Business process model of internal audit at a bank

This diploma thesis deals with a model of internal audit business processes at the bank. The diploma thesis is divided into three parts logically connected, which also fulfill the objectives of this thesis. The first part is theoretical, which means that is based on expressing theoretical assumptions about the studied subject. This is followed by a practical part in which the next objective is fulfilled by the proposed model of internal audit business processes using the methodology MMABP (Methodology for Modeling and Analysis of Business Processes). The thesis ends fulfilling the last objective by setting up appropriate key performance indicators (KPI).
Cloud technology in an environment of banks

Bachelor's thesis deals with public cloud technologies in the banks, especially the risks associated with the use of public cloud in banking institutions. The first part is in detail analyzing the concept of cloud computing and explaining the key characteristics of this technology. The next chapter defines the concept of a bank and there is a listing of the most important regulatory requirements in relation to outsourcing, by extension cloud computing. In the last two chapters are the threats arising from the use of public cloud services correlated with regulatory and legal requirements that banks must comply. Then there is the table of risks that every financial institution should consider when they intend to use public cloud technologies.
DMS pilot implementation in banking environment

The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of a document management system (DMS) pilot implementation in the environment of a Czech bank. The thesis is divided into three parts; the first part is theoretical and remaining two parts are practical (analytical). The theoretical part is devoted to summarization of basic theoretical knowledge in the field of DMS and in a pilot deployment of information systems. The second part describes the EMC xCP 2.1 platform and evaluates its advantages and disadvantages compared to competing products. The third part describes the technological implementation and deployment of a new DMS pilot solution in a bank. Further it analyzes and describes the follow-up activities and related projects that increase the DMS usability in a real business applications. The diploma thesis concurrently focuses on the business requirements analysis including constrains of a new solution deployment, as well as the DMS technological aspects description and the solution design. The author of this thesis has been working as an analyst in the IT company and has been in a long-term cooperation with the DMS team in the bank. The motivation for choosing this topic is to make a summary and clarification of knowledge gained on projects in the the bank and to take an advantage of it in the future cooperation.
Management of reporting in the banking sector

The diploma thesis focuses on a proposal for a methodological framework of reporting management in the banking sector and identifying key weaknesses of the current state. Using the proposed methodology precedes weaknesses and proves it on practical example from the real environment. The main benefit of this work is design of a methodological framework that allows the organized management and control of the reporting. It also brings identification of main weaknesses of the current reporting and last but not least universal template for the report specification. The work consists of three parts. The first, theoretical, defines area of reporting in a banking institution. It includes all the terminology, characteristics and types of reports. The second part, analytical, examines the current weaknesses of reporting within the defined area. Provides an overview of three to six major weaknesses in a particular phase of a new report development based on the scientific literature and practical experience of the author of this work in the banking environment. The third and final section contains a draft concept of reporting management in the banking sector with avoidance of the identified weaknesses from the analytical part.
Consumer financing

The aim of this paper is to compare the terms and conditions for consumer loans offered by banks active in the Czech Republic and to gauge which offer is the most advantageous for prospective clients. In addition to this comparison I also study the process of applying for a consumer loan by defining a process in which the client can select the bank that offers the most attractive terms. In conclusion, I evaluate whether I have succeeded in the goal of identifying the most advantageous consumer loan offer using the chosen method of comparison.
Analysis of the client's preferences on a given bank.

The subject of the thesis is to study the reasons why the GE Money Bank is not the most preferred provider of banking services from the client point of view. In the first part of the thesis, a theoretical basis will be established for the subsequent processing of practical knowledge. The second part is devoted to comparison of the GE Money bank and two other selected banks. The comparison includes areas such as bank product offers, the quality of the services offered on the Internet, Bank Branch and Customer Care Line. Subsequent findings are complemented with the results of marketing research. Finally, recommendations for GE Money Bank are set out, by implementation of those, the bank could become more preferred provider of banking services from the client point of view.
Comparison of bank and non-bank personal loans in the Czech Republic

The topic of the bachelor thesis is a Comparison of bank and non-bank personal loans in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the comparison of selected companies, both bank and non-bank entities providing personal loans in the Czech Republic. The methodological section outlines the situation before applying for the contract to signing it. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the comparison of personal loans, which is relative to specific requirements of a potential client, who is actively interested in applying for a personal loan to the certain companies. Emphasis is placed on selecting such a consumer loan, which is for a potential client the most suitable and cheapest option. At the end is foreshadowed the final comparison of selected and examined bank and non-bank companies and their loan products and set some recommendations to potential applicants for personal loans.
Web application containing the information about exchange rates on the Slovak and Czech market

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make the market analysis and to test my theorem. I work with hypothesis that people who are visiting web portals containing the information about exchange rates can use the application for finding exchange rates from multiple banks in different countries simultaneously. The users consider this application very useful and also very beneficial because of the tool what shows them which bank is more favorable to change the money - either in the home country or in the foreign one. In the thesis, the reader will find information about a draft of application for catching the exchange rates and also about its programming. There is also draft of database generated by framework Hibernate in the thesis. In the thesis is described my way of thinking during creating the PHP scripts.
Crisis of the Cypriot banking sector

The crisis of the Cypriot banking sector is consequence to the unsustainable financial system that exceeded several times the country's GDP. Compared to the GDP seven times larger financial sector, supported by lax supervision and low levels of regulation contributed to the fact that the country got into trouble and needed help. It was the first of the affected countries which needed to use its own resources to save itself. This work provides a comprehensive view to the financial crisis, its development and impact on the EU economy. It examines and analyzes the steps that EU leaders have done to mitigate the effects of the crisis . Through the analysis examines the causes of the banking crisis outbreak in Cyprus and discovers that the crisis was caused by moral hazard because banks have decided to buy risky Greek bonds . These toxic assets had to be later written off and banks lost substantial part of their liquidity. The reader is getting familiar with the development and outcome of negotiations with international creditors and also the steps taken by the Cypriot government to ensure funds for the country. In conclusion, there are given the alternative solutions to the crisis and the steps taken by the Cypriot government to prevent similar scenarios also the reader is provided by forecasts of the economic development of the country.

The goal of this thesis is to analyze company's financial statements to evaluate its overall financial situation from a bank point of view. You may find a conclusion based on the following analysis whether the company is applicable for a bank loan or not. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes tools of financial analysis. In the practical part those tools are applied on a 2009-2012 period. The main focus when applying financial ratios was on liquidity and debts indicators. A part of the thesis is also a brief analysis of significant client of the company.
