is limited to the restricted knowledge areas of each investor. During the period, when the investor is planning investment into the costly photovoltaic technologies at complex, vague and heavily qualified information about the conditions and risks of investment in the specific region, where the environment is constantly inconsistent and multidimensional, it is possible to solve this complex situation with fuzzy logic. This dissertation is focusing on creation of fuzzy knowledge base with selected installed projects in Europe since 2008 and its use with expert system. Furthermore, is covering the definition and description of the variables, which are included in the investor decision making process. The complete designed architecture of the fuzzy knowledge base is tuned and five projects with different size are tested. The fuzzy knowledge base consists of overall 24 variables and 187 statements.

Neničková, Hana ; Čapek, Jan (referee) ; Koráb, Vojtěch (referee) ; Molnár, Zdeněk (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
The topic of the thesis is to build a business analysis methodology for the implementation of information systems in telecommunication enterprises in Czech Republic. This methodology is composed by qualitative research - grounded theory, supplemented by quantitative research and secondary research using an available literature. In the preparation of the methodology I have used the current needs of telecommunications companies, which are characterized mainly by high dependence on information systems, high flexibility, competition and shortening of the corporate strategy timeline. Business analysis in the telecommunications is mainly based on the strategic objectives and its task is to compile and analyze the business requirements that should be reflected in the new (upgraded) information systems while transforming strategic objectives into specific requirements for the operation of this system. Those systems should help fulfill strategic objectives. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part I was focuses mainly on the definition of terms, as well as the general methodology for conducting business analysis and their relationships with process and project management used in the implementation of information systems in telecommunications. Also I identified and explained the used research methods. The second part is focused on primary research. To obtain data the research was carried out interviews with 18 respondents from the telecommunications industry and their statements were subjects for quantitative and qualitative research. The data obtained were conceptualized, categorized and then coded into the resulting methodology. The thesis also includes a proposal for the use of the methodology in theory, practice and teaching.

Nová metoda umožňuje zefektivnit proces analýzy a porovnávání alternativních investic a přesněji zpracovat velký objem informací.
