The Sophists as seen by Plato and Aristotle, and their reappraisal by Hegel
Dovhoruk, Ivanna ; Thein, Karel (advisor) ; Jinek, Jakub (referee)
This work is an inquiry of the original traces of negative and positive criticism of the sophists. Through the interpretation of the relevant passages in selected works of Plato, Aristotle and Hegel we will try to seize the main reasons that have led these thinkers to the rejection of sophistry, or for its appreciation. Thence, there will not be taken into account the Sophists as a philosophical phenomenon, but what Plato, Aristotle and Hegel say about them. At the same time we give up all criticism and evaluation, because we do not want to seek advantages and disadvantages of these opinions; we just want to know what they are. The first chapter includes four interpretations of Plato's dialogues Protagoras, Gorgias, Sophist and Euthydemus. In the second chapter we will try through the Aristotle's reading of the first fifteen chapters of his writings Sophistical Refutations seize the reasons for his adverse assessment of the Sophists. The third chapter examines Hegel's appreciation of sophistry, which results from his conception of the history of philosophy as a necessary process of evolution in his Lectures on the History of Philosophy. In the conclusion the results of inquiry and overall summary will be presented.

In Space
Blatná, Hana ; Vítková, Lenka (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is a series of fourteen drawings created exclusively using graphite. The drawings reflect a subjective view of the universe, inspired by archaic interpretations of planets and universe solids, conspiracy theories, black and white images of textures, surfaces, rocks and meteorites captured by modern technology. The drawings are an attempt to express hidden inner motives, personal mythology, the energy of the landscape, the relationship to nature. The paper is a parallel to the sky, a projection surface on which dreamy cosmic landscapes penetrate in imprints, geometric shapes and using perspective.

Zuzana Urbanová The Function of Direct Forms of Presentation in the Generic Structure of Newspaper Reports Abstract The thesis deals with the employment of direct forms of presentation in the genre of hard news. The texts for the analysis were excerpted from the main British broadsheet newspapers. The classification of forms of presentation is based on Semino and Short (2004) and focuses on their deictic and syntactic properties, interpreted in terms of the pragmatic concepts of perspective, faithfulness claims and the role of the reported and reporting speaker. Attention is paid to various direct forms, including direct speech, free direct speech and combined forms, i.e. non-direct forms appearing with a partial direct quote. The thesis draws heavily on the work by White (1998), whose approach to genre is informed by the ideas proposed by the Sydney School and Systemic Functional Linguistics. Hard news is characterised by the orbital generic structure, consisting of the nucleus and a number of specifying satellites (White 1998). The occurrence of direct and combined forms of presentation is explained by their deictic, syntactic and pragmatic properties, the generic role and characteristic features of the nucleus and individual satellites, and the overall function of hard news. The function of hard news and...
Hranice – redefinition of urban structure
Uherková, Ivona ; Ryšavá, Hana (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The diploma thesis Park and Ride deals with the design of a car park in the town of Hranice, which is known mainly for its important transport train node and Hranice Abyss. The city now suffers from the high intensity of car traffic in the city center due to insufficient street network. This network is disrupted by a four-lane road that was built in the 1980s and cut natural transport links. The abolition of the four-lane road, which is now lacking in transport services, releases a large amount of development area, which is primarily used as an agri-recreational area. Part of this green belt is the parking house, which prevents the entry of surplus cars into the city center. The parking house is a new transport hub of the city, which also includes elements of alternative transport - transfer to public transport or bicycle, which makes it possible to create a city center pleasant for pedestrians.

Title: Geometric Constructions of Linear Perspective and its Application in Practice Author: Bc. Iva Pecinová Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Petra Surynková, Ph.D., Department of Mathematics Education Abstract: The content of the diploma thesis is primarily one-point and two-point perspective. The aim is to familiarize the reader with the basic constructions of the linear perspective. Another part was a plan of project days, testing it in practice and using the theory described in the thesis. During the project days, I received filled in questionnaires from my students in which I tested spatial imagination, knowledge of optical illusions and basic principles of a linear perspective. The results of the questionnaires are presented at the end of the thesis. I also created a set of my own original and solved exercises, and I present here instructions on how to create perspective optical illusions - on the enclosed DVD is a template to build the Ames room. The reader will also get acquainted with a brief history of imaging in a linear perspective. Part of the thesis is also a chapter about application of the principles of linear perspective in art lessons at primary and secondary schools.
