The role of the evil and the good sister in Perrault's fairy tales

v anglickém jazyce This bachelor's thesis deals with ways of conception of the role of evil and kind sister in the fairy tales written by well-known French author Charles Perrault. These ways are compared with methods of current writer Patrick Chamoiseau. The goal of this thesis is to show the identical traits by using analytical and subsequent comparative method. These identical features were revealed on the basis of work with fairytale texts Cendrillon ou La petite pantoufle en verre, Les fées and La Barbe Bleue in Czech translation Popelka aneb Skleněný střevíček, Víly and Modrovous. These attributes become the main criterions of comparison of achieved results with elements which can be found in a fairy tale called La plus belle est à l'en-bas de la baille in Czech translation Nejhezčí je pod žlabem. This study aspires to answer the question if it is possible to declare these three mentioned fairy tales written by Charles Perrault as a possible source of inspiration how to understand characters of kind and evil sister in work of Patrick Chamoiseau. In my bachelor thesis I would like to explore a painting approach analogous to the processes in nature. How the landscape transforms through artists into artwork. I create a structural archetype, a matrix with which I continue to work. But the resulting image becomes a matrix under the matrix, which as the imprint of the physical approach represents the spiritual message, the existential essence. A similar fact to this approach is my relationship to the landscape.

Brand archetypes of TOP 10 czech athletes

Title: Brand archetypes of TOP czech athletes Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the brand archetypes of the TOP 10 czech athletes. Methods: The bachelor thesis uses a combination of quantitative research with elements of qualitative methods. Electronic questioning was chosen as the most appropriate way to obtain the necessary information from Generation Y. The questionnaire survey involves first demographic data and then projective techniques - the respondent assigns colours to each athlete's brand based on the emotions the athlete evokes. Subsequently, brand archetypes are assigned to each athlete's brand based on the psychology of color and the limbic model. Results: Determining athlete brand archetypes using projective techniques based on color psychology is feasible. However, it has been found that in order to determine brand archetypes, it is necessary that the research population knows the athlete in question. For the athletes that the research set did not know, it was not possible to determine the archetype - for Vít Přindiš and Jakub Vadlejch. Gender Analysis of the characters of the Homeric Hymn to Demeter

The subject of this master's thesis is gender and archetypal analysis of the characters in the Homeric Hymn to Demeter. The first part of the thesis consists of methodologies and theoretical concepts used in the subsequent analysis section of the thesis. Feminist theories are the core of this thesis. The main focus is placed on archetypal analysis and feminist spirituality. The second part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the main characters of the story. Emphasis is placed primarily on the power dynamics, the relationships and ties between the characters, as well as on the analysis of the archetypes and the symbolism in the myth. Southern Womanhood: A Story Behind the Southern Belle

The present MA thesis focuses on the development of the archetype of the Southern Belle in the selected works of American fiction, namely John Pendleton Kennedy's Swallow Barn, William Faulkner's Sanctuary and Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. The main task is to explore how the archetype of the Southern Belle was constructed and (if) transgressed at different times in the American literary tradition from the period of antebellum South to the era of the Southern Renaissance. Since the archetype of the Southern Belle is connected with the white upper class society it will be also discussed in this respect. By comparing texts from different historical periods I want to compare the different nature of cultural and social conditions that contributed and informed the meaning and the function of the Southern Belle. Moreover, by selecting Southern woman writer and Southern male writers respectively I want to compare female and male perspective on the literary representation of the Southern Belle. From horror character to girl's idol. Vampire in contemporary literature for young adults

This thesis deals with the evolution of vampire as a literary character in contemporary production for young adults. Its aim is not to describe all existing works but to cover only the most interesting representations of a vampire in various epochs. The thesis describes the most influential works building the literary stereotype of a vampire and proposes an evolution line. The crucial works in this genre are: Vampire, Carmilla, Dracula, Interview with a Vampire, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Twilight, House of Night, Vampire Academy and Vampire Boardingschool. Based on them we create a typology according to the appearance, character and narrative role of a vampire. The thesis begins with an anthropological introduction, especially with the origin of the vampires in Easteuropean folk tradition. Farther more we deal with most common genres used to enrich the vampire literature and theory of a literary character as a narrative category. The analysis covers the evolution of a vampire character from its naturalistic appearance to its very civilized pole in the contemporary young adults fiction. We close with the chapter describing the character of a vampire as a literary symbol.

The initiation novel as a genre and its elements in selected novels by Hermann Hesse

The theoretical part of this master thesis is based on the literary genre of the initiation novel, as presented by Daniela Hodrová. In an effort to gain a deeper insight into the novel's typical figures and spatial motifs, the theoretical part also contains a summary of archetypes described by C. G. Jung. In the practical part, principles of the initiation genre are demonstrated on the novels Demian and Steppenwolf written by the German author Hermann Hesse. The aim of the thesis is to provide a proof that the two novels can be assigned to the initiation novel genre and also to make use of the means presented in the theoretical part for an analysis of the initiation of the protagonists. The initiation in Demian is presented as a precursor of the initiation described in Steppenwolf. Therefore, the result of this thesis is also an attempt to present the philosophical connection between the analysed novels.
