Russian position in the international trade and its influence on real economy
Abdullin, Denis ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
International trade and competitiveness of domestic producers on the international market are very important factors for a further economic development. Country's trade structure determines its resistance to external shocks, which threaten domestic economy. Diversification gains a lot in importance lately. The existence of more industries, which are able to withstand tough competition with foreign firms is a cornerstone of economic development. Diversification is a key determinant for Russian economy due to a greater dependency on the export of raw materials, especially crude oil. These macroeconomic links can be shown by different econometric tools. Problems with excessive dependency on oil export can be detected by means of empiric analysis.
Do oil prices affect inflation?
Novotný, Lukáš ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
Goal of bachelor thesis is exploration of relationship between development of oil price and inflation in United States of America, Federal Republic of Germany and Japan. Theoretical part is focused on previous research, development of oil price and analysis of prices of oil. My research has been conducted with help of regression and correlation analysis in three time periods in years 1970-1983, 1984-1999, 2000-2014 and is based on quarterly data. Based on development of selected macroeconomic variables is investigated hypothesis that there is small positive correlation between oil price and inflation. This correlation should be strongest in the 80s of last century, than it should be minimalized till turn of millennium, when it should be stronger again. Result of my work verifies the hypothesis about small positive correlation. However development of this correlation was different than I presumed.
Vztah ceny ropy a ceny benzínu
Pačovský, Jan
The thesis deals with an identification of the mutual causal relationship between the crude oil price and the gasoline price both on the commodity exchange and in the chosen countries. The DCCA method was used to quantify this relationship. The testing period was since August 2006 to March 2015 in weekly intervals. The results have proved the mutual correlation between the prices of both commodities.

Estimation of price elasticity of crude oil demand
Jonák, Ondřej ; Zajíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Tříska, Dušan (referee)
Objective of this diploma thesis is estimation of price elasticity of crude oil demand. In order to calculation of such elasticity crude oil demand is estimated with econometrical methods. The choice of suitable model, which sufficiently and accurately models crude oil demand, is initial position of analysis. Consequently, crude oil demand is estimated from market data obtainable from public sources. This estimated model is verified from economic, statistic and econometric point of view. Consequently, price elasticity of crude oil demand is calculated from such model.
