Book as part of leisure activities in the after-school club

This bachelor thesis concerns book reading as part of leisure activities in after-school care. The goal of it is to outline the infrastructure of family reading through interviews with after-school care students and to also suggest reading related activities - recitals, discussions, opinion sharing etc. around the selected book of Miloš Kratochvíl - Puntíčkáři. These activities were completed by the creation of lapbook. They were not only conducted but also their efficiency was reflected through observations, afore-mentioned interviews and an analysis of the students' creations. The theoretical portion of this thesis presents after-school care in its historical and contemporary context as well as it shows its functions and goals. Concepts such as reading and reading literacy, personal development, communication skills, free time, leisure time education and reading strategies for children and youth, are introduced here. In the practical portion, reading strategies were applied when working with the book Puntíkáři by Miloš Kratochvíl. One of the stories from the book is also accompanied by lapbook. 1st grade reading workshop: action research

This thesis stems from the necessity to guide and support students in reading from the beginning of compulsory school attendance. The theoretical part deals with the concept of reading, the development of reading literacy, and further describes methods and possibilities for further support and development of reading. An integral part for the development of reading literacy are libraries, which are also mentioned in the work. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on various options and perspectives on the reading workshop. The goal of the action research is to describe, through observation, how it is possible to firmly integrate the reading workshop into the schedule from the 1st grade of primary school based on personal experience and to suggest how further methods can support reading among 1st and 2nd grade students even more. Using findings from a completed parents' questionnaire, the empirical part responds to the research questions. The research showed that thanks to the early inclusion of the reading workshop, students were able to concentrate on the given reading and smoothly continue with the already mastered organization of the reading workshop within the 1st grade. Contribution to the Leisure Studies

The thesis deals with the profession of librarian from the perspective of leisure time pedagogy. In the first part it introduces the job of librarians, presents the form of libraries and points out the issue of reading in society. It then goes on to compare librarians to leisure educators, their motivation for employment and introduces library organisations and associations. The second part of the thesis involves analysing four in-depth interviews conducted as part of qualitative research. The research conducted introduces the profession of librarianship and their perceptions of leisure issues from the position of the librarian themselves. The whole thesis will then conclude with a chapter focusing on the image of the ideal librarian.
Key topics of selected reading-book texts and its interpretation using the Philosophy for Children method

The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions "What key themes do students identify using the Philosophy for Children method in selected texts in the elementary school reader for the second grade?" and "How do students interpret selected texts through these concepts?" The theoretical section focuses on the general concept of interpretation and the connection of interpretation with the Philosophy for Children method, whose principles are subsequently explained through practical examples. The thesis also includes a characterization of the selected age group of students who were part of the research. Adolescents are described not only from the perspective of developmental psychology but especially as readers, with the area of their reading interests being examined. For example, book borrowings among adolescent readers in libraries are analyzed. The research section offers an analysis of philosophical discussions in which students attempted to find key themes in selected texts from the reader.
Selected Works of Daisy Mrázková in Leisure Education for Reading

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to introduce the work of Daisy Mrázková and the use of selected works in leisure education for reading. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part introduces the author's life, her aspirations, the awards she has received, her preferred literary genre and its specifics, an overview of her literary works, an analysis of specific works by the author, the development of the selected target group of children and the selected methods for working with the text. The practical part focuses on the project Afternoon with Daisy Mrázková, which aims to develop children's reading skills and deepen their interest in books.
Intimacy as a topic for preschool children

The bachelor thesis addresses the issue of intimacy as a topic for preschool children in kindergartens. The theoretical part provides an insight into different conceptions of intimacy and the terms associated with it, which will be further used for the practical part. It also looks at the physical and mainly psychological development of the preschool child, particularly in relation to intimacy. It also focuses on three well-known theories of human needs, specifically according to Abraham Maslow, Zdeněk Matějček and the Pesso family. It then subjects these to comparison and finds connections between them and the themes of intimacy, demonstrating their interrelatedness and importance for the healthy development of the preschool child. The theoretical part also pays attention to whether the topic of intimacy finds its rightful place in preschool education and how it is included in the curriculum. The practical part presents the planning, implementation and evaluation of a week-long project that aims to sensitively introduce the topic of intimacy to preschool children using the principles of Philosophy for Children. The core element of this project is an original children's book, which is intended to serve as a suitable didactic material for kindergarten teachers in the field of the above-mentioned issue.
Design of Diagnostic System for Small Transport Aircraft

Due to the airliners and aircraft operators pressure on reducing the operating costs, the diagnostic systems are included in aircraft, so that the wearness of single functional elements of other functional systems can be monitored. This monitoring can save money, that are usually spent on maintenance and especially, it leads to an increase of the overall safety of aircraft operations. The task of this work is to design a diagnostic system for small transport aircraft. For the right and proper design, is the correct understanding of the functions of each part on aircraft systems needed. The part of this work is attended to the selection procedure of appropriate diagnostic parameters, next section deals with the suitable options of their scanning. I do mention the summary of the chosen diagnostic parameters for the scanning and the recomended ways of their measuring.
Storage media for data archiving

This dissertation explains the problem of archiving data based on the media used. Different information carriers and their properties are described in relation with their construction and read and write methods. Depending on write method on individual medium, this part is divided into two main areas. Last part deals with architecture of redundant arrays of independent disks and their standard levels. According to principles of the independent disk array activity, the properties as well as advantages and disadvantages of specific level are discussed.
