Tensiomyography – measurement uncertainty analysis
Sikorová, Pavlína ; Mornstein, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vlk, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of measurement uncertainty during the tensiomyographic measuring. Seven factors have been suggested (i.e. uncertainties), that may cause an error in measurement. Their influence on the measured parameters was tested in a series of experiments on m. biceps femoris and m. biceps brachii of two subjects. The results of these tests were then compared with the referential values from the physiotherapist and the device manufacturer. Based on this comparison, the extent of uncertainty of diagnostically essential parameters Dm and Dc has been designated. Dm is heavily influenced by six parameters out of seven, whereas Tc is influenced only by one.

The effect of physical activity interventions on the course and activity of selected rheumatic diseases
Špiritović, Maja ; Tomčík, Michal (advisor) ; Horák, Pavel (referee) ; Soukup, Tomáš (referee)
Introduction: This work focused on two rare rheumatic diseases systemic sclerosis (SSc) and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM). Skin and musculoskeletal involvement in patients with SSc leads to disability and loss of functional abilities of an individual. Chronic inflammation of the muscles, subsequent muscle atrophy and permanent muscle damage in patients with IIM are the cause of a decrease in muscle strength and endurance. Moreover, both diseases also affect internal organs and manifest often with impaired lung and heart function. All of these involvements in both diseases lead to a decrease in the quality of life of patients. The data on efficacy of non-pharmacological care in SSc and IIM are very limited due to the heterogeneity of the studied interventions and/or outcomes. However, due to limitations in pharmacological therapy, non-pharmacological interventions could help bring patients back into their everyday life and improve their quality of life. Objectives: The main objective of this project was to evaluate the impact of physical intervention on disease course and activity in a substantial number of SSc and IIM patients, with the aim of minimizing the limitations of available studies, thereby improving the quality and reliability of the obtained results. Methods: This is a...
The effectiveness of chosen unconventional rehabilitation methods in Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Ikonomi, Krist ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the science' state of unconventional physical therapies, such as yoga therapy (YT) and equine-assisted therapy (EAT), in the treatment of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children and young adolescents. The aim of this systematic review is to highlight the effects of unconventional physiotherapy in autism. Data from 12 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were retrieved and analyzed to help with the making of this review. Physical, cognitive and social functions were measured in approximately 530 children and adolescents with autism, always partaking in either case or control group. Results indicate that the above mentioned therapies have an overall positive impact in the treatment of autism by reducing the stereotypical behaviors and increasing the cognitive and social functions. Participants vary from 4 to 16 years of age. There is still a gap of knowledge when it comes to all the direct effects and action mechanisms of such therapies in the lives of these children. Therefore a lot of space for further studies is present and also recommended. Future RCTs are needed to better refine treatment choices, in order to come up with new and better ways of dealing with such disorder. Keywords: physiotherapy; yoga therapy; horse riding therapy;...
