Teaching assistant in a pre-school facility and a child with developmental dysphasia

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the work of teaching assistants in different kindergarten classes where a child with developmental dysphasia is enrolled. The theoretical part of the thesis will focus on two main topics, namely the teaching assistant and developmental dysphasia. Developmental dysphasia is a speech disorder that kind of impaired communication skills. In the first part, the thesis will focus on the teaching assistant, his job description, forms of cooperation and communication with other teachers. The second part will describe the issue of impaired communication ability and closer specifications to developmental dysphasia. Types of developmental dysphasia and the child with developmental dysphasia in preschool age. The research is a case study of three teaching assistants in different kindergarten classes attended by children with developmental dysphasia. The research is conducted through selected research methods, namely structured interview as well as non-participant observation. Primary school pupils with special educational needs at an outdoor school

This work aims to find out how schools in the context of the presence of pupils with support needs prepare for organizing an outdoor school in the 1st grade of primary school and then formulate practice recommendations. The goal was achieved based on a research investigation, within the framework of which two probes were implemented. Probe I includes structured interviews with educational counselors at five selected primary schools. It investigated whether a subsequent written inquiry could take place at the selected schools. Probe II includes an online questionnaire survey aimed at teachers and teaching assistants. Based on this, it was found that in the area of teaching, free time, ensuring self-service activities of pupils, strengthening the pupil collective, and communication with parents, teachers prepare for school in nature differently than for regular teaching. They are helped by the activity, independence, and creativity of teaching assistants if they are willing to help. In the area of preparation for teaching, in the context of cooperation with teaching assistants, it is recommended to set goals beforehand, with which all its participants will become familiar. ?The integration of a student with ASD and its impact of the school class as a social group? is topic of my dissertation. The dissertation focuses on the inclusion of student with ASD in regular primary school (inclusion), legislation dealing with this topic and related terms such as a support measures, teaching assistant etc. Last but not least, I also focused on Asperger?s syndrome, its causes and symptoms. The main goal of the dissertation is to find out what are the impacts of integration a student with ASD on the class as a social group and what advantages and disadvantages follow from the integration.
The role of assistant teacher in the education of pupils with different kindergartens at primary schools in the South Bohemian Region with a focus on Ukrainian pupils

The topic of the bachelor thesis focuses on supporting the education of pupils with a different mother tongue through a teaching assistant. The aim of the whole thesis is to analyse the role and importance of the teaching assistant in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The bachelor thesis is composed of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of three chapters, which contain the basic theoretical insight into the mentioned issue. The first chapter is devoted to the basic characteristics of a pupil with a different mother tongue, its definition, legislative anchoring and the last part deals with language support. The second chapter focuses on inclusive education for pupils with a different mother tongue. The chapter will outline the support measures used for this group, the factors influencing their education and the specifics of pupils from Ukraine. The last chapter deals with the profession of teaching assistant. The chapter describes the legislation, qualification readiness, the scope of work activities of the teaching assistant and the cooperation between the teaching assistant and the teacher. The practical section examines the role of the teaching assistant and his/her support in the education of pupils from Ukraine. This section is conducted through a questionnaire survey, which is then complemented by semi-structured interviews with a teaching assistant and a teacher who have experience of teaching Ukrainian pupils. A total of 226 respondents took part in the survey. From the results, we learn about the work activities of the teaching assistant, the use of didactic aids and mutual cooperation in the education of pupils from Ukraine. The results based on the quantitative research were subsequently complemented through interviews with teaching staff. The bachelor thesis can serve to optimize the education of pupils with different mother tongues in primary schools.
How Educators of a Selected Elementary School Perceive Their Work in Respect to Their Former Ideals?

The diploma thesis deals with the question of how different pedagogical staff (teachers, school club educators, and teaching assistants) of a selected primary school perceive and experience their work in contrast with the ideas they had about the pedagogical profession. The core of the thesis is qualitative research (interviews with eleven respondents). The introduction presents the researcher's personal view of the subject before carrying out the research. The methodology and the course of the research are described in more detail in the second chapter. Next, the research findings are presented. The following topics were identified in the respondents' narrative: the feeling of lack of preparedness, (non)sharing of materials and aids, attitudes towards parents, colleagues and pupils.
Relationship between a teacher and a teaching assistant from their mutual perspective

This bachelor's thesis explores the relationship between teachers and teaching assistants in Czech primary schools, highlighting the importance of their cooperation and communication. Through interviews with both groups, it reveals how collaboration influences the educational process, the approach to inclusion, and adaptation to students' individual needs. The study examines the challenges faced by both roles in the education system and provides insights into how effective mutual cooperation can support an inclusive educational environment and positively affect students' development and education.
Support for the adaptation of pupils with ASD in school classroom

The diploma thesis deals with supporting the adaptation of pupils with autism spectrum disorder in the school classroom. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the support of adaptation in the school environment and the inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the complex definition of autism spectrum disorders with manifestations and specifics that appear in pupils with ASD. Then it describes the possibilities of inclusive education with recommended approaches to these pupils and counselling services including support measures used in education. The theoretical part also describes the possibilities of supporting the adaptation and inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the issue of adaptation of pupils with ASD through qualitative research. The aim of the research investigation is to find out how teaching staff support the adaptation of pupils with ASD to the school environment and its inclusion in the school classroom. In addition, what specifics in the adaptation of pupils with ASD are perceived and taken into account by pedagogical staff. Last but not least, the difficulties and risks encountered in the adaptation and education of pupils with ASD are identified. The research is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews and observations. The thesis presents validated and recommended strategies and methods of work for pupils with ASD in adapting to the school environment and for their easier integration in the classroom collective. Among the most important are: visiting the school before starting school, peer-to-peer information transfer, structured learning, motivation and targeted work with the class collective. The cooperation of class teachers and teaching assistants is indispensable here. The special education centres have a major role in this issue, which are present in the entire process of adaptation and education of pupils with ASD.

The thesis deals with the profession and content of the work of a teaching assistant. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts of this profession and its anchoring in legislation are defined. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, the prerequisites for the performance of work in the position of teaching assistant, what his relationship with teachers, pupils and parents should be. There is also a chapter dedicated to explaining the concept of inclusion and its stabilization in Czech education. In the practical part, interviews with five teaching assistants from the first grade of the same school are recorded and analyzed. At the end of the work, the results of the interviews are summarized, the aim of which was to find out whether the teacher's assistants perform the work as prescribed by law, or whether they do something extra. The subject of investigation was also whether teaching assistants at a specific elementary school do less work than is specified in the legislation. The research shows that the teacher's assistants in the mentioned school have a job in accordance with the applicable laws. Among other things, they are also entrusted with other sub-tasks, which, however, do not conflict with the law, but mainly relate to non-pedagogical activities.
