Development of the environmentally friendly forms of tourism in the tourist region of Šumava

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the development of the environmentally friendly forms of tourism in the tourist region of Šumava. First of all there are characterised basic terms dealing with the issues of environmentally friendly forms of tourism and with the tourist regions. Then the chapter concerning the tourism development in the protected landscape areas and national parks follows. A chapter considering the characteristic of the Šumava region is also included, it describes general information about the region, the offer of the environmentally friendly forms of tourism and also the institutions occupying with this issue. A questionnaire survey is also a part of the thesis, it focuses on the awareness and the interest of the environmentally friendly forms of tourism in the Šumava region. Considering the findings of the survey the author analyses the development of the environmentally friendly tourism in the tourist region of Šumava and proposes measures leading to effective tourism development.
Sustainable tourism development in the chosen destination - Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko

This thesis is concerned with the sustainable tourism development in the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko. The aim is to evaluate current state of sustainable tourism in this area and outline the perspectives of its further development. The theoretical part is dedicated to the definition of the concept of sustainable development and its application to the tourism in protected areas. The beggining of the practical part describes the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko. The practical part is also concerned with the organization of tourism and an analysis of offer of environmentally friendly forms of tourism. The thesis is completed with an overall evaluation based on the SWOT analysis, chosen indicators of sustainable tourism development and a questionnaire survey among tourists, residents, entrepreneurs in the tourism industry and municipalities in the region of the Protected Landscape Area Kokořínsko.
Sustainable tourism development in Moravian-Silesian region

The thesis addresses the issue of sustainable tourism development which is illustrated on the example of the Moravian-Silesian region (of the Czech Republic). The aim of the thesis is the evaluation of the current condition as well as the potential of sustainable tourism development in the Moravian-Silesian region. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to sustainable development with its basic pillars and principles. The Moravian-Silesian region is characterized in terms of in terms of environment, transport infrastructure, and tourism in the practical part of the thesis. In addition, the offer of environmentally-friendly forms of tourism in the region, their support and opportunities for further development is addressed. A significant portion is dedicated to the analysis of knowledge of sustainable tourism development in the region which is based in responses by entrepreneurs in tourism in the Moravian-Silesian region, tourists, residents of the region, and employees of the regional administrative office. The SWOT analysis serves as an instrument for the evaluation of the current state and the potential opportunities for sustainable tourism development in the region.
Sustainable tourism development in the chosen destination - Liberec Region

The thesis is concerned with the sustainable tourism development theme. Its goal is to evaluate the current situation of sustainable tourism development in the Liberec Region and also to verify that the region develops adequate activities for its support. The theoretical part is focused on defining the concept of sustainable development, it is focused on description of its essence and its principles. The role of important international organizations is described as well. The practical part is concerned with the characteristics of the Liberec Region. A substantial part of the thesis consists of analysis of offer - environmentally friendly forms of tourism, evaluation based on the chosen indicators of sustainable tourism and questionnaire research in four different groups: Regional authority, tourists and visitors, residents and tourism entrepreneurs in Liberec Region.
Opportunities for tourism development in the EU with a focus on sustainable development

The aim of my Master's thesis is to suggest suitable options that could enhance the development of tourism in the European Union with regard to their contribution to sustainable development. The basic terms and fundamental concepts related to tourism are described in the first chapter. The second chapter provides a closer look at tourism in the countries of the European Union and its institutional arrangements. Sustainable development and environmentally friendly forms of tourism are introduced in the third chapter. The following chapter talks about the EU projects related to tourism. Finally, the last chapter captures specific suggestions which, if implemented, could lead to the development of tourism.
EU structural funds with the concentration on environmentally friendly forms of tourism

The objective of this diploma thesis is to present possibilities how to obtain EU financial resources on development of environmentally friendly forms of tourism in the Czech Republic. First part of the thesis focuses on sustainable tourism, the most important legislation of environment protection in the Czech Republic and international and national organizations of this field. Second part is focused on EU social and solidarity policy, Operational Programmes concentrated on environmentally friendly forms of tourism and Rural Development Programme. An example of successful application is a part of the work.
