7 Abstract The title of the thesis: Crime of murder and manslaughter under section 140, 141 of the criminal code Abstract: This thesis focuses on the most serious crimes against human life, namely the crimes of murder and manslaughter under sections 140 and 141 of Act No. 40/2009 Coll., The Criminal Code. The aim of this work is to describe both of these crimes in detail, to explain the importance of punishing these crimes, to explain the reason for introducing the crime of manslaughter in our legal system, its significance, and how it differs from murder and makes it a privileged crime to the crime of murder. Račáková, Vladimíra ; Musil, Jan (advisor) ; Dvořák, Marek (referee)
RESUMÉ Homicide investigation methodology is certain set of instruction or aid for guiding investigators progress, but it does not mean that if the methodology is followed, there is a sure result in capture of perpetrator. It depends on every specific act performed by the investigator. Correct way of search of crime scene/corps, interrogation, expertise, apartment inspections, recognition, reconstruction and others are already dependent on human activities and their quality depends on those activities. Certain rules or limits provides law that determine all the formalities which must be completed for potential enforcement in court against offender. The first important task is to search the crime scene and the corpse, which must be thorough, because it is important to secure all traces that may be on the crime scene. It is decisive to properly ensure traces to prevent deterioration or destruction of found material and especially biological traces, where a DNA sample or other important fibers of significant probative value are found. Interrogation is an act where it is best to see that methodology is only a guide, but how good it will be depending on investigator (his preparedness and experiences) who performs it and also on the willingness of an interviewee to cooperate. Good planning and organization of...

Šatná, Barbora ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "The Death of Jan Masaryk" in the periodical press deals with how selected media reported on the person and death of Jan Masaryk in the period from February 25 to March 31, 1948. Specifically, these are the dailies Rudé právo and Svobodné noviny (known as Lidové noviny) . But first, he deals with the person and important events in the life of Jan Masaryk. Subsequently, it presents a brief history of both dailies. He then deals with the analysis of articles in both periodicals. The researched texts could be divided into two periods: first, before Masaryk's death and the second, the days after his death. In the first period, the dailies did not pay much attention to Jan Masaryk. They rarely wrote about him, mostly in connection with forming a new government, of which he became a member. In the second period, the number of texts mentioning his name grew significantly. The most common topic was Masaryk's funeral, first its organization, then its course and Masaryk's interview for the French daily L'ordre, from which both dailies quoted very often. At that time, it was a turning point in Czechoslovakia when non-communist ministers resigned, and Klement Gottwald began to form a government in which the Communists prevailed. At that time, the Communists also controlled print media...
Methods of investigation of murders (selected issues)
Polívková, Lucie ; Štourač, Petr (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
in English The topic of the thesis is the " The Methodology of Investigation of Murders (selected issues)". The topic is too broad for the limited capacity of the dissertation. While writing the thesis, after the necessary theoretical introduction (which contains the definition of crimes against life, medical definition of death, etc.), I focused only on the initial stage of the investigation of the crime of murder. I specifically focused on the discovery of the body, on securing the crime scene, on autopsy and on the demarcation of investigative versions. Next stage of the investigation is only briefly summarized in the ninth chapter. The thesis is divided into ten chapters. The first chapter explains basic terms, especially murder, murder of a newborn baby by its mother and other crimes against life, such as manslaughter, negligent homicide and assistance to suicide. This chapter also includes medical definition of death, and a brief description of the post-mortem changes. The second chapter consists of brief statistics on the number of murders in the Czech Republic between the periods 2000 to 2012. It contains two graphs; the first graph shows the evolution of the total number of murders each year and their solving. The second graph divides murders according to the specific motives. The third...
Crimes of murder and manslaughter under sections 140 and 141 of the Czech criminal code
Honzík, Jakub ; Hořák, Jaromír (advisor) ; Krupička, Jiří (referee)
(ENG) Crimes of murder and manslaughter under sections 140 and 141 of the Czech criminal code The main objective of this work is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the codification of crimes of murder and manslaughter. The last recodification from the year of 2009 brought some significant changes into the area of intentional killings, the most important of which is an increased differentiation in the typology of these crimes. The Czech criminal code now differentiates between murder, premeditated murder and manslaughter. These changes can be seen as part of an effort by the Czech legislature to modernize the criminal law along the lines of legal systems typical in Western Europe. On the other hand, it can also be argued that the new Czech codification preserves its unique approach to certain problems. This thesis analyzes individual parts of sections of the Czech criminal code concerned with murder and manslaughter in a systematic manner. The first chapter deals with the historical context of intentional killings as well as providing an analysis of the new arrangement. Chapter two follows by introducing features common along all three types of intentional killings, specifically the actus reus of the crime. The following chapters then describe the different approaches towards intentional...

The theme of the death in Bohumil Kubista's work in the years 1912-1918
Richterová, Helena ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Wittlich, Petr (referee)
The topic of this study are the paintings on the death theme in the meridian works of Bohumil Kubišta around the time of the first World War. This dilemma has not been elaborated on in any previous publication. The task focuses on individual paintings complemented by relevant sub-chapters as the painter's life was full of major circumstances influencing his work. Though the main focus is on Kubišta's production from the period between 1912 and 1918, the painting Resurrection of Lazarus (1911) was appended. This painting concludes Kubišta's classicist period, and becomes an important milestone in the painter's understanding of death which is still illuminated by the interpretation of old masters. St. Sebastian (1912) opens the dilemma in pursuit of self-stylization and response to the contemporary events. The other mentioned paintings, which are always depicting two figures aiming to detach us from reality, violently gripping the soul - Kiss of Death, Murder, Hypnotist (1912). The artist is portraying the relationship of the actor with his victim. Apart from figurative paintings, the theme of vanitas appears, for example in Still Life with Skull (1912). The enumeration of paintings is concluded by portrayals of military operations Fakir (1914), Hanged (1915).
