A New Generation of an IPFIX Collector
Huták, Lukáš ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis addresses processing of flow monitoring records from a point of view of an IPFIX collector. It analysis the current solution of the modular collector, which went through considerable historical development, and focuses on revealing its strengths and weaknesses. Based on acquired knowledge, a new collector is designed. The new solution, which significantly modifies individual components for processing of flow records, focuses on high throughput and adds missing functionalities. The document also compares performance of both generations and the new collector clearly dominates.
Are there any temperature related changes in morphological integration of Micrasterias cells?
Buchtová, Edith ; Neustupa, Jiří (advisor) ; Kleisner, Karel (referee)
Micrasterias rotata is a phylogenetically and morphologically well defined species that is widely distributed in Central Europe in a broad temperature gradient. For its complex cell shape Micrasterias rotata is a suitable model organism for cell morphogenesis research. This thesis investigated whether there could be a different pattern in morphological integration resulting from the temperature stress in Micrasterias rotata cells cultivated on a temperature gradient. The optimum and a limits of growth on the temperature gradient were related to the sampling locations of the studied strains isolated from a lowland wetland and an high alpine lake. Differences in the growth rates among the strains suggested a local adaptation to the climatic conditions of the original locations but relatively high values of the assumed optimum growth temperature suggested an intra- species evolutionary adaptation. The temperature-related size reduction rule was not confirmed; however, a similar pattern of variation in shape occurred in both strains. The morphological integration analysis has basically confirmed that the Micrasterias cell is composed of a number of morphological modules related to its differentiation into the lobes and sublobes. Integration between the lobes of the opposite semicell was primarily...

Changes of the facial skeleton in Central Europe during the last 1200 years
Bejdová, Šárka
The objective of the Dissertation was to describe, quantify and interpret to which degree the shape and size of the facial skeleton of people living in the territory of today's Czech Republic in the period from the Early Middle Ages to the present day, i.e. in the course of the approx. last 1200 years, have changed. In this time period, morphological differences between populations, changes in the sexual dimorphism, modularity and allometry of the facial skeleton were examined. The evaluation was based on CT-images of skulls from three historical populations, specifically from the Early Middle Ages, High Middle Ages and the early modern period. The current population was represented by CT-images of living people. We studied the facial skeletons of a total of 329 individuals, of which 183 were men and 146 women. The CT- images were used as a base for the creation of virtual 3D surface models. The facial skeleton was divided into three morphological units, which were further examined. These were the skeleton of the upper face, lower jaw and palate. The statistical processing was carried out applying methods of geometric morphometrics allowing the separate studying of the shape and size variability of the examined units. When comparing the size and shape differences between studied populations it is...

The architecture of regulatory network of metabolism
Geryk, Jan ; Flegr, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Cvrčková, Fatima (referee) ; Šafránek, David (referee)
The thesis focus on the modularity of metabolic network and foremost on the architecture of regulatory network representing direct regulatory interactions between metabolites and enzymes. I focus on the "modularity measure" in my first work. Modularity measure is quantitative measure of network modularity commonly used for module identification. It was showed that algorithms using this measure can produce modules that are composed of two clearly pronounced sub-modules. Maximum size of module for which there is a risk that is is composed of two sub-modules is called resolution limit of modularity measure. In my first work I generalize resolution limit of modularity measure. The generalized version provide insight to the origin of resolution limit in the null-model used by modularity measure. Moreover it is showed that the risk of omitting of sub-modular structures applies for bigger modules than mentioned in the original publication. The second work is focused on the question how does the modular structure of E. coli metabolic network change if we add regulatory interactions. I find that the modularity of modular core of network slightly increase after regulatory edges addition. The modularity increase is significant with respect to randomized ensemble of regulatory networks. Identified modules...

Optimalizace vybraných parametrů rozdělovací klapky testování turbodmychadel
Handl, Martin
The thesis includes the general issue of turbocharger testing and single methods of testing. It deals with the testing of turbochargers on gas burners and gas burners in combination with diverting valve, describes their capabilities and application. Diverting valve is solved in terms of optimizing the shape and material solutions for acceptable stress distribution and increasing its modularity.
