Center for seniors in Brno-Medlánky
Čermák, Martin ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma project was to design a center for seniors in Brno - Medlánky. The project of the center for seniors follows on from the pre-diploma project, the aim of which was to design an urban structure on an unused plot of land between the technology park and Medlánky. The territory is defined by area development on the south, west and east sides. Part of the territorial study was also a proposal to extend tram line No. 12 towards the area under consideration. The location of the center for seniors follows from the developed territorial study, which is attached to this diploma project. The main motive for the creation of the center for seniors was to arrange the objects in such a way that they create a "safe embrace" that will provide the residents with a sense of security. The main building is thus L-shaped with rooms facing the quiet courtyard towards the amphitheater. In the event of a social event, guests can watch the program from their balconies or windows. The remaining rooms face the street. The ground floor of the building is partially embedded in the terrain and thanks to this it naturally connects to the amphitheater. I try to create pleasant, well-lit spaces in the house, so that there is always a good atmosphere and the guests can accept this place as their new home. The capacity of the center for seniors results from the elaborated analyzes attached in this project. The home for the elderly was supposed to include all the necessary operations, such as a central dining room, library, gymnasium, space for doctors, management offices, staff changing rooms, a central laundry room and other necessary technological facilities.
Apartment building
Vavrdová, Radka ; Jelínek, Petr (referee) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The task of the bachelor thesis was to solve the project documentation for an apartment building designed in the village of Medlov. The land intended for construction is flat, rectangular in shape with no existing construction. The apartment building consists of two above-ground floors, a partially underground basement and a single-skin flat roof. We can find four residential units here. Two on the ground floor, which include smaller gardens separated by a fence, and two on the first floor, which have spacious loggias. The apartment building is based on perimeter strips. The perimeter walls in the above-ground part are made of ceramic blocks supplemented with stone wool thermal insulation, and the perimeter walls that are in contact with the ground are made of lost formwork and insulation suitable for this environment. The horizontal load-bearing structures are made of prestressed ceiling panels, and in the stairwell, they are made of reinforced concrete. The apartment building is covered with a single-layer flat roof. The apartment building's doors are designed as aluminum and window openings made of plastic and insulating triple glass.

Smolka, Ondřej ; Utíkalová, Ivana (referee) ; Dohnal, Jakub (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the project documentation for the construction of a residential building located in the city district of Brno - Lesná at the intersection of Nejedlého and Seifertova streets. It is a building for housing with one underground floor and eight above-ground floors with the last floor stepped to create a terrace. The basement is used as a collective garage including technical rooms primarily for the ventilation of the garage. On the first floor there are technical facilities and a second bulk garage. In the remaining seven floors there are residential units of sizes 1 bedroom and 3 bedroom. The building has two reinforced concrete monolithic cores, where each of them has a staircase and two lifts. The structural system of the building is designed as a reinforced concrete monolithic skeleton with load-bearing columns and ceiling slabs without penetrations. The building is based on 900 mm diameter piles, a watertight reinforced concrete white bath and a foundation slab. Primarily acoustic brick blocks are used for the infill non-loadbearing masonry perimeter and interior walls. The roofs of the building are designed to be flat, the main roof over the top floor is with a PVC sheeting and the roof over the first floor of the stepped storey is with a ductile sheeting. The content and design of the proposed work also provides for a planned dilated adjacent residential building that shares a basement with the main building, has four floors above ground and is situated perpendicular to the residential building under consideration.
Detached house in Horní Stakory
Hornychová, Anna ; Melcr, Petr (referee) ; Fišarová, Zuzana (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design a nearly zero-energy detached house. It is located in Horní Stakory near Mladá Boleslav. The project is divided into two parts. The first part is the documentation for the construction of the building. The second part focuses on the internal environment of the house especially the heating system. It is a two-storey L-shaped building with an attached garage with a flat roof. The main part of the building has a gable roof. The first floor of the building is designed as a living area – living room, study or guest room, bathroom, utility room. The second floor is designed as private – bedrooms, bathroom and WC. The building is based on concrete foundation strips. The vertical structures are masonry made of sand-lime bricks. The building is insulated with the ETICS. Horizontal load-bearing structures are made of reinforced concrete. Heat losses through ventilation are eliminated using a mechanical ventilation unit with heat recovery. The heat pump will heat the supplied air and provide water heating for the underfloor heating. The main building will be heated by underfloor heating supplemented by electric towel heaters and occasionally by an electric heater in a non-heated garage. Solar panels will heat the hot domestic water. Electrical energy will be supplied from photovoltaic panels located above the garage and from the grid. Rainwater will be accumulated in a storage tank and used further for watering. The excess rainwater will be soaked up.

Center for seniors in Brno-Medlánky
Otépka, Petr ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor)
The architectural study for the elderly home follows on the urban-architectural study conducted in the previous semester as a part of the NGA056 – Specialised Studio course. The study resulted in a compact urban development with mix of functions. It includes not only housing, commerce, public buildings, the church, the sport hall and transport facilities, but also a block of centre for elderly. The architectural study is focused on creating a complex centre with good supply of services, amenities, privacy and, most importantly, quality spaces. The design is based on the concept of compactness. All pavilions which are full of spatial and operational requirements form a block and inner courtyard. The inner courtyard is situated above the underground parking, and it is adjacent to a park, connected to it by a ‘neck’. The park opens to the southwest and its borders are defined by the centre on the east and apartment building for elderly on north side. On the side which faces the centre of the new district, the block turns on its ground floor, accommodating a café, entrances and other services. It facilitates connection with the community, together with park on the opposite side. The proposal presents a contemporary perspective on housing for the elderly in our society. The spaces try to have their own identity, with which residents or clients can identify and accept a room or apartment as their home, rather than just a final stop on their life’s journey.

The main topic of this bachelor’s thesis is the development of a construction project at the level of construction documentation for a family house in accordance with applicable legislation. The objective of the thesis is to design and describe the proposed layout of the building, appropriately choose the construction system and materials, address the site's integration into the terrain considering the current state of the plot, and respect the surrounding development. The basis for the work was the municipality’s zoning plan, the real estate cadastre, and a geological map. The new building will be located on a flat plot in a quiet and new part of the village of Městec Králové. The proposed family house is a two-story structure without a basement, designed for the living needs of four people. The project focuses on creating a functional home with optimal use of space and separation of different zones. The construction system is wall-based. The exterior walls are made of ceramic blocks with external contact insulation. The roof of the second floor is designed as a flat green roof with an attic. On the first floor, there is a communication and social zone, which includes the living room, dining area, kitchen corner, and a business area featuring a pedicure salon. The second floor comprises a separate quiet zone with children's rooms and a bedroom, along with a storage room and a study. Both floors have a bathroom with a toilet, with the bedroom having an en-suite bathroom with a toilet.
