Problematics of Text Writing in Foreign Languages at Czech Secondary Schools with Specialization in Russian

The dissertation analyses how to approach teaching of writing skills in Russian language at Czech secondary schools. In the theoretical part I define what a "writing skill" is. I focus on the linguistic, psycholinguistic and didactic aspects of the teaching of writing. I explain attitudes to writing skills in different teaching methods in history and nowadays. After that I set out the requirements for testing writing skills in some of the most common documents: Common European Framework for Languages, European Language Portfolio, international exams in Russian language ТРКИ (Тест русского языка как иностранного) or TORFL (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language) and the state final exam in Russian language at Czech secondary schools. In the practical part, I first analyse selected Czech and Russian textbooks for grammar schools to compare their approach towards teaching writing skills in native languages: Czech and Russian. Then I set out analysis of Czech textbooks used in the Czech Republic for teaching Russian, focusing in particular on the exercises used to teach writing. After that, I evaluate answers from two questionnaires that I gave to secondary school graduates and teachers of Russian. Comparison of the English, Russian and Czech Vocabulary in the Field of Motorsport

This bachelor thesis deals with the English, Russian and Czech vocabulary in the field of motorsport, especially Formula 1. The theoretical part of the thesis concerns lexicology as a part of linguistic, its significance and disciplines. Then it describes the process of word formation in detail, mainly the process of borrowing. In the theoretical part there is also described the environment of Formula 1, distribution of the sport and its historical development in brief. The practical part of the thesis compares lexical units in English, Russian and Czech. Each of the chosen units contains its meaning, origin and an example of the use of the unit in a collocation. The aim of the thesis is not only to compare the vocabulary of different languages, but also to determine the measure in which English influences the Czech and Russian vocabulary in this field. Antonyms Beautiful - Ugly on phraseology of Russian and Czech languages.

This bachelor thesis is focused on phraseology of Russian and Czech languages which meanings contain antonyms beautiful - ugly. Examined are idioms describing the external appearance of humans, they are divided into different groups - beautiful, ugly, fat and slim. The second part of this thesis consists of the evaluation of our questionnaires in which we have involved Russian and Czech high school students living in the Czech Republic. Comparison of Adjectives in Russian and English Languages from a Linguodidactic Point of View

This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of adjectives in Russian and English languages from a linguodidactic point of view. The theoretical part is based on the general linguistic knowledge of this particular part of speech and explains the rules for the comparison of adjectives in both languages. Furthermore, the theoretical part also provides linguodidactic context of acquiring this grammatical phenomenon. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of pedagogical documents and textbooks used for teaching Russian and English languages. The last chapter of the thesis shows the results of a research focused on testing pupils attending secondary schools. The aim here is to prove the knowledge of comparative and superlative forms of adjectives in Russian and English languages on the basis of a written test. The Issues of Translation of Colloquial Czech into Russian (Based on the Examples of the Translation of Josef Škvorecký's Work)

v angličtině: The purpose of this thesis is the study of problems with the issue of translatability of colloquial Czech elements into the Russian language using the comparison of the novels "The Legend Of Emöke" and "The Swell Season" by Josef Švorecký and its Russian translation. The theoretical part focuses on the changing stratification of both languages with a special attention to the present stratification. The description of colloquial Czech and its current position as a Czech language variety is also included, defining the term colloquial Russian and its characteristic. Furthermore the thesis deals with the issue of equivalence, adequacy and translatability from the theoretical and practical point of view. The analysis of the originals and translated novels extracts follows. This part concentrates on the possibilities of substituting Czech colloquial features in the Russian language. Lexicon of the Old Slavic origin in the Russian language

TITLE: Words of Old Church Slavonic Origin in Contemporary Russian Language AUTHOR: Jitka Peschel DEPARTMENT: Department of Russian studies and didactics SUPERVISOR: doc. PhDr. Lilia Nazarenko, CSc. ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis researches words of Old Church Slavonic origin in contemporary Russian language. The aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of these words in the Russian language. The diploma thesis is divided into three parts. The first part describes the origin of the Old Church Slavonic language, its arrival in Russia, its influence on the Russian language, the penetration of the Old Church Slavonic words in the Russian language, as well as the development of the Russian standard language. The other two parts are dedicated to words of Old Church Slavonic origin in contemporary Russian language. The second part analyses the phonetic, morphological, semantic and stylistic aspects of these words. The third part is focused on the differences in meaning of Old Church Slavonic words having Russian equivalents and semantic processes by which words of Old Church Slavonic origin passed. Two christmas stories of Vladimir Nabokov and the possibilities of their didactic utilization

The work focuses on the teaching of foreign languages using the literary texts of "small forms" in foreign language. It discovers to which extent such texts can be used to build a lesson so that students are able to work with original texts and understand them, and moreover so that this lesson was also effective in terms of developing language skills and interdisciplinary relationships. The texts for a lesson were selected from the genre of Christmas stories (рождественских рассказов), to be exact - two short stories by Vladimir Nabokov Christmas Story (Рождественский рассказ) and Christmas (Рождество). The work is both theoretical and practical. Based on some critical analysis of texts and research of thematic literature only one of the two stories - Christmas - was chosen for the further work. The corresponding lesson plans and worksheets were created, according to which the real lessons have been held and the students' reflections taken into consideration.
The Russian-Czech interlanguage transfer issues in pursuance of professional economic language teaching in the University of Economics in Prague

An essential part of the prerequisite for studying of students and employment process of graduates of UEO is the knowledge of professional economic language. The aim of this dissertation is to contribute to the quality and efficiency of teaching the professional Czech language for foreign students in the University of Economics with a focus on Russian-speaking students. Based on theoretical studies the confirmation of dissertation hypothesis and the achievement of work objects describe and give reasons how and how much the Russian language affects the morphology and lexical linguistic aspects in the case of Russian-speaking students during the process of learning the professional Czech language. The research part of the work with the help of the questionnaire responses analysis confirms the fact that the interlanguage influence in the case of Czech professional language is very strong and is greatly manifested in both positive and negative ways. It was proved that important factors in education are: the origin of foreign students, their level of knowledge of Russian language and teachers' level of Russian language knowledge. The research part is followed by didactic recommendations and proposals of specific methodological procedures and exercises for the most consistent limiting of the negative effects of the Russian language while learning the Czech professional language at the University of Economics in Prague.
