In the first chapter the generation Y is defined according to some of foreign authors' theories and then put in the context of the Czech environment. A technology background and possible influences on the behaviour of the music users of this generation is described. The second chapter describes transformation of the music industry from the late 90's till now which has been happening thanks to the new possibility to distribute various content on the Internet. I focus in particular on the peer-to-peer networks. By explaining the development of this matter I prepare a basis for a better understanding to both respondents' behaviour and their attitudes to illegal music downloads. I also touch upon the new media's role in the taste formation and the change of relationship between a performer and a music fan. The third chapter considers Internet to be the communication platform of the generation Y. It gives such a hypothesis that...

Svatý, Michal ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor) ; Švantner, Martin (referee)
The thesis focuses on problem of authorship of the Internet content. It considers the question whether we can analyze the artwork purely as a closed structure of the symbols or whether it is necessary to take work as a broader structure. The first part of the thesis shows the Internet in general and its specifics it as a medium. The second part is devoted to the problem of authorship. It explains traditional view of Nelson Goodman, who examined the authenticity of artwork with regard to the internal arrangement of the elements structure of the object. The third part shows the later theories inconsistent with the views of Nelson Goodman, views of different contemporary authors who present the changes of authorship aspects in the environment which is under constant development, quickly sharing ideas and resources. New theories suggest to look beyond the authorship of the artwork domain, apply broader focous. The conclusion provides a synthesis of these views.

The diploma thesis "Digital Marketing Strategies - Combination of Digital Media Channels" examines how the three telecom operators dominating the Czech market - T-Mobile Czech Republic, O2 Czech Republic and Vodafone Czech Republic - use the digital media channels within the communication with the customers. More specifically, it identifies and describes which channels do the companies involve into their marketing communication, how do they use them and why they have integrated them into the communication strategy. It also examines how the companies interconnect these digital media channels and how the channels can be combined to form an effective digital media strategy. By using the method of case study the companies ' digital marketing activities were examined. It was found that each company uses for its marketing communication the similar set of digital media channels, but the usage is different across the companies studied. Based on these findings I have identified three specific strategies - Diversified Content Strategy, Interactive Channel Strategy and Standardized Content Strategy. Vondráčková, Alexandra ; ŠVECOVÁ, Marta (advisor) ; KAŠPAROVSKÝ, Roman (referee)
This masters thesis titled "Hollywood mainstream marketing tools analysis: Has Hollywood marketing outrun the production itself?" aims to describe the state and issues of contemporary film marketing. It poses the question of whether the marketing behind the films is so sophisticated that it gets ahead of the movies. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the fact that this excessive attention to endless refinement of promotional materials for the film - together with the individual marketing tools - ultimately harms the impression from the movie in the eyes of its viewers. They can often feel dissatisfied or even defrauded. This hypothesis is demonstrated and disproved on the basis of specific examples and partial analysis.
Digital media and their effects on presence socially pathological phenomena on children.
PODROUŽKOVÁ, Nikola
Currently, digital media affect life of every individual. In many ways, this kind of media is taken as the support of our lives but they may encounter some risks when being used for a long time. This bachelor thesis demonstrates that digital media has a significant negative impact on individual behaviour, communication and social interactions in society. Inappropriate use of this type of media may lead to addiction, which can be compared to addiction to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The human brain when under pressure does not develop and forms no memory traces significantly it affects learning. Insomnia, depression, obesity these are all negative consequences of human organism when overusing digital media. If children have to face these issues, their development is greatly threatened - both mentally and physically. No wonder then that the social workers have to deal with attacks or other deterrent cases where a child is affected by computer game or television series. It is proven that the time spent using digital media is still growing. People are less willing to work and solve problems in the real world and seek solace in the virtual one. Major phenomenon are also social networks where people are completely losing their privacy. Especially for children who are very gullible this area of media is totally inappropriate. Because of all these issues, the teachers or social workers in social services must deal with problems related to cyberbullying or other forms of ridicule on the internet. The aim of this work is to describe digital media and their impact on occurrence of social pathological phenomena in children and to emphasize digital media as one of the very current topic the society should be speaking about especially with experts. Using these media has a huge impact on youth and therefore there are many new cases when the clients are seeking help because of their problems with addiction on digital media or because of the problems which are caused by them. In the bachelor thesis the data are collected in the form of quantitative research survey which took place in the Elementary School Sídliště Vlašim. Multivariate data from the questionnaires were processed by correspondence analysis (CCA) in program Canoco. Statistical results showed that both hypothesis were supported gender of a child is related to a certain type of activities on the internet and with increasing age also grow the time spent using the internet for fun (playing PC games) in both genders. Experts demonstrate the negative impact of excessive use of digital media. At present, we should raise awareness among users of media about the possible risks and expand preventative measures to precede the digital addiction.
