The article informs about the development of attitudes of Czech public toward the integration of Czech Republic into NATO. Attitudes before the integration are compared with evaluation of membership after and the fear of exposure to military risks and the support for participation of the Czech army in military actions in the world are mentioned.

Activism in the Czech anti-globalization movement from a gender perspective is examined. The article focuses on the representation of men and women. The status of men and women and gender divison of labour are investigated. It is argued that there is a gap between the ideology of the movement and the real fulfilment of the ideals from a gender perspective. Women participate less than men, their position is inferior and there is gendered division of activities in the movement
