Sledování faktorů, které ovlivňují preference při výběru bioproduktů oproti potravinám z konvenční produkce
Ryšavý, Jan
This bachelor thesis examines factors that influence consumer preferences and behaviour when choosing between organic products and conventional products. The aim of the work is to compare reasons that lead consumers in the district of Brno-město to buy organic food according to certain criteria, based on the assumption that a healthy lifestyle and more frequent shopping are interrelated. The data were obtained from respondents using an online survey. From these data, which included the height and weight of respondents, the Body Mass Index (BMI) of respondents was calculated and then compared with the frequency of organic food purchases. Smoking was chosen as another indicator of a healthy lifestyle. Respondents answered questions about organic food and its nutritional values, quality and health, taste, price, shelf life, and whether they prefer Czech or foreign organic food, or whether their origin is not important to them. The dependence between these selected factors was tested using statistical tests. The main assumption that a healthy lifestyle and more frequent purchases of organic food are interrelated is weakly confirmed. Respondents who buy organic food more frequently have lower BMI values. With increasing values indicating higher weight or obesity, the frequency of organic food purchases decreases slightly. At the same time, the frequency of shopping for organic food is lower among respondents who smoke. The most common reasons for buying organic food is the view that organic food is healthier and tastier and organic farming is more environmentally friendly than conventional farming.

New materials to support the teaching of biochemistry in secondary schools - vitamins in nutrition and metabolism
Budíková, Kateřina ; Martínek, Václav (advisor) ; Teplá, Milada (referee)
Vitamins are a topic that is discussed throughout various fields of human knowledge. They are especially important because they cannot be synthesized by the human body and are needed for the proper function of the body. The most common task of the vitamins is participation in antioxidant reactions and their role as cofactors of various enzymatic reactions. For these reasons, it is very important to have sufficient intake of vitamins and pass this knowledge onto students in school. As a result of my own analysis of selected secondary school chemistry textbooks, the topic of vitamins is not often presented clearly enough and the textbooks are not focused on linking the topic of vitamins with their particular function in the human body and with students' everyday life. Based on these circumstances, a set of educational materials called The Vitamins in Human Nutrition and Metabolism was created. The set includes an educational PowerPoint presentation, a worksheet and revision cards. The set contains graphic schemes and illustrations supporting connections between the vitamins and everyday life. The set of educational materials is available on website studiumchemie.cz (the Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Science at Charles University). The new materials can be used to aid education of the...

MARKOVÁ, Monika
The thesis focuses on the educational role of the nurse working in primary care. Education is the upbringing and training of an individual, the aim of which is to change their behaviour, attitudes, actions and beliefs. Primary care is comprehensive and coordinated care. It is a set of activities that focus mainly on prevention, health promotion, but also on treatment, therapy and examination. High demands are placed on the primary care nurse in terms of the proper and smooth running of the practice, administration or performance of procedures. The first aim of this thesis was to find out how nurses working in primary care educate and motivate their patients to make lifestyle changes. The second aim was to find out in which areas the nurse most frequently educates. The practical part of the thesis is developed through qualitative research. The research population consists of twelve nurses working in practices of adult general practitioners. The data was collected using a semi-structured interview. The nurses were asked 33 questions that focused on patient education. Based on the interviews and the data collected, the results were open coded into six categories. From the results of the research, it was found that nurses working in primary care do not follow any educational process or have any educational plan, rather they draw from their own experience. It was also found that the nurses do not have enough time for the patient nor a proper educational environment in which to conduct education. According to the results, it was found that nurses most frequently educate patients on issues such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, preventive vaccinations, or elevated levels of cholesterol. The current issue, as of the month of March 2024, when the data collection was conducted, was the educational activities of nurses focused on the issue of whooping cough. Based on the findings, a material for a seminar for nurses working in practices of general practitioners was developed. The seminar focuses on the implementation of effective patient education by a nurse working in an adult general practitioner's office.
