Government expenditure on education
ŠMEJKALOVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis deals with government expenditure on education in the Czech Republic. Education is characterized as a publicly provided good. The thesis discusses the reasons why it is appropriate for the state to finance education from public budgets. It classifies education in the Czech Republic and describes the method of public financing of education. The data sources are mainly values from the OECD statistical database. An important part of this thesis is an analysis of the level and dynamics of government expenditure on education in international comparison. The comparison of government expenditure on education is made by several indicators, such as government expenditure on education expressed as a proportion of GDP, government expenditure on education per capita, government expenditure on education expressed as a proportion of total government expenditure and percentage comparison of public and private sector financing of educational institutions. The results of the analyses show that the Czech Republic's government expenditure on education is lower than the average of OECD countries. An important part of the thesis is the search for a link between government expenditure on education and the Better life index. This index allows for a comparison of well-being across countries based on eleven indicators that the OECD considers essential in terms of living conditions and quality of life. When we compared the Czech Republic's position in the Better Life Index values for the education indicator variable, we concluded that the Czech Republic was higher in the Better Life Index education scores than in the analyses of government spending on education. A correlation analysis was used to find the relationship between the level of government spending on education and some of the Better life index indicators, namely the indicators of years in education, quality of support network and life satisfaction.

Metamorfosis of vax flowers
Kopúnková, Alexandra ; Sabik, Ester (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
The diploma thesis Metamorphosis of a wax flower deals with the searching for identity in the layers of folklore from the point of view of a contemporary being. For this project, a floral crown was created (a head decoration in the form of a wreath or "crown", most often made of textile or wax flowers or possibly beaded ornaments or just rosemary and ribbons) as the main artifact of the concept of a transitional ritual to adulthood. The flower crown is part of a performance adapted to a traditional wedding ceremony, when the bride's crown is removed after the ceremony and is replaced by a hat covering brides hair. This work recreates this historical ritual, which had acquired an archaic meaning, and shows a possible alternative, when the key moment of rebirth is applied to the leaving from the academic land and the entry into the business market.
Isle of rats on the edge of rest area
Urbančok, Robert ; Maxmilián, Václav (referee) ; Janů, Valentýna (advisor)
In a work entitled Isle of rats on the edge of rest area, I process memories of childhood educational coercion into an environment that embodies the psychic space of experiencing one's position within the educational construct of parental expectations in an attempt to model the young person's personality through the politics of sport. Learning in the isolated and empathically emptied space of the tennis court, in a system of definitive rules, relationships and values based on a one-way construction of victory over failure, propagating active lifestyles and healthy bodies as a modern individualist religion, maintaining selective socialisation, limiting intuition, creativity and stigmatising otherness in order to class-legitimise personal growth and the representation of one's social position - at the expense of denying one's own identity. Through the appropriation of materials and the aesthetics of the tennis court, I create a space for the curiosity of these repressed childhood memories brought into the present, where I attempt to reflect on them, name the vague feelings, and internally come to terms with them.
The Englishes - a survey of the world Englishes
První část je nazvána „English as a native language“. V této části autor popisuje historii vzniku anglického jazyka v zemích jako Velká Británie, Spojené Státy Americké, Austrálie a Jižní Afrika.
Contraception from the perspective of women
VOKURKOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of contraceptive methods and women's awareness of this topic. It is divided into two parts, the theoretical part, and the practical part. The theoretical part deals with the selected contraceptive methods (e.g. coitus interruptus, male condom, female condom, vaginal pessary, spermicides, combined oral contraceptive, a pill after unprotected intercourse, sterilization...), the reliability of contraception, the family planning, and the role of the midwife in the education about the contraceptive methods. For the practical part there was chosen one goal, specifically - to find out whether women were informed about the contraception issues and where they got the information from. The research was based on a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was self-constructed and consisted of 26 questions that were closed, semi-closed and one open question. It was distributed online on the Instagram social network. For the evaluation of the hypothesis there were used a two-sample (paired) Z test and a test for proportion. The research group consisted of 573 female respondents. These respondents were divided into a total of four age categories. Women aged 18-25 (52,2 %) were the most represented age category. On the contrary, women aged 46-50 (3,4 %) had the smallest representation. The following hypotheses are related to the above-mentioned goal: H1: Younger women have more information about the contraception than older women. H2: Women have more information about the contraception from the Internet sources than from the midwives. The research showed that younger women were more informed about the contraceptive methods than older women. To verify this hypothesis, the original four age categories were merged into two categories, specifically - younger women = 18-35 years old, older women = 36-50 years old. Furthermore, the research showed that a greater number of women obtained information about the contraceptive methods from the Internet sources than from the midwives. Women chose the Internet as a source of information a total of 379 times, while midwives were mentioned as a source of information only 7 times. 7 The research thus proved that women were informed about of the contraceptive methods. However, it is essential for the midwives to make full use of all competencies they have in their profession. Both hypotheses were confirmed through the research investigation.
