Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno
Bělehradová, Věra ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
Sport Airport complex Brno-Medlánky is nestled in the undulating hilly terrain in fields just beyond populated areas in Brno-Medlánky. The history of the airport dates back to 1924 when it was built the first wooden hangar for training purposes glider flights. Current state urban of airport is orderless. The aim is to streamline the complex and give it the order, allowing easy and efficient orientation in the space. The main intervention was the creation of a new central building - Aviation Museum. The concept of the design is based on the division of the whole area into two branches - communication axes, based on the mass preserved historic wooden hangars. Between the two communication arms is inserted a central axis on which is located the heart of the complex - Aviation Museum. It is a building organic form, inspiring axially symmetric wingspan (bird, airplane, beetle). It is this symmetry axis of the building creates a view towards building on the runway. Mass of the building used by the sloping terrain and is partially sunk under the ground. Building volume follows an upward slope from the outside and blends with the surrounding terrain. The internal layout consists of three floors, one of them is completely sunk below ground level and second half. The main entrance to the gallery is located in the uppermost floors, the direction of the exhibition is therefore directed downwards into the basement. The exposition is divided into six parts: RC models exposure, gliders exposure, powered aircraft exposure, screening room, children's exposure and air trainers. Other areas consist of building technical facilities. In the basement there is a workshop with aircraft lift, with the possibility of placement unexposed aircrafts. The supporting system of the building consists of two parts: reinforced concrete tubs and arched steel structure with a span of 50m.
Multicast routing
Hlavatý, Ondřej ; Mareš, Martin (advisor) ; Knop, Dušan (referee)
We implement multicast routing in the BIRD routing daemon. At first, we review basic principles of IP multicast and different modes of the PIM multicast routing protocol. Then we outline the architecture of the BIRD and discuss its aspects related to our goal. We present our solution based on adding IGMP, bidi- rectional PIM, and kernel interface as three separate BIRD protocols. Finally, we describe our framework for testing network software in complex virtual networks.
Bird mortality at transparent barriers
Houdová, Monika ; Reif, Jiří (advisor) ; Koleček, Jaroslav (referee)
Bird mortality at transparent barriers (noise barriers or common house windows) is undoubtedly very important environmental issue, because of the rapid development of human society and even more rapid growth of very dangerous places for birds. At this time there is no review article yet, that would synthesize each sub-study on the extent to which individuals can die on those obstacles, which factors are critical for the ability of obstacle avoiding, how much collision threaten the vitality of bird populations and if we can prevent such unintended damage. This bachelor thesis handle with these questions as a literary review. From the available information we can suggests that the most important factor is migration behavior of birds, individuals migrating through the night are much more at risk than those migrating during the day, mostly because of light pollution, which can confuse them. The most dangerous time of year in this direction is clearly autumn, and that also relates with migration. Population losses caused by collision to the transparent barriers can be up to 20 % of the total population per year. Thesis in addition to a summary of available information on the issue proposes and evaluates possible preventive aplications, which may further serve to effective conservation for birds among...
Birds in teaching at secondary schools with new knowledge in the field
Weiser, Jiří ; Řezníček, Jan (advisor) ; Kopřivová, Kateřina (referee)
In the introduction of theoretical part of diploma thesis is tabularly summed up the systém of birds classification. Other parts are focused not only on general issues and commonly used themes in school textbooks, popular literature and educational media, but also to highlight specific features, characteristic only for the birds. These themes are historical and evolutional questions, cover morphology, the effect of the senses, body structury and function of organs. In detail is analyzed the issue of body composition and skeletal system of birds. In the final sections are mentioned specialities in the behavior and communication between birds and their habits. The practical part includes a SWOT analysis of available textbooks for the four-year gymnasium with regard to the chapters and information about the animal class of birds. The data analyzed in the textbook can only be considered as basic with need to extend and complement by the teacher. Attached to the diploma thesis are two presentations in Powerpoint, containing basic information and specific features, characteristic only for birds. The presentations are created worksheets. For reference classes was developed as a lab practical examination of selected thematic blocks, memorized theoretical interpretation. Students' knowledge of the...

Birds in the phraseological similes. Contribution to the study of the linguistic picture of the world in Czech
Šťastná, Lucie ; Vaňková, Irena (advisor) ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is a contribution to the study of the linguistic picture of the world in Czech. The first chapter of the thesis describes the formal semantic structure of the phraseological simile and further discusses the simile's position within the linguistic picture of the world. Moreover, the chapter defines the thematic group of zoonyms (names of animals) in relation to similes. The second chapter presents the linguistic picture of the prototype of a bird, and the next one focuses on specific bird species. The thesis not only reconstructs particular linguistic pictures, but also, most importantly, links them with phraseology - primarily with lexicalized similes. These set phrases relate to the bird itself (its body, behaviour and character) as well as to various significant aspects of its life (e.g. its nest or eggs).
"Everything's light and everything's upwards, the dance of elephants being uppermost". The metaphors of the movement in poetry of the poet Vladimir Holan.
Hudcová, Zuzana ; Heczková, Libuše (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to deal with a writings of Vladimir Holan as a thematic unity, where the motifs are transformed. The metamorphosis depend on a time, when they have been written in. Our used method of his writings is in a chronological order. This thesis is focused on the motif of a movement and his metamorphosis in poetry of Vladimir Holan. The aim is to penetrate the problems of the movement as a physical activity and approached the movement as a confirmation of existence on a basis of Patočka's phenomenological phylosophy. Other chapters pay attention to analysis of motifs of movement, which are recognizable in Holan's poetry. Their feature change from lightness and freedom to heaviness and limitation. Afterwards the point of this work reaches the axis: a wind - a wave - a water flowed - a bird - a cloud - a stone - a snake - a wall. Due to the better understanding of Holan's work, we make a passing comment about the motifs which are connected with notised above. These connections will able to put our thoughts about Holan's conception in order.
Drinking place for bird
PECHOVÁ, Michaela
I follow up a large topic in the thesis: a bird. A bird that is living in wildlife. A bird that is appearing in the Protected Area of Třeboňsko. A bird, as a fiery Fénix. A bird that is appearing in a picture of Vincent van Gogh. I have tried to explain historical perceiving of birds in the beginning of the thesis. I have concentrated on birds in general in a second half of the thesis, I have described what kinds of birds return to the Czech Republic after winter and which ones spend winter here. Because my drinking place for birds is placed to our garden that is in the Protected Area of Třeboňsko I have concentrated on other characteristic of this area and of garden biotope. Then I have solved important conditions that the ideal drinking place for birds must meet. In the other half of the thesis, I have devoted to mythic animals inspired by birds and art where birds are holders of a hidden symbol. After that I have made a drinking place for birds from ceramic that is corresponding with all important conditions and I have placed it to exterior. I have chosen our garden.
