The issue of disability in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis "The issue of disability in the Czech Republic" deals with the system of disability assesment and assigning of disability pension and the next social help, which is designed for the handicapped people, with concentration on the changes, which happened in 2010 and 2012. The aim of this thesis is to assess the system, show how the system works in practice and present the advantages and disadvantages of the system. The first part shows the question in theory, explain the basic terms and relevant legislation and tries to assess on basis of existent articles or interviews with experts. The second part deals with analysis of interviews, which were made with disabled people, medical assessor and officer from OSSZ. Aim is to show how the system works in practice and how is assessed by mentioned participants and by the author.
Financial and legal regulation of pension companies and pension funds

Legal regulation of pension companies and pension funds The Master's thesis concentrates on the main issues of the legal regulation of pension companies, the designated providers of pension savings and supplementary pension savings in the Czech Republic. The thesis evaluates the reform of the pension schemes constituted by Act No. 426/2011 Coll., on Pension Savings, Act No. 427/2011 Coll., on Supplementary Pension Savings, and Act No. 428/2011 Coll., amending Certain Acts in Connection with the Adoption of the Act on Pension Savings and the Act on Supplementary Pension Savings. The thesis is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1 is an introductory part defining the purpose of the thesis. Chapter 2 describes the pension savings regulation in the Czech Republic prior to the reform's effective date (i.e., 1 January 2013). Chapter 3 describes the pension reform and its justification. Chapter 4 concentrates on the pension companies as the managers of pension funds and supplementary pension funds. The regulation of pension funds is described in Chapter 5 while the regulation of supplementary pension funds is described in Chapter 6. Old age pension

The aim the thesis is to describe the legislation of old age pension in the Czech Republic which is currently being in a process of significant change due to unfavourable demographical development in our country - birth-rate is decreasing, average life expectancy is increasing as well as the average age of a population. The result of ageing of the Czech population is an inability to maintain the current system, because of its financial demands. Old age pension is the most common benefit of a social insurance and its costs represent the highest expenses of the social insurance. Old age pension is supposed to substitute the loss or restriction of a salary which are caused by the age as well as by social occurrence. The thesis is composed of five chapters. The most important terminology related to old age pension is defined in the first part, followed by the description of its historic development, which has had an impact on the Czech legislation used nowadays. The paper also focuses on the conditions of an old age pension legitimate claim and describes the process that is used in terms of social insurance procedure. Development of pension insurance and plans for the reform

The content of my graduation theses is historical development of pension insurance and plans for the reform in Czech Republic. In historical part I tried to refer to our long-term tradition of legal form of pension insurance and point out the most significant legal enactments of this branch of law. I also tried to answer the question if we can prosper from the experience of history when preparing the new pension reform. In the other part of my work I summarized the deficiency and positive aspects of current pension system in Czech Republic and also I referred to need to pass a new legal form of pension system with regards to financial untenability of the system and demographic development. I tried to describe present political and special endeavors of pension system reform that has been in progress since 1990 and than I pointed out the current discussion about pension reform. The object of my work was not to find out the ideal pension reform, because I think there is no ideal reform, but just to advert to necessity to change the current system. The role of the Czech public media in the pension reform discourse

The thesis 'The role of the Czech public media in the pension reform discourse' aims to provide a critical reflection on the role of the Czech Television and the Czech Radio in the debate over the changes in the pension scheme of the Czech Republic. The principal method used for that is the discourse analysis, which comprises quality and quantity analysis of the media output, interviews and personal observation. The research project focuses on the context the debate over the pension reform occurs and how it is presented in the public media. The theoretical part summarizes the theoretical concepts used in the research project, i.e. concepts from the field of public policy, social policy, mass communication and discourse analysis. The empirical part examines the institutional development of the pension reform, its variations in political, scholarly (Czech and international) and public discourse. The major part of the research project is based on the discourse analysis of the pension reform discourse in the Czech public media. The role of the public media in the pension reform discourse is deduced on the basis of the theoretical and empirical parts.

Resumé - Cizí jazyk The Development of the Czech Republic Pension System and Its Application in the Legal Form The In this thesis I presented a comprehensive overview of the current pension system in the Czech Republic and introduced some changes to the pension system of the Czech Republic that has been already clarified or will be very probably clarified by the modifications in the legal regulations. The content of my thesis is directly related to the pension reform in the Czech Republic and I also described some impacts of the modifications in the legal tax regulations system.Czech Republic is another country that will have to deal with unfavorable demographic progress of its population such as increasing number of seniors and decreasing amount of subjects that contribute to the pension system. That might result in the financial instability and that is also a reason for preparation and implementation of the Czech pension system reform. I'm convinced that pension system as a part of the country's social system is one of the crucial economics cornerstones of every country. Changes in the pension system in the Czech Republic effective from 1 January 2013 and their impact on public budgets

The aim of this study is to determine the quantitative impact of changes to the pension system in the Czech Republic valid from January 1, 2013 on public budgets. Changes include the introduction of a funded second-pillar pension scheme and the adjustment of pension schemes under the third pillar. The theoretical part describes the basis of social policy in the areas of pensions, and characterize and compare concepts of pension systems. Following practical part analyzes recent developments in the Czech Republic, the essence of changes to the pension system and the interest of the population to use them. The aim of the study is fulfiled by quantifying impact on public budget. Subsequent analysis shows that changes may help to stabilize it in the next decades, however, a departure from the PAYG system is not required. The introduced second pillar can be problematic in ceratin respects for participants. Additional pension savings in the third pillar is a useful supplement to old age security.
Analysis of supplementary pension insurance between the years 1994 and 2015

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of supplementary pension insurance market. Primary goal of the thesis is to offer a complex analysis of the development of supplementary pension insurance between the years 1994 and 2015. Thesis offers a preview and summary of theoretical approaches towards pension security along with a link to progression of those approaches in Czech republic. Supplementary pension insurance is analyzed from a standpoint of conditions of the product, its gradual development, macroeconomic context and general overview of its positives and negatives. Thesis thereafter concentrates on comparative analysis of companies operating on the market, description of current changes and outlines possible future development and possible future challenges for additional pension savings.
