Motivation for volunteering

This Bachelor thesis deals with the motives making a person decide to become a volunteer. The theoretical part includes the definition of the terms volunteer, volunteering, history of volunteering and its classification. The second chapter discusses motivation. Individual subchapters are divided as what is motivation, what motivates for volunteering, and what are the barriers. The practical part was prepared with a qualitative approach. Through in-depth semi-structured interviews, it addresses the questions of why they became volunteers and the motivation and demotivation for volunteering. The survey has shown that the most common motive for volunteering is to gain new experience and a sense of fulfilment.
Senior as a volunteer

The Bachelor´s thesis focuses on the importance of volunteering for seniors and aims to clarify the importance of volunteering for seniors. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first part defines volunteering and explains terms used in volunteering. This part also mentions motivation for volunteering, the place of volunteering in the Czech legislation and description of volunteer centres. The second chapter introduces key aspects of integrating the volunteers into an organization. The third chapter concentrates on the main topic ot the thesis - the importance of volunteering for seniors. The Bachelor´s thesis concludes with a research part that captures the views of selected senior volunteers. The respondents were selected from the Salesian Yount Centre in České Budějovice and from the Volunteer Center of Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice.
Development of Volunteering in Publick Administration

Volunteering, or helping others willingly with no expectation of reward, is used in many sectors of our society, but it is rarely found in the public administration and government sectors. The "Volunteering in Public Administration" project was intended to encourage the use of volunteering in this area. The idea of this project was to enrich the work of employees in various institutions while helping them gain new knowledge and experience which they can use when working with their clients.

In my theses I focus on analysis of three international private market companies. Company GEFCO ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA s.r.o. , Dalkia a.s. a ABB a.s. With this companies I'm interested in the way how they practice corporate social responsibility (CSR). When I was choosing this companies I considered facts as: Company has to have head quarter in Western Europe Company has to have experience with corporate social responsibility and has to practice CSR and has to organize social responsible activities. All chosen companies are leaders in its business sector. In my theses I will focus on overview about CSR activities of companies, mainly on corporate philanthropy. I will focus on cooperation of these companies and non government organization, I'm interested in concrete activities done by NGOs in cooperation with through CSR and how NGOs perceived activities that are done through CSR. I'm interested in the way how companies involve their employees into CSR. I 'm going to aim if subsidiaries and head quarters practice same CSR activities and using same CSR tools. I'm also interested in the role of CSR in marketing strategy of these companies. Cooperation between the volunteer, the client and o. s. Lata - Programy pro ohroženou mládež Abstract: The thesis deals with issues of a voluntary work on field of programmes focused on working with threatened children, adolescents and young adults by form one to one. It's focused on a mentors project running by the citizens' association LATA - Programmes for Threatened Adolescents. It pays attention especially to factors, which can influence the relationship between a volunteer, a client and an organization. It follows up mainly involved volunteers, it puts an aim to description of ways, how the volunteers percieve their work with clients and their organization. Research part of the thesis is focused on analysis of volunteers' statements and has an ambition to catch and reveal important factors, which affect their activities in the organization. This thesis conducts a survey, what motivation and aim the volunteers have, how they percieve their relationships with clients, what helps them to maintain a mentoring role and how they percieve at all the organization they work in
Involvement of students in sport volunteerism

Title: Involvement of students in sport volunteerism Objectives of: Determine differences in the participation of students in sport volunteerism in Czech Republic, Germany and America. Based on a different outlook on volunteering in each of these countries propose recommendations for increasing the involvement of students in volunteerism. Methods: One of the methods used in this study was surveying groups of students in the three countries. Each survey consisted of a written questionnaire, which allowed students to evaluate their participation in sport volunteerism. Another method used was observation, which consisted of studying the organization level of volunteers in three different sporting events. Results: The results of investigation was finding that volunteering in the Czech Republic is still less popular than volunteering in Germany and America. Thus, Czech students are less involved in volunteer activities. Yet, volunteering in sport is a very popular area, especially for students who are studying within a sports field. Character of the professionalisation of NGOs and its impact.

The theme of this thesis is the professionalization of NGOs, which can be defined as the transformation to a formal organization with professional management. The process of professionalization consist in job creations and/or the professional management. Jobs can be filled by professionals with volunteer experience or by professionals without volunteer experience. If NGO employs professionals with volunteer experience, the character of personnel professionalization is organic, otherwise is inorganic. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the difference in process, level and consequences of organic and inorganic professionalization of nonprofit organizations. The presumption is that the organic professionalization implies less negative impact on the nonprofit organization than inorganic professionalization. In the theoretical part terms like nonprofit sector, NGOs and professionalization are defined and the theoretical background related to the character of personnel professionalization is presented there. In the empirical part - based on the methodology - is the relationship between the character of personnel professionalization and the process, level and consequences of professionalization in two researched NGOs examined.
Training and Education of Volunteers in the Home Hospice "Cesta domů" - the Homecoming

The issue of death and dying affects everyone, it is not easy and yet a natural part of everyone's life. Hospice care offers help and support a dying man and his close on the last trip "home". This thesis describes the possibilities of a preparatory course for the volunteers who play an irreplaceable role in hospice care. The practical part describes the specific example from the conditions of the Czech home hospice - The Home Coming, which is being commented on the ground of literature and my personal experience. The outcome of the research is the feedback for the management of the home hospice - The Home Coming, including recommendations for changes of the preparatory course.
