Hemp is known as a versatile usable plant with many industrial applications including pharmaceutical industry. The subject of this bachelor's thesis was to characterize the fractions of cannabis produced during its processing and their applications in cosmetics and pharmacy. In the theoretical part the characteristics of the plant, its chemical composition and bioactive substances are worked out. In the experimental part, some metabolites present in hydrolysates of hemp flour and hemp sludge were determined. All fractions were obtained from the Santhica variety. In the samples the content of carbohydrates, lipids, polyphenols, chlorophylls, fatty acid profile, acidity number and iodine number were determined. Furthermore, antimicrobial activity of hemp hydrolysates was tested and fat numbers of the sludge samples were determined. Hemp soaps from hemp sludge and coconut oil were prepared and analysed by sensory tests too. Hemp flour hydrolysate was used in shampoo, which was tested on humans. It was demonstrated that all the materials used were safe and suitable for use. The prepared soaps showed a hydration effect when washing hands. Hemp shampoo application led to smooth and soft hair when washed.

Increasing demand for new progressive construction materials requires development of modern environmentally friendly materials with excellent end-use properties and reasonable price. One of the main objectives of material research in building industry is using renewable resources of raw materials of industrial waste for development of new construction materials. Current trend of thermal insulation of building constructions results in development of environmentally friendly insulation materials based on renewable material resources from agriculture and stock farming, which could became alternative for current common use insulation materials in the future. The thesis describes research and development of insulation materials based on natural fibres of agricultural origin; in particular fibres of hemp, flax and jute. Hydrothermal behavior of developed materials is studied including computational simulation of behavior of researched materials after building in the construction.

Cannabis is the only plant which contains cannabinoids and thanks to these compounds it has enormous potential. This thesis deals with the analysis of technical hemp. Effects of cannabinoids and methods used for cannabis analysis are discussed in the theoretical part. The experimental part includes spectrophotometric characterization of cannabis, it´s antimicrobial effects and thin layer chromatography analysis. Three sorts of Cannabis sativa L. were analyzed, namely Finola, Fedora and Kompolti. Firstly, the content of polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidant activity in prepared tinctures were determined. Moreover, antimicrobial test were performed using disk test and turbidity determination. Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and yeast organism were tested. It was found that cannabis tinctures possess good antimicrobial effects. Some of them are comparable with synthetic antibiotics. Finally, thin layer chromatography enabled visualization of cannabinoids in prepared tinctures.

Construction is a very dynamically developing industry that is placing ever greater demands on the properties of used building materials and structures built on them. In this context, there is a long-term trend to use construction materials made from natural quickly renewable raw materials. These tendencies are caused by natural reaction to the overly technological modern society, as well as efforts towards a greener approach in construction. In this sense, the natural materials from renewable sources means technologically processed organic material of plant origin. Dissertation focuses on the research and subsequent development of filling materials for vertical and horizontal structures based on quickly renewable materials. Pivotal quickly renewable raw material used in the production of filling material is technical hemp. Technical hemp is quickly renewable raw material with very good properties very similar to wood. Furthermore, the research focused on secondary raw materials, which partly replace the binder of the filling material. The resulting filling material has good physical-mechanical and thermo-technical characteristics.

Benková, Sarah ; Holub, Jiří (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
Technical hemp as a versatile plant has found applications in many sectors of the industry. In cosmetics, it is mainly used for bioactive substances as well as proteins. The subject of this bachelor thesis was the preparation and characterization of a fraction containing hydrolysed hemp proteins and its use in hair cosmetics. In the theoretical part, the characteristics of the plant as well as its chemical composition are processed. Attention is paid especially to hemp proteins, their hydrolysis possibilities, and the subsequent use of hydrolysates in hair cosmetics. Within the experimental part, the preparation of hemp protein hydrolysates from hempseed cake of the Santhica 70 variety was optimized using the industrial enzymes TS-E 1930 and TS-E 1993 and the subsequent determination of the protein content and profile of prepared hydrolysates. The carbohydrate, chlorophyll, phenolic and flavonoid content of the analysed hydrolysates was also determined. A hair conditioner was prepared from the selected hydrolysate and tested by ten respondents. Thanks to the prepared conditioner, hair cosmetics with the addition of hydrolysed hemp proteins has been shown to enhance shine and pliability of the hair, as well as help the healing of frayed ends.
Development of cosmetics emulsions with hemp extract
Baranová, Barbora ; Hudečková, Helena (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
The hemp plant contains many biologically significant substances that are used in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Hemp extracts and oils are increasingly used in the cosmetics industry due to their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. This bachelor's thesis deals with the characterization of hemp extracts and their use in the creation formulation of a moisturizing skin cream, the stability and assessment of the effects of this cream. In the theoretical part, individual hemp fractions, their composition and use in the cosmetics industry were discussed. As part of the experimental, the content of phenolic substances, flavonoids, chlorophylls and antioxidants in hemp extracts obtained by extraction using ethanol and tetrafluoroethane was analyzed spectrophotometrically. The content of cannabinoids was assessed by HPLC and TLC methods. The best characteristics were demonstrated by the ethanolic extracts of the Santhica and Fibror varieties, therefore they were used in the creation of a skin emulsion and its stability was tested by centrifugal and stress test. The skin cream was created with purely natural substances that are safe, environmentally friendly and effective. The resulting final product has demonstrated stability for approximately eight months and has been tested by volunteers. Their feedback confirmed the product's potential, with 70% reporting more hydrated and soothed skin. The development of a natural facial moisturizer with hemp extract provides a safer and more effective alternative to synthetic cosmetics and addresses the growing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly skin care options.
