Mortars with Alternative Materials
Kozielová, Silvie ; Sokola, Lubomír (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with building material mortar. These are mainly the use of waste materials from industry to replace part of the filler or binder to produce mortar. The theoretical part deals with information about the classification and properties of mortar on their ingredients and methods of use. Collectively describes alternative raw materials suitable for use in mortar production and trends of our time for its production. The practical part is focused precisely on the use of alternative raw materials to replace part of the filler or binder to produce mortar. Evaluated and compared with the properties achieved by the mortar with the selected raw materials waste.
Research on the Preparation of Masonry Mortars
Koláček, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Gazdič, Dominik (advisor)
This thesis deals with development in the preparation of masonry mortars. The theoretical part focuses on basic knowledge of mortars, individual types of mortar, preparation methods and individual components from which the mortar is composed. The practical part deals with the proposed reference and modified mortar mixtures and compares their technological properties.
Development and Propertied of Historic Masonry Mortar
Lišovský, Martin ; Kulísek, Karel (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with development and propertied of historic masonry mortar, especially lime mortars and their modifications using pozzolan. In the recipe developed in the experimental part, metakaolin is used for the modification. The technological and application properties of mortars made from these formulations are then compared with the commercial mortar SCHWENK TM 5, which is modified by the suevite trass.
Mission and goals of the Order of Malta
Pánek, Robin ; Suchánek, Drahomír (advisor) ; Drška, Václav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the mission, goals and tasks of the chivalric and hospitaller Order of Malta from its foundation until the conquest of Malta in 1798. It examines the development of the main tasks of the Order and their transformation depending on the current international situation and the location of the seat of the Order. The thesis deals with the form of these tasks in each of the seats of the Order (in the Holy Land, on Rhodes and on Malta), as well as with their transformation in the environment of the Commanderies on the European continent. The main emphasis is laid on the development of the two main branches of the order's mission, tasks of hospitaller nature and the military ones. The primary goal of the thesis is exploration of the overall development of these goals and tasks and the comparison of their development in the seats of the Order and the European Commanderies.
Survey and assessment of masonry building castle
Kopecký, Martin ; Kocáb, Dalibor (referee) ; Cikrle, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the diagnostics of masonry structures. In the theoretical part of this thesis it is described the system of assessment of existing structures and then the assessment of existing masonry structures. The next chapter states the methods of survey of masonry structures, including evaluation. The practical part of the thesis deals with the survey of the building of a small castle. This survey includes a brief history of the castle building, the preliminary inspection of the building and the research of the supporting structure. The result of the survey is to determine the material characteristics of masonry.
Plasticizers replacing lime in cement-lime mortars
Kajsrlík, Jan ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Vyšvařil, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of replacing lime in lime-cement plaster mortars. Considering commercially sold products, it explores the ways of replacing lime qualities by organic materials. Their influence on density, beam test and compression strength are researched; absorption capacity, frost resistance, capillary absorption coefficient are also assessed. Finally the organic materials are compared with the qualities of the lime-cement mortar
Effect of partial replacement of Portland cement by diatomaceous earth on selected parameters of cement mortar
Rousková, Jana ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Rovnaníková, Pavla (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is selected parameters cement mortars with partial replacement of Portland cement diatomaceous earth. This work provides information on the basic properties of diatomaceous earth and its deposits with a focus on deposit in Borovany. From the properties is very important pozzolanic activity due to the high content of amorphous silica of this soil. The main use of diatomaceous earth is in the area filtration and is used widely as a nutritional supplement. In the building industry, diatomite can be applied as an admixture to mortar and concrete, where it can, with its abilities, improve some physical mechanical properties. In the experimental part was diatomaceous earth, in its raw and calcined form, tested as admixture for cement pastes and mortars. The main criterion for evaluating these composites was bulk density, flexural and compressive strength. It was also investigated mineralogical composition, microstructure, freeze–thaw resistance and sulfate resistance.
Survey, Diagnostics and Design of Reconstruction
Novotný, David ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the diagnostic investigation of block A in the object at Rumiště 8, Brno. The work includes theoretical knowledge of technical surveys and diagnostic methods and their evaluation to identify the essential characteristics of masonry and timber structures. In the practical part is the diagnostic investigation processed. Part of the diagnostic investigation is the determination of material characteristics of the structure. At the end of the thesis is an assessment of the structure.
Study of the properties of mortars with pozzolanic active materials
Vaníček, Štěpán ; Rovnaníková, Pavla (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the study of the properties of mortars and pastes with active pozzolanic materials. It deals with monitoring cementitious composites which describes both the effect of compensation pozzolanic cement mortar admixtures active based on amorphous silica and the modifying polymeric additive. The main criteria for the assessment of these modified mortars and pastes are particularly adhesive and achieved strength compared with the reference mortar. The detailed work also examined the microstructure past through images from REM, records RTG, DTA and high pressure mercury porosimetry.
Determination of masonry modulus of elasticity in the direction of bed joints
Kuchař, Martin ; Klusáček, Ladislav (referee) ; Terzijski, Ivailo (advisor)
The determination of strain properties of masonry in the direction parallel to bed joints is a fundamental pre-requisite for designing structures, where masonry is subjected to horizontal stresses (e. g. strengthening with prestressing). The diploma thesis summarized techniques of determination of masonry modulus of elasticity presented in available literature. The goal is to suggest suitable methodology of determination of masonry modulus in direction parallel to the bed joints. In the practical part of the diploma thesis is that methodology verified by experimental test and results of tests are analyzed and discussed.
