Contemporary Foreign Policy of Iran

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze contemporary relations of Iran with the United States and European Union, states in the region, China and Russia. In the first chapter the history of Iran in the 20. century is mentioned, in more detail the second half of the 20. century. In the second chapter the situation in home politics in Iran - its development, structure, present state and influence of shia islam is described. In the key third chapter the foreign-political relations of Iran are analyzed. Development of the relations with certain country or union and then the main issues in the relations are mentioned in each part of the third chapter. First the relations with the United States and European Union are described. Nuclear programme and support of terrorism are the main issues. The iranian relations with countries in the region are following. They are divided into Arab states and Israel. In the part concerning Arab states the work lay stress on iranian influence in Iraq, relations with Saudi Arabia and Syria. The relations with Israel are influenced by nuclear programme and support of terrorism. The relations with China are especially concerned with trade with energy. The last part covers the relations with Russia. The main role plays in these relations oil in the Caspian sea ad relations with countries in the Central Asia and Caucasus. In the end the position of Iran on the international stage is considered.

Political and economic intergation of Czechoslovakia to the Eastern Bloc

My bachelor's thesis goes back to the period of the end of the World War II, especially to the period of three years after the end. The goal is to provide a complex insight of events of that period when Czechoslovakia got in thrall to the Soviet Union. It is focused on particular political and economic events in Czechoslovakia used by Moscow to show its objectives in Central Europe. Firstly, I analyzed the situation during liberation of Czechoslovakia by the Red Army and just after. I focused on the Government Programme of Košice, Soviet critic of the Prague Uprising and the Czech National Council. Secondly, I analyzed Moscow's pressure about Těšín area situation and annexation of the Subcarpathian Rus, government elections of 1946 and influence of its results on building up relations between Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union. In the area of economic relations, I focused on disputes about war booty, new trade contracts negotiations with the USSR and consequent problems that escalated with Moscow's dictate about the Marshall Plan adoption. After that, I examined the conception of politics of Edvard Beneš and his relation to the USSR being a person that believed in victory of democracy.

Tradition and present of the Czech-Danish relations

The diploma thesis describes and analyses relations between the Czech state and the Kingdom of Denmark. It is focused on the time period from the Middle Ages till today, however the key part examines the 20th century. The diploma thesis comprises several areas of the Czech-Danish relations, mainly deals with the political and diplomatic affairs and focuses also on economic and cultural connections. Due to lack of printed sources the thesis draws from the materials of the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and is therefore the first comprehensive overview of the relations between these two states.

Argentine - U.S. Bilateral Relations during military junta (1976 - 1983)

The topic of this diploma thesis is Argentine - U.S. bilateral relations during the rule of military junta in Argentina from 1976 to 1983. It deals with the most discussed topics such as human rights violations, grain embargo towards USSR, Falkland islands war, cooperation and competition in Central America, nuclear cooperation. It covers period from the fall of government of María Estela Isabel de Perón and the rise of military junta to the resignation of Leopoldo Galtieri and celebration of free elections in 1983 in Argentina. From the USA side it covers periods of the late Ford administration, entire Carter administration and first years of Reagan administration.

Tradice a současnost diplomatických vztahů České republiky a Norska

Práce shrnuje česko-norské vztahy od počátku (19. století) do současnosti (2008). Zaměřuje se především na vývoj československé a české zahraniční politiky ve vztahu k Norsku. Jsou popsány obchodní vztahy mezi oběma zeměmi (včetně hodnot obchodní výměny), dále kulturní, školská a vědecká spolupráce. Samostatně je pojednáno o vztahu obou zemí k Evropské unii a také o vlivu EU na vztahy ČR a Norska.

Visegrád Dimension of Foreign Policy of the Slovak Republic

Visegrádska skupina, tzv. V4, je príkladom regionálneho neformálneho zoskupenia v stredoeurópskom regióne. V4 vznikla z vôle Slovenskej republiky, Českej republiky, Maďarska a Poľska s cieľom spoločnými silami dosiahnuť návrat do demokratickej Európy. Od začiatku spolupráce v roku 1991 zohrávalo Slovensko (spočiatku súčasť ČSFR) vo Visegráde dôležitú úlohu, raz ako jeden z dôvodov jeho ?odumretia?, inokedy ako motor jeho ?znovuoživenia?. Koniec koncov visegrádska dimenzia bola a do súčasnosti je jednou z priorít slovenskej zahraničnej politiky. Slovenská diplomacia vníma V4 ako fungujúcu a opodstatnenú platformu stredoeurópskej spolupráce, v rámci regiónu i na celoeurópskej úrovni.
