Unconscious Inspiration

The meaning of this work is the explanation of a particular life expression, which is presented by moment of now, that inside itself encapsulates cause and consequence.
The focus of this work is to define the influences which have effects during artistic creation which is a compilation of physiologic and psychological phenomenons of a particular person.
For this purpose I reflected on my activity to date as an artist, secondly I looked up and read relevant literature and met with people, who willingly helped me with this work.
The finding of my continuous and retrospective cognition is that artistic creation is closely related to life experiences, individual perception and subjective benefits and experiences.
Therefore, a person can set out his lifelong goal of whom he wants to be and what he would like to achieve. He would know almost automatically, what he should do in accordance with his deep-rooted and previously tested abilities and thus he would behave as such at a present moment.
It is desirable to pursue one´s chosen vocational skills, preferably most of one´s free time to ensure one´s professional growth in a particular field. However, it is necessary to pay attention to one´s personal life, which can have the deciding impact on the final consequence.

Pollock and Jung

To be able to demonstrate Jung's symbolic archetypes of the collective unconscious, I have taken as an example the relation between Jackson Pollock and the analytical psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. At the beginning I have aimed to describe the wider context, the meaning of the unconscious, and key psychological aspects that are necessary to be understood for being able to interpret some of Pollock's early works. At my thesis, I am not talking only about psychotherapy, which he attend for the first time in 1938, but also about his deeper interest of Jungian concepts and archetypes were expressed in his paintings. Since 1941 is obvious that his work contains more elements of imagination. Base on Jung's principles, his work is also more focused on myths and cultures of early civilizations - Assyrian, Egyptian, Mayan and early Colombian art. This impact of unconscious symbolism was also caused by John Graham's theories, and by "Modern Man literatue" of Joseph Campbell or Harvey Fergusson. At the end of my thesis, I am looking for ways of implications of Pollock's experiences within psychoanalysis on visual style of his work. Approaches to Dream Reality and Content of Transsexual Peoples' Dreams

The subject of this study are dreams, specifically their content in transgender people. The study asks if the content of their dreams could be interpreted in the context of their lives. It submits a summary of historical approaches to dreaming and views of the major psychological schools. The presented empirical research has a character of a triple case study while the mixed design was used and it is based on assumption of Hall's continuity hypothesis. The core of this work is use of a dream content analysis created by Hall and Van de Castle on dream series produced by one transgender FtM person in order to seek differences in many indexes from norms. Analysis revealed many differences from male norms, especially in the Familiar Setting Percent and Dead and Imaginary Percent. The quantitative part is accompanied by a qualitative content analysis which was applied to the dreams of already mentioned person and remaining two MtF participants. It showed themes related to confusion of mental and physical identity,doubts and interpersonal conflicts which are, according to the author, directly related to transsexuality. Self-portrait - Vivisection of One's Own Image

This bachelor thesis is dealing with self-portraiture as genre with concentration on inner processes regarding the concept of one's own individuality. These take place in the course of creation and manifest themselves in the resulting work of art. The essay contains four case studies analysing self-portraits of four artists throughout art history. A hypothesis is presented in the introductory chapter about two levels of self-portrait - a representational one and a latter one of deviations from original plan, where the self-transformation of creative process shows. The next chapter sums up different types of self-portraits as well as evolution of the genre. Instead of specific art works or artists it focuses on factors influencing perception of self, artists' status and the very self-portraiture as genre. In third chapter, ideological stand points are outlined. It concerns with the limits of objectivity, extent of individuality and temporality. Following is the body of the thesis. It is divided according to the three participants of self- portrait: author, object and viewer. André Breton and psychoanalysis

The topic of this thesis is the connection between psychoanalysis and surrealism, an important avant-garde group. The thesis focuses on selected theoretical writings of A. Breton, leader of the surrealist movement. Influence of psychic automatism on his work is being examined along the processes revealing unconsciousness in comparison with S. Freud's fundamental works. The thesis further defines how the Freudian psychoanalysis was processed in Breton's concept of surrealism and how it influenced surrealist conceptions and procedures, provided that the basic elements of inspiration are taken right from psychoanalysis. The ultimate goal of the thesis is to determine to what extent is the influence of psychoanalysis apparent in Breton's work, and where the surrealism goes beyond psychoanalysis itself.

Abstract This thesis focuses on the situation of a substantial subject in the historical development of the surrealist experience and confronts it with our original postmodern interpretation of thoughts of early Marx. The surrealist consciousness is based on a dialectical opposition between rational and irrational elements of cognitive processes. André Breton apprehends this dialectics under the perspective of love life and relates it to values of love, freedom and poetry. Nevertheless, this conception changes in the immanent development of the surrealist consciousness from Breton over the work and thoughts Salvador Dalí and Mikuláš Medek to Vratislav Effenberger. Effenberger removes positive values from surrealism and puts emphasis on the critical functions of the irrational. On the psychological field, all these ideas are based on the conception of the unconscious which means there is the substantial approach in them. Unconscious Religiousness from the Perspective of Selected Psyhological School

Currently, the popularity of spirituality is growing at the expense of institutional forms of religion. Spirituality is associated primarily with personal spiritual experiences, which can take various forms and draw from different sources. Bachelor thesis deals with the unconscious spirituality, which is defined as a hypothetical concept, on which we can conclude from various indirect expressions of human experience and behaviour. Indications of this concept can be found in the writings of the founder of analytical psychology C. G. Jung and the founder of existential analysis V. E. Frankl. Due to current shift of meaning of the concepts of spirituality and religiousness, the question is whether their theories can be applied to the contemporary situation and the concept of the unconscious spirituality. First are summarized current approaches and definitions of spirituality and religiousness. Attention is focused mainly on definitions of B. J. Zinnbauer and K. I. Pargament. Thesis continues with discussing basic notions and theoretical background of both psychological schools and also their approach to religion.
