The aim of this work is to sort and schematically describe single types of heat exchangers. The problems of their fouling, fouling monitoring and fouling speed reduction are discussed as well. This work also contains an analysis of fouling effects and possible ways of their removal.
Single-stage steam turbine
Hrnčířová, Michaela ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deal with project for single-stage steam turbine specified to the steam reduction station combined thermal cycle. Involvement rotary reduction is elective, to was enough exploited steam power. For the specified parameters was proposed designed the acceptable conception of turbo-generator with a direct connection to an asynchronous generator. The most important part work is the thermodynamic calculation of the flow part whose aim is achieve maximum efficiency and operation of turbines. To increase in efficiency and on the basis engeged turns is considered using of bandage. Also is effected the choice of acceptable steam paddings.
Cleaning efficiency of vertical root filters
Opletal, Jan ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was a survey about efectivity of vertical flow constructed wetlands. I find out, that vertical inttermitently flooded constructed wetland proved to be the most effecicient in pollution removal, based on data analysis form constructed wetland treatment plant in Kotenčice. The only disadvantage was weak denitrification process. Vertical filter was compared with series of horizontal and vertical continuosly flowed constructed wetland. Combination of horizontal and vertical filter was efficient enough to treat waste water, but it cannot be compared with vertical intermittently floded filter. Series of horozontal and vertical fully flooded constructed wetland had a low treatment efficiency.
The design of the measures for flood protection in the small watershed
Hrnčíř, Rudolf ; Ing.Daniel Doubrava (referee) ; Doležal, Petr (advisor)
My thesis is focused on project of water management measure which should intercept torrential water endangering municipality Starovice. Intensity of soil ablation of affected land is evaluated by Wischmeier-Smith method. Based on the result of long-term soil lost and gathered materials and information three options of erosion control are suggested. Thereafter these options are compared on the basis of efficiency and the most suitable and the most effective option is selected. Also parameters of intercepting ditch are recommended and it is projected for capacity of direct water runoff from slopes above the ditch. As part of thesis maps were created using ArcGIS program and sample diagonal incisions of the intercepting ditch were created in AutoCad program.
Creation and experimental verification of portfolio teaching aids in accounting
Bromová, Michaela ; Krpálková Krelová, Katarína (advisor) ; Berková, Kateřina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of teaching aids in the educational process. The attention in the first part of the work is paid to the analysis of the teaching aids functions and to the significance degree of their position in teaching. The work makes us acquainted with all the theoretical knowledge every teacher should know even prior to the creation and inclusion of relevant teaching aid within a lesson. In addition to the theory diploma thesis also provides a basic insight into the current modern concept of these didactic means. Furthermore, this area is analysed here from the point of view of experimental verification of the in teaching. This research shows how big or small the level of importance this resource has throughout the educational process and what other results there were achieved after an intensive spooling of teaching aids to lessons of accountancy. A detailed analysis pointing out all the changes and the tendencies that reign in the course of the implementation of the experiment and also after its termination. In conclusion, there is also advice and recommendations, compiled on the basis of the evaluation results that have been achieved in the framework of the pedagogical experiment.
Comparative analysis of the economic results of commercial banks VTB24 and Gazprom
Ignatyeva, Valentina ; Heřman, Jan (advisor) ; Zeman, Karel (referee)
to analyze the profitability and the efficiency of these banks, by using the calculation of financial indicators, as well as to identify the alleged tendency of development of banks. Based on the results of above calculation we can determine which bank is more successful in personal or business sector.
Determination of the efficiency of solar collectors covered makrolon plates.
MATĚJKA, Jan
This thesis deals with the alternative cover of the liquid solar collector. It describes the structure of the solar collector itself and the influence of various parameters that directly affect its effectiveness. It analyses technical - economic possibilities of the usual type of the glazing and compares them with possibilities to cover the collector with the makrolon plates. The aim is to perform a theoretical evaluation to find out whether the referenced type of covers, due to its characteristics, could be used. In conclusion the evaluation of values and possibilities of its practical use are shown.
Income poverty in the Czech Republic and social transfer system effectiveness in its elimination in years 2005-2013
Kubelková, Karina ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee) ; Průša, Ladislav (referee) ; Kalmus, Jaromír (referee)
The dissertation deals with the issue of poverty in the Czech Republic, especially with its economic, political and historical context of development, theory and practice of its measurement and possible international comparability, both in scale and in terms of the effectiveness of social transfers system. The effectiveness is understood as reducing the extent of poverty represented by the at-risk-of-poverty rate used e.g. in Europe 2020 Strategy. The aim of the dissertation is to analyze the problem of income poverty and its development in the Czech Republic with a special focus on the effectiveness of the social transfers system in relation to reducing the extent of income poverty. The effectiveness is analyzed separately in case of social transfers as a whole, and in case of social transfers excluding old-age and survivors' pensions. The emphasis has been placed on international comparisons and on the poorest layers of the population represented by the study of the lower poverty lines than the standard one. Based on empirical analysis of survey data from the EU-SILC, it was disproved that the effectiveness of the Czech social transfers system was above average compared to the countries of the same welfare state model, the CEE region and the EU during the years 2005-2013. The Czech pension system plays a crucial role in the level of effectiveness of the social transfers system. The good position of the Czech Republic among the all three studied groups of countries in terms of effectiveness is maintained mainly thanks to its pension system. The current low level of poverty rate was achieved mainly thanks to the pre-crisis measures, respectively due to the specific timing of these measures package. The contribution of this dissertation consists in complex and systematized view of the income poverty in the Czech Republic, accompanied by the analysis of the effectiveness of the social transfer system. This analysis, owing to the time series (2005-2013), applied methods (methods of the European Commission vs. IZA method) and scope of the international comparison (welfare state model, CEE region and EU), has no similarity in the Czech scientific literature so far.
Odhad zajišťovacího poměru (Hedge Ratio) v řízení zásob
Máková, Barbora ; Černý, Michal (advisor) ; Cahlík, Tomáš (referee)
Companies dependent on commodities for their production have to deal with volatile commodity prices and should employ measures for risk reduction as unfavourable spot price development may cause significant losses. A useful tool for diminishing the risk is hedging on futures market; however, this approach faces a crucial question of optimal hedge ratio determination (ratio between spot and futures units). Our thesis examines nine different ways of optimal hedge ratio estimation (naive, Sharpe, mean extended Gini coefficient, generalized semivariance, value at risk, and minimum variance through OLS, error correction, GARCH, and bivariate GARCH models) and evaluates their efficiency using the data on eight different commodities. The results differ across the respective commodities and cannot be generalized. Two conclusions resulting from the analysis refer to performance of naive and OLS hedge ratios and constant vs time varying hedge ratios. We find that complex hedge ratios, such as bivariate GARCH or VaR hedge ratios, do not outperform naive and OLS hedge ratios and that the results of constant hedge ratios are mostly as good as results of time-varying hedge ratios.
Effectiveness of development aid in sub Saharan Africa
Žaloudková, Jana ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Neumann, Pavel (referee)
Region of sub Saharan Africa receives the most resources from development aid in the long term and at the same time there is a highest number of least develop countries. Therefore thesis is dedicated to the matter of effectiveness of development aid. Introducing problems and overall characteristics of the region, development aid and its historic development is goal of the first chapter. In the second chapter effectiveness of development aid is examined through analysis of selected studies from distinguished authors within the field, moreover the scope is dedicated to issues of measurability of development aid and the question of inappropriately setting of goals. Following chapter is concentrated on dependency of sub Saharan countries to donor countries and agencies providing aid and to motives of those donors to intervene in this region. Emphasis is put on neo-colonialism as a representative form of this dependency. Ending of the thesis is dedicated to Norway that provides high amount of resources to development aid measured by share of the GDP in the long term.
