Analysis of future technologies and their impact on society as presented in the show Black Mirror

The bachelor thesis is focused on the description of robots and social media from selected episodes from the television series Black Mirror. It briefly deals with the description of the story and the message of selected episodes. For each selected episode, it focuses mainly on the technical feasibility of the depicted technologies. In this work, robots and social media from the Black Mirror are compared with modern equivalents from the real world. The bachelor thesis also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of social media and robots, including their impact on our society. It also deals with the ethical and social aspects of these technologies. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to provide insight into the technologies used in the Black Mirror series.

In my master thesis I realize the set of pictures and painterly objects, which should imitate principles of augmented reality by analogial form. From technical standpoint Im interested in question of bidirectional remediation of new media and painting and how its evolution supports ilussion and imagination. In ontologiacal way im looking for mystical nature of picture. Final exhibition is an metaphor composed in hybryd picture based on technological and theoretical experiences in Painting. The result is little synthetic reality.

The work identifies the socio-technological risks thematized in the series and analyzes the relationships between technology and society, or the effects of modern technology on society.

Perception of new media as a threat on an example of Black Mirror series

Thesis Perception of new media as a threat on an example of Black Mirror series deals with the Black Mirror series viewers' stand on new media threats. The aim is to detect if the series affected their opinions or behavior with new media in any way. This aim will be persuaded by using the method of semi-structured interviews. The topic of new media and their negative impacts on individuals and society is in sociology represented increasingly. Black Mirror series literally aiming to set up a black mirror for our lives with ever-evolving technologies adds a value that can affect the respondents' emotions and opinions on this topic. The theoretical part describes the transitions of society in modern day - concept of network society and risk society and explains the terms threat and risk. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on current new media threats. The second, practical, part describes the specific methodological procedures used in this thesis and thus the methods of thematic analysis and methods of qualitative interviews. This will be followed by a description of the research steps, a description of the results and the results interpretation.
The TV series Black Mirror as a substantial creation of British TV production

Thesis: The TV series Black Mirror as a substantial creation of British TV production Abstract: ENG The thesis deals with the analysis of the British TV anthology Black Mirror. It examines the program in terms of authorship, processing method, theme, genre, and impact on society. The aim is to determine the basic characteristics of the Black Mirror and to point out its uniqueness in the context of current trends in television content. In individual chapters, it focuses on the role of authorship, the definition of the genre and the definition of the main topic. The program is also subjected to a narrative and stylistic analysis that examines the way the story is constructed, the narrative structure, the work with the characters, the environment and the style. Furthermore this thesis also want to examine the the extent to which the topics of Black Mirror correspond to reality. The result of this research offers a complex picture of Black Mirror, including a comparison with selected British television programs.
