Returning to sport after LCA rupture in university students of physical education and sport.
Paulusová, Barbora ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Chrástková, Martina (referee)
This work is focused on the return of athletes who study physical education at universities to sports and active movement after a knee injury, specifically after a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ligamentum cruciatum anterius - LCA). The LCA is an important stabilizer of the knee joint, its rupture is one of the frequent and serious knee injuries during sports. Rupture of the LCA has very serious consequences for the biomechanics of the knee joint. The thesis describes the anatomy of the knee joint and possible causes of LCA injuries. The diploma thesis also deals with methods of injury diagnosis and treatment options. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether, after experiencing this injury, the athletes were able to return to sport without performance limitations and, if so, how their recovery took place. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the most common musculoskeletal injuries of volleyball players of all performance and age groups. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the injuries that the players suffered during training sessions or matches, how serious they are, how they recover and how to prevent their reoccurrence. The theoretical part of the work is mainly focused on the description of the units of the human locomotor system susceptible to injury during the game, following their diagnosis. The practical part of the work deals with the analysis of individual injuries in relation to performance and age groups and preventive and regenerative measures. The method of expert questionnaire survey is used to obtain this data. The obtained data are processed on the basis of the studied Czech and foreign literature and compared with similar studies dealing with the issue of injury rates in relation to prevention and regeneration. The results of the work indicate that the fingers are the most injured part of the musculoskeletal system, and the game specialization most prone to injuries is the post libero. Another finding is the many times greater injury rate among young groups of players and the general lack of preparation for physical activity among most volleyball players, which does...

Title: Design of compensatory exercises for kitesurfing Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to briefly characterize kitesurfing as a sport, to describe its possible influence on the musculoskeletal system and to create a set of compensatory exercises with and without the use of equipment, including several compensatory programs. Methods: The work was based on the collection and analysis of available information obtained from literature and internet sources. The basis for the selection of the proposed compensatory exercises was professional literature and articles focused on the elimination of muscle imbalances and injury prevention. The design of short compensatory programs was also based on own experience gained during kitesurfing. Results: Based on the available information from literature and articles, it was found that the most common injuries are to the lower limbs, especially the knee and ankle joints, as a result of problems during landing, manoeuvre or jump. Overuse areas include the lumbar spine, abdominal muscles and thighs. Problems related to the safety system, inability to relax and shallow water, which is risky on impact, are usually cited as the cause of trauma and accidents. Keywords: kitesurfing, muscle imbalance, injury, compensatory exercise
"It's just a state of mind" - An Ethnography of Pain and Injury Among Elite Athletes
Korečková, Adéla ; Halbich, Marek (advisor) ; Poděbradský, Oldřich (referee)
The main topic of this thesis is pain and injury. The research on these two phenomena, which are closely related to elite and high performance sports, was conducted in the environment of a training group of elite athletes - throwers. The aim of the thesis is to describe how these researched athletes react and how they experience pain and injury. Pain and injury are two distinct concepts that may or may not occur together. Pain is a more subjective phenomenon, whereas injury tends to be viewed more objectively. Athletes test the limits of the human body in training and competition, and it is very common for both of these phenomena to occur. A culture of risk-taking is also associated with testing the limits of the body, which is also included as a research subquestion in the thesis. In order to gain a more comprehensive view of the researched issue, not only the athletes themselves, but also the coach, sports doctor and physiotherapist were involved in the research. Qualitative methods were used during the research, which consisted of observations, interviews and document-based data.
