This master’s thesis defines conditions for a family business in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. It characterizes enterprise’s forms used in each of these countries, their tax systems, other obligatory payments to the state budget and financing forms. It compares the backgrounds of family business activities and it defines problems that the family business has to solve.

Bachelor thesis Strategic decisions and their impact on a family business functioning discusses the importance of strategic management in the modern enterprise. The intention of this work is to develop a strategic analysis for a specific company and suggest strategy concept. The theoretical part thoroughly describes the steps required to create a strategy, including the creation of strategic analysis. The practical part is characteristic of a particular family business, evaluating the success of the strategic decisions taken by management in the past and draft corporate strategy. Selected company has never introduced any form of strategic management into their processes, therefore proposed mission, vision, goals and strategy are recommendations for its better functioning.
Internet shop in family business

This thesis focuses on the Internet shop in family business. In the first part the terms Internet shop and family business are specified. Its formation, development, advantages and disadvantages are defined, as well as the usage of Internet in marketing and the factors of success and problems connected with family business. The second part describes in detail chosen areas of the company Ryor -- the environment of its e-shop, advertising and distribution of products. This part gives a description of functioning mentioned areas. The real state is confronted with technical literature. On the basis of that, shortcomings are got. Moreover, suggestions for better functioning of chosen areas are formed. The second part of thesis also includes SWOT analysis of e-shop, analysis of competitors and questionnaire survey about customer's satisfaction with areas that the thesis explores.
Performance differences between czech family and non-family businesses

This thesis describes the issue of family businesses and aims to their performance differences with non-family businesses. The first chapter discuss, in theory, the definitions of a family business, its role in the world and mainly in the Czech Republic, and their performance. In the second part, the performance parametres of the largest czech family companies and their non- family competitive companies are compared. The methodology that is used in the second part consists of working in Albertina database program and the calculation of matched T-test in the end. The aim is the difference in the performance parametres of the database output.

Family business is a business in which family members have a large stake in ownership and also a deciding vote on business operation. This thesis deals with what makes the family businesses thriving. The research is conducted using the Good to Great framework by Jim Collins. Based mainly on quantitative and qualitative survey of 8 Czech companies of various fields and sizes, it was discovered that there are some links between the companies' success. These findings yield a set of recommendations, which is provided in the last chapter.
Optimization of taxation transfer businesses between family members

The diploma thesis is focused on generational change in the family business and apprises of the development, status and advantage of running a family business in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Furthermore, the diploma thesis focuses on sociological and tax obstacles in connection with the process of business transformation. It examines the impact of direct taxes on possible options of transferring the business which is carried on under a trade license. The main options are as follows: the transfer to limited liability company, the transfer to trust, the transfer to sell or giving the business free of charge. The theoretical findings are applied to the particular case concerning the transfer of the family business from father to his son.

Small and medium-sized companies in Italy --the backbone of the economy or an obsolete production system? Analyse and prediction of the future development. This thesis is focused on the problems of small and medium-sized companies in Italy in the actual context of globalization and strong competion, especially in the traditional italian industries. Moreover, the political situation in the country is quite unstable and together with the omnipresent bureaucracy the everyday life is more difficult for the companies. In the first part I introduce the history backgrounds of the small and middle-sized companies and also the italian phenomenon "distretti industriali" -- indutrial districts. I also dedicated the first chapter to the specific features of family companies. In the second part the main social-economic problems of the country are described as well as some possible strategies in the context of the state export-focused programmes coordinated on the EU level. With the help of some companies that agreed to answer my questionary I tried to analyse the situation in state assistance to these companies In the last part, the reactions and answers of the companies are summed-up.

Especially after generational change in family business, proposals of this thesis can become a topic for further consideration and basis for the successor activity in the area of human resources management.
