Homosexuality and parenthood

This thesis analyzes Czech legislation regulating relationships of same-sex couples and their options regarding family founding provided by Czech legal regulation. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate current Czech legislation and put it into international context. To attain this aim, this thesis uses three different approaches. Firstly it provides conclusions of conterporary social sciences in the field of parenthood of same-sex couples and impacts of homosexual parenting onto various areas of psychological and social adjustment od children. Secondly, the comparative study of czech legislation and legislations of Norway, United Kingdom, Germany and Slovakia is included. Thirdly, relevant cases decided by European Court of Human Rights are analyzed. Upon the findings provided by these analysis, the thesis evaluate suitability of czech legal regulation and propose possible future development in this area.
Attitude of secondary school students in selected region topeople with different sexual orientation

This work explores how students of two schools, Bishop Grammar School and a vocational school, see people who have a sexual orientation that is different from theirs. The first part is concerned with explaining some basic terms, such as sexuality, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Furthermore, it looks at homosexuality in general as well as homosexuality in young adults. The first part offers an overview of how homosexuality was perceived in the past. This work also looks at this in terms of legislation. Then it looks at the current times and how the public sees the issue of homosexuality and same-sex parenting. The practical part of this work surveys the students' knowledge about this issue. The questionnaire consists of 19 questions. Each of these is designed to make it easy to sort them out based on type of school, gender, and religion. Taking these categories into consideration, this work analyses how students perceive homosexuality. The result of this analysis is an overview of the students' toleration level towards homosexuality, their knowledge of this issue, and their information sources about this issue. Czech public opinion on the rights of homosexuals – May 2019

In May 2019, CVVM included a block of questions related to tolerance of Czech society towards homosexual oriented men and women into its regular survey Our Society. At the same time, there were questions focused on the attitudes of citizens whether homosexual people should have certain rights: right to enter into a registered partnership, to marry, to adopt children from "institutions" - so-called children's homes, and to adopt the children of their partner. The highest support has gained the right to enter into a registered partnership – 75 % of respondents stated that homosexuals should have this right. We also asked whether respondents have some homosexual people among their friends or acquaintances. According to our research, 39 % of Czech citizens have homosexual friends. On the other hand, 50 % of respondents said they have none.
Entrusting the care of child to homosexuals

This diploma work deals with homosexually oriented persons that want to establish a family or that already have a child and raise it up. It concerns to biological parentage or "only" psychological parentage or a relationship with same-sex partner or an individual care for a child. The work specifies basic terms and contains a short overview of homosexuality in view of history, religion and medicine. The work learns the reader in history and legislation differences of the registered partnership and matrimony. It also marginally deals with possibilities and rights of homosexual persons in the world. The work also includes opinion on family, its functions and types. It describes today's possibilities of homosexuals' ways to a child. The work also focuses on issue of rising up a child by homosexuals. To clarify links, it describes here gay and lesbian relations and families, including development of a child being raised up in a non-traditional family. Aim of the work is to document subjective opinions of the homosexuals themselves to the issue of rising up children by persons with such an orientation, to find out how they evaluate attitude of the society to this topic and how these persons are interested in LGBT situation. Views of pupils and students from a selected secondary school and a university on homosexuality, registered partnership and children adoption

The aim of this bachelor essay named "Views of pupils and students from a selected secondary school and a university on homosexuality, registered partnership and children adoption" is to discover how young people perceive this question. Introduction contains the author's reasoning why she has chosen this topic. The essay is then divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the author deals with human sexuality as a whole, explains the grounds of homosexuality and its sources, introduces the history of homosexuality and defines terms related to it, for example "coming out". Further in this section, there is an analysis of registered partnership, its beginning and cessation, rights and obligations of partners, history of adoption of the law on registered partnership in the Czech Republic and possibilities for homosexual person parenting. In the practical part of this essay the author presents a quantitative research carried out through a questionnaire survey aimed at pupils and students of one selected secondary school and one university. Registered partnership - actual situation in Europe Abstract This thesis deals with the registered partnership and cohabitation of two persons of the same sex in the same-sex marriage. The thesis deals not only with the Czech legal system, but also with other european countries. The aim of the thesis is to compare the individual legal regulations and to review the actual tendencies of the european states in this respect. The text focuses mainly on the current situation in individual countries, the facts as concerning the establishment and termination of registered partnerships and partners' property relations are described. The subject of homoparentality and the possibility of adopting homosexual children is also discussed. The thesis is divided into 6 chapters, which gradually describe sub-areas related to this civil law institut. The first chapter defines the basic concepts and briefly describes the historical development of homosexual perceptions and the view of homosexuality. The next chapter describes the gradual legalization of a registered partnership in Europe, focusing on legislative processes in the Czech Republic.
