This bachelor's thesis is specialized search dealing with diesel engine turbochargers. The work is divided into four main parts. The first part deals with positives of supercharging, history of turbochargers and principle of supercharging. The second part describes particular construction solution. The third part is focused on systems of regulation. The last part attends to development trends of turbochargers.
Formula Student intake system
Ševčík, Miroslav ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes air intake design of Formula Student cars. The first section describes the rules of the competition. In second part we can find description of individual components of the intake system. The third chapter describes the different ways of supercharging and cars that use them. The last chapter provides an overview of possible innovations in the rules for 2015.
Up-to-date Methods of Supercharging
Strouhal, Pavel ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the currently used methods of supercharging internal combustion engines in passenger vehicles. It discusses not only the possibility of improving the overall characteristics of the drive unit, but also the design and layout of the filling aggregates, their regulation a possible failures. It also looks into the issue of reducing emissions of the exhaust gases and shows its dependence on the given methods of supercharging. Short mention includes then some today used engines and their mutual comparison. The result is a summary of knowledge required to understand the basic principles of supercharging, which is today the most common way to increase the performance and efficiency of internal combustion engines.
Methods in Power Increasing of CI and SI Engines
Freisleben, Pavel ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on supercharging and its effects on gasoline and diesel engines. It describes different ways of supercharging. In these ways of supercharging, it lists advantages and disadvantages. In the most common ways of supercharging, it mentions in detail the structural elements. It describes the material for producing, the shape of parts and its possible drawbacks. It contains a brief history and modern options of supercharging. In some concepts, the cases of specific turbocharged engines are mentioned.
Up-to-date Methods of Charging Processes
Górnisiewicz, Tomáš ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with up-to-date methods of charging processes used in combustion engines of contemporary cars. Major emphasis is put on turbocharged petrol engines. Principles of charging process are explained as well as the most common and extraordinary ways of charging process. Following chapter contains summary of present-day turbocharged and supercharged engines. Final part describes turbocharger failures. Turbo-charging represents an elementary way to increase engine power and allows designing high efficient engines of small dimensions.
Radial cylinder aircraft engines
Šimíček, Petr ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is focused on design of aircraft radial engines. Home is a treatise on the history of aircraft radial engines and their development in historical context. The second part is focused on the construction of radial engines of aircraft, then are some interesting construction solutions and compared with the engine of another type of construction.
Passenger Vehicles Drive Unit Recent Development
Sedlář, Martin ; Svída, David (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is an overview of modern drive units trends. The first part of this thesis demonstrates combusting engines sorting; the next main part is an overview of a few drive units which are characteristic for their categories. There is a comparison of two lower power class engine representatives and two higher power class representatives in final chapter. The conclusion summarizes described topic and expresses own opinion.
Modern methods of supercharger internal combustion engines
Blaha, Adam ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is aimed at the supercharged engines with the internal combustion. Here are mentioned various types of a charging considering design and use, typical diagrams appearance and the boost control. Considering the name of this bachelor´s thesis the old types of charging or these which are not in use today for any reason are not purposely mentioned here.
Overcharging of combustion engines
