ZigBee in Building Automation
Liška, Radovan ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
Improvement of wireless technologies is a natural consequence of the progress in the field of science and technology. Usage of wireless networks based on the ZigBee technology, which are capable of indepent operation in present form, providing detailed information about physical environment and process management, brings many advantages. On the other hand, there is a serious issue about commissioning. This Master's Thesis deals with introduction of ZigBee technology and its usage, describes issue about device commissioning and types of commissioning. The main part of the Thesis is my own proposal for solving this problem, proposing algorithm using the Bitcloud stack for Coordinator, End Device and Router and its demonstration at the application. Along with analysing the application there are described possible solutions for creating a new network, adding a new node into the existing network and changing a node. The result is a graphical application and firmware for each device. The result of succesfully associated devices in network is supported by the measurement.

The objective of this thesis is to get familiar with wireless sensor networks technologies and with standard IEEE 802.15.4. and communication principle in wireless sensor networks built on this standard. Main goal of this project is to design a packet analyzer, which is capable to catch data on chosen channel and this data is able to analyze. Part of this project is production of necessary microcontroller software equipment. Another output of this project is do a research of available packet analyzers on market and compare them with analyzer build by this thesis.

Botta, Miroslav ; Mráz, Ľubomír (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
The work deals with processing of radio received signal strength in IEEE 802.15.4 which communicates in 2.4 GHz ISM band. The signal is processed by the three approximation methods. They are tested for their effectiveness for measuring in different radio environments. Furthermore, the work deals with calculation of the most efficient coefficients for distance calculating by radio transmission fucntions. It defines the issues of such solutions on practical examples. The work also deals with the experimental algorithm for implementing dynamic calibration of the coefficients. It describes the design, processing and verification of this system in practice.
IPv6 for Wireless Sensor Networks
Polak, Martin ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Červenka, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issues 6LoWPAN protokolu and implementation of IPv6 on the specied platform. Introduction thesis deals with the explanation of wireless sensor networks. Next it was descibed 6LoWPAN protocol, which maps IPv6 on standard IEEE 802.15.4. The thesis further concentrates to exploration of possible operation systems, that are designed for sensor networks and then followed by comparison of their characteristics and advantages. The fth chapter is focused on he implementation of the operating system to the sensor node Iris, introduction Iris and with the structure of the operating system Contiki OS. At the end of thesis is description of the implementation of this system in the sensor node Iris.
Proposal of wireless sensor network for indoor monitoring of people and objects
Záděra, Zdeněk ; Mráz, Ľubomír (referee) ; Morávek, Patrik (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of wireless sensor network (WSN) for monitoring of people and objects in a building. The work deals with issues of localization and tracking in sensor networks and algorithm implementation to sensor nodes. It also contains a description of the aplication requirements. These requirements form the basis for the proposal. The hardware part of the network consists of sensor nodes IRIS from Crossbow company. The work describes the properties of these nodes. Next part deals with of propagation model and design of the localization algorithm. The paper also describes the communication in the network. The thesis also includes a practical realization of the proposed network, the localization system and its testing. In the work is included a CD with the building schematic in AutoCAD and with source code of created applications.
Signal processing in ZigBee system
Miloš, Jiří ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hanus, Stanislav (advisor)
Master's thesis The Signal Processing in ZigBee System is focused on properties of Physical Layer of ZigBee (standard IEEE 802.15.4 - 2003). The work consists of three parts. The first part contains common view on using and properties of ZigBee. The next part focuses on the Medium Access Control Layer and in detail on the Physical Layer. There described signal processing in the Physical Layer in individual radio bands. The last part of the project contains the process of modeling in the MATLAB for both models of system ZigBee (bands 868/915 MHz and 2450 MHz). The last part of thesis deals with the simulations of BER depending on Carrier-to-Noise Ratio. Also examined the coexistence of systems operating in the same or a nearby frequency band. Based on the results of simulations there are given recommendations for the use of the ZigBee system in minimizing BER.
Wireless Sensor Network with Atmel AVR Microcontrollers.
Mráz, Ľubomír ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes the standard IEEE802.15.4 and Zigbee for wireless sensor networks. These norms are described in detail in the first two chapters. The main priority of the wireless sensor networks is to minimize the power of the devices and the price while maximizing the reliability of the data transfer. Minimum consumption is provided by the significantly lowered complexity in comparison to the standard wireless networks. Further, the design of the concept of the complex and universal hardware platform focused on intelligent building is described. Software implementation of those norms is described in the chapters five and six. Finally, comparison of the designed hardware platform and the other commercial platforms is described in the last chapter.
IEEE 802.15.4 range measurements
Komadel, Lukáš ; Hynčica, Ondřej (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
In the master’s thesis IEEE 802.15.4 Range measurements I want to find out, whether atmospheric conditions have influence over the quality of communication between two ZigBee modules. I would like found the answer by long-time test, because I can’t found the proper place for the measuring, I must found the answer in the literature. In the second part of the master’s thesis I measuring, whether placing one of the module in the car have influence over the quality of communication. The module was placing in the various places in the car, on a dashboard, on a guest-passenger’s seat, in a pocket before guest-passenger and in luggage compartment. The car for the measuring was used Renaul Scénic my. 2004.
Wireless Security and Surveillance System
Výborný, Jiří ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Prokopec, Jan (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with design and construction of a wireless security and surveillance system in ZigBee wireless networks (IEEE802.15.4). The design consists of creating a star network topology with intended monitoring of home area via end device boards paired with coordinator board, which provides basic networking functionality. End device is used to send data from a temperature sensor DS1631 and magnetic reed switches to coordinator. ZigBee module ZDM-A1281-A2 made by MeshNetics company embedded on each board contains a micro controller ATMega1281 and a transceiver AT86RF230 working in a 2,4GHz frequency band. System is able to notice of any door or window move actions and too high temperature. The non-fully functional ZigBee stack, which is called an Open MAC software, based on MAC (Media Access Control ) layer and PHY (Physical) layer from MeshNetics, has been used to develop the user software. Open MAC consists of three application samples in C code. One of them was modified by the user for an application of communication between the module and sensors. The same design with module RC2204AT made by Radiocrafts company was tested as well, but it couldn’t be executed. All developed boards have been constructed and tested via Terminal PC program.
Control of wireless ZigBee network

The Master’s Thesis deals with a ZigBee technology and its devices working each other in wireless personal area network. The ZigBee and its advantages are compared with other wireless protocols working in ISM bands. A first part deals with a topology of IEEE 802.4.15 WPAN and the ZigBee features. Types and format of the ZigBee data-frame are mentioned. A Second part of this thesis describes a design and testing of the ZigBee devices. Results of this thesis are demonstrated on ZMU (ZigBee Modules Utility) program that has been developed for the testing of this technology.
