Effect of arm work intensity on energy expenditure in nordic walking

Title: Effect of Arm Work Intensity on Energy Expenditure in Nordic Walking. Objectives: The aim of study is to assess energy expenditure of walking, Nordic Walking with low and high intensity of arm work. Methods: We tested 14 men in averge age 24,1 ± 1,8 years, body mass 74,3 ± 6,4 kg and height 179,1 ± 5,4 cm on laboratory treadmill. We used indirect calorimetry for assess energy expenditure influnced by intensity of arm work and different slopes. Descriptive statistics was used for basic evaluation. Analysis of varince with repeated measures (2x3) was used to assess statistical differences. The significance level was set at alfa ≤ 0,05. Results: We observed significant increase in the energy expenditure of Nordic Walking with high intensity in slopes 0 % and 10 % (39,60 ± 3,65 kJ.min-1 ; 58,79 ± 4,63 kJ.min-1 ) of arm work compared with Nordic Walking with low intensity of arm work (33,32 ± 3,64 kJ.min-1 ; 53,52 ± 4,78 kJ.min-1 ) and walking (31,26 ± 2,71 kJ.min-1 ; 52,66 ± 3,81 kJ.min-1 ). Increasing the energy expenditure of Nordic Walking with low intensity of arm work (33,32 ± 3,64 kJ.min-1 ; 53,52 ± 4,78 kJ.min-1 ) compared with walking (31,26 ± 2,71 kJ.min-1 ; 52,66 ± 3,81 kJ.min-1 ) in slopes 0 % and 10% did not reach significant difference. Comparative analysis of selected subjects on the fitness centres market in Tabor

The goal of this study is to create a comparative analysis of the selected subjects on the fitness centres market in the city of Tabor, based on the tools of marketing mix. The task is to identify if the level of marketing communication of Tabor fitness centres has changed in comparison to a survey carried out in 2013. Furthermore, the task is to identify major aspects of the motivation of customers of these selected entities for visiting fitness centres and the comparison with the motivational factors of Czech Republic and EU citizens for practicing physical activities. Such targets have been reached by analysing the answers in e-mail questionnaires sent to the owners of selected subjects and questionnaires sent to the customer of those selected fitness centres.
Analysis of Benefits of Monuments Inclusion on the List of UNESCO

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the benefits of UNESCO listed monuments. Specifically, the work is focused on the town of Český Krumlov, where the historical center of the town was registered on the UNESCO list in 1992. The first part is dedicated to tourism literature, its benefits and potential negatives, followed by a chapter focused on the world heritage UNESCO. The most valuable part is a chapter devoted to a selected city. Specifically, I focused on the number of entrepreneurial subjects in the tourism sector, the economy of the city, the management of tourism, and the important subchapter is the analysis of the attendance of the State Castle and Chateau in Český Krumlov and its comparison with other important castles and chateaus in the region. The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of controlled interviews with the actors of tourism and the field survey.
Analysis of the course and impacts of suburbanization process in a town in the vicinity of Prague

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the course and the impacts of suburbanization in towns Šestajovice and Květnice. The analysis starts with a statistics description of the suburbanization process in both towns, then an analysis of economical, social, and environmental impacts of suburbanization in both towns is carried out. Finally a comparison between the suburbanization impacts in Šestajovice and those in Květnice is presented. The conclusion of the thesis is that the suburbanization process in Květnice has been of a larger magnitude than the one in Šestajovice, and still to this day the negative suburbanization impacts are more visible in Květnice than in Šestajovice.
The Model of Product of Sustainable Tourism

The thesis aims to design model of product of sustainable tourism. Tho model is focused on modern domestic tourism products, that meet necessary requierements in terms of sustainable development and current trends in the offer of tourism services and trends in demand. The products Religious Monuments of Kutná Hora, Moravian Wine Trails and Lipno Season Never Ends are analysed to fulfil the aim in terms of principles of sustainable tourism. Analysis is accomplished by qualitative comparative analysis. The rules, that apply to all researched products are identified by means of induction. I created the model of product of sustainable tourism based on discovered findings.
Social Networks and their Importance for Urban Marketing

The master´s thesis deals with the phenomenon of social networks and their possible use in the communication policy of towns and municipalities with specific application to the city of Pilsen. The thesis focuses on the specifics of public administration and the appropriate way to use common marketing tools. The thesis examines the current situation of communication of the city of Pilsen. Questionnaire survey and interview method the thesis examines the opinion of the general public and experts on the use of social networks by the public sector. The survey of good practices of domestic and foreign cities and municipalities anticipates incentives to improve the current state of the use of social networks. The aim of the thesis is to propose measures to streamline communication and eliminate the risks associated with the communication of the city of Plzeň on social networks.
