Social environment and polarisation within suburb: case study Jesenice u Prahy

5 ABSTRACT Suburbanization is the process of moving residents from the core city to the outskirts. Newly-migrants from the city often carry different views and lifestyles than the original inhabitants of the village, which may be the cause of social polarisation. The general aim of the thesis is to evaluate the development of the social environment, to describe and explain the consequences of suburbanization on social polarisation in the Prague city region on the example of Jesenice u Prahy. Within the general objective, the thesis sets two partial objectives: Describe the demographic development of the population, the development of housing construction and the age structure in Jesenice. Compare the results of the social climate from Petra Puldová's thesis (2006), describe how the social climate has changed over the past 13 years. The questionnaire survey is used to fulfill both the general and the second partial objective. The questionnaire is used to find out if the respondents have mutual relations with the original and new inhabitants, how satisfied they are with the life in the municipality, social cohesion, how they participate in social and political life. This diploma work deals with social climate measuring within secondary school teaching staff and interpersonal relationship impact on training and education process in school environment. The theoretical part involves terms related to teaching staff climate and explores various forms of interpersonal relationship in school environment. The practical part investigates a particular teaching staff at a particular vocational school. The outcome analysis is compared to standardised specifications composed by KUS questionnaire schedule authors. This has been utilised to implement teaching staff diagnosis in this work. The results are provided in form of charts and graphs with a detailed description.

Residential suburbanization in Kladno district: change of social environment

Since the second half of the 1990s a residential suburbanization process has occurred in the Czechia. Within the process residents move from cities to municipalities that are located in their outskirts. The general aim of the thesis is to evaluate the social environment in Kladno district which is change just as a consequence of the residential suburbanization process. Within the general aim, the thesis sets out three partial objectives: To characterize the process of residential suburbanization in Kladno district, to evaluate changes in the socio- spatial structure of Kladno district with the main focus on the suburban municipalities, and to evaluate the social environment in the selected suburban municipality in Kladno district. There are quantitative methods used in the work. To accomplish the first and second partial objectives is used the analysis of statistical data from Czech Statistical Office. To accomplish the third partial objective is used a questionnaire survey, which investigate how respondents interact with native and new residents and how they engage in social and political life in Buštěhrad. Basic therapy in the direct care of gerontological client

The thesis "Basic Therapy in the Direct Care of Gerontological Client" was focused on the description of basic therapies in the direct care of gerontological client with the aim to describe, analyze, and suggest the most optimal approaches in social care that can be realized within basic types of therapy. The text of the work was divided into four chapters which present expert opinions of various authors. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the description of the preferred therapy, the second chapter analyzes the social - health aspects of the old age, and the third chapter gives the insight into the representation of the basic legislation in the care of the seniors. Principal fourth chapter interprets data obtained by qualitative survey that was realized with the help of the cooperation of several methodological procedures, available interviews, the observation in the particular institutional facility implementing a mixed group of six elderly people, who in the course of approximately one year were involved to assemble the case studies and take part in different types of therapies and activities. Interpersonal relationships in school communities

The aim of this work is to gather relevant information about interpersonal relationships in the teaching staff of selected secondary schools and to show how they are perceived, understood, experienced and reflected by their participants. The result of this work is to propose principles and recommendations leading to the optimization of relationships between teachers. This work, in the terms of qualitative research, used the design of case study. Research techniques are semistructured interview and participant observation. Through them, information was gathered on relationships between teachers, teachers and school management and teachers and other people, with whom they come into contact within the scope of their profession. These relationships were then qualitatively analyzed based on open coding, categorization, typology, contrasting, generalization and validation of communication. The result of the investigation was that six schools out of four have the interpersonal relationships on a good level, educators are happy at work and their good mood and feelings are transmitted to the whole school climate. Social environment of transforming Karlín

The main objektive of my thesis is a knowledge of social environment of prague district Karlín, one of the most dynamic part of inner Prague, which is undergoing a transformation of a physical, funcional and social structure. The concept of social environment is used in this work, whereby the social environment is consisted of a social structure and a social climate of a locality. By an analyse of the social, physical and funcional structure and a research of daily rhythms it tries to identify main pacemakers, to deeply learn about proceses and key moments during the day, which structurated the locality, and to capture social groups of users of the locality. The research is focused on three selected basic administrative units: 'Karlín - západ', 'Rohanský ostrov' and 'Za Invalidovnou'. Each of these localities has its own daily rhythm, which is structurated by the resident population and the temporarily present population,and different social environments, which influence each other, are dependent on each other and create the whole character of the prague district Karlín.The work tries to deepen and criticaly evaluate a current metodology. The Influence of Suburbanization on the Demographic and Social Structure and Social Climate in Suburbs of Mladá Boleslav

The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the social structure of the population and social climate in suburbs Mlada Boleslav. In relation to immigration around the city there are changes of population size and population structure of municipalities, which is related to an increase in the differences among local residents. This is due to differentiation in terms of social status, traditions, behaviour and age. In this work are evaluated primarily the impacts of these differences on the relationship between the local population and people who moved recently. The paper is trying to figure out the level of involvement of newcomers in the running community and define problems and types of cooperation among these groups. I assume that it will be some variations between municipalities, but generally it will have similar problems and positives which were found in studies in suburbs of Prague. The theoretical part deals with details of primary prevention, history of prevention in the Czech Republic and forms of prevention. The principles of effective primary prevention and evaluation of prevention programs are also mentioned. The second chapter is focused on class atmosphere. It defines important terms and factors having influence on class atmosphere. Attention is also paid to climate diagnostics and possibilities of influencing climate, one of which are programs of primary prevention. The empiric part presents the Project of primary prevention realised by the Christian pedagogical- psychological counseling centre. It summarizes the results of the research on the prevention programs effectivity, which was organized by this pedagogical-psychological counseling centre in 2008.
