Peterková, Julie ; Drda Morávková, Alena (advisor) ; Španielová, Hana (referee)
A B S T R A C T Almost every day each of us can read or hear in the media a lot of distorted information concerning HIV or AIDS. Therefore it is necessary to have knowledge about the possible risks of HIV transmission and all ways the HIV can be transferred. These attitudes and preventive measures of knowledge should be developed in high school students who are experiencing very rapid physical and psychosocial growth. Sufficient amount of information available in the problem group of 15-24 year olds has a positive impact on their sexual behavior and thus on prevention. My research methods of knowledge about HIV were done in two schools, one is an eight-year high school, where 24 students of fifth year were questioned and second is a four- year high school, where 24 students of first year were questioned. I used a cross-sectional pre-test and post-test. Students of the fifth year were taken deeper into the problems through creation of posters on topics connected with the problem of HIV. The aim of my research is to develop proposals for the scientific conference, which will be lead by the students and will be accompanied by the created images (posters). This is a non-violent way of repeating the HIV prevention. Creating a pre-test and post-test to determine the extent of knowledge gained after completing the...

Selma Brandl: Die Moderne Reitschule, Der richtige Weg zur Harmonie im Sattel (chap. Dressur) - commented translation
Bártová, Hana ; Svoboda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kloudová, Věra (referee)
The object of my bachelor thesis - which is a translation of a text about horse riding and its commentary - is to make a translation that could be published without many improvements in the magazine Jezdectví or on the website Equichannel. While translating, I followed the translation process of Jirí Levý which he describes in his book Umení prekladu. First, I analysed the original text according to Christiane Nord, then I looked for text parts difficult to translate. I analysed them in their broader context and I chose suitable Czech equivalents for them. During terminology translation, I followed the rules of Czech Equestrian Federation and other literature. Because there is not enough Czech written or into Czech translated literature about horse riding - especially about dressage - I would like to extend the literary basis of this sport. Dressage and horse riding in general are not as popular as e.g. in Germany that is why I try to address the recipient more strongly to get him interested in the text. The first part of my work is dedicated to the translation, in which I do not leave out translation of the picture legend; the second part deals with the analysis of the original text and in the last part I discuss translation problems that I had to solve and I confront the original text with the translation...

Life with HIV/AIDS: A Narrative Construction of Identity
Miott, Jana ; Morávek, Jan (advisor) ; Kotík, Michal (referee)
HIV/AIDS is an illness that is more correlated than any other with high rates of stigmatization and discrimination. People diagnosed with this illness have to cope with a new potentially life threatning situation and stigmatized identity. Common social interactions or heath complications become a potential source of confrontation, which can endanger social relations, or damage and spoil the identity of people living with HIV/AIDS. This study jointly analyzes the concept of social and health risks, stigmatization and identity and focuses on the following: 1) The process of coping with the diagnosis and its impact on the identity and everyday life of people living with HIV/AIDS 2) The role of accessible social networks on the coping process with this illness and stigmatization; and 3) The strategies of health and social risk management used in connection with this illness. Awareness and acquisition of information on HIV/AIDS plays an important role in overcomming the initial shock of the diagnosis and coping with the disease. Thanks to the support of social networks, the diagnosed person can reach much easier and faster the so called "rational approach" to the illness and safely awknowledge and accept HIV/AIDS as a part of his or her life. People living with HIV/AIDS also face many risks. In this...
